SMITE God Guide: He Bo Arena Damage Build and Gameplay - Season 3

He Bo is an absolute terror in Season 3. His strength as a mage was always his burst damage and turnaround potential in fights (with his knockup and ultimate damage), but now it has gone to another level. The introduction of Doom Orb and Spear of Desolation has buffed nearly every mage, and at this point, He Bo nearly impossible to 1v1 unless you get the jump on him (and even then, watch out). Doom Orb | Shoes of the Magi | Spear of Desolation | Obsidian Shard | Rod of Tahuti | Chronos Pendant He Bo has always been one of my favorite mages. His knock up is extremely good in team fights, and his cooldowns are very low for the amount of damage he puts out. His #1, #3 and Ultimates are all devastating, and getting hit with any of them will surely put an enemy on their heels and out of the fight (if not kill them). However, He Bo isn't invincible. If his ult is down, and you can get the upper hand on him with area damage or lock him down with CC, he is very squishy and will go down easily. He Bo has no real movement ability, but his #2 does provide a great escape in dire situations. It isn't perfect, and is nowhere near as effective as a jump or dash in my opinion, but it provides wonderful team utility since it makes your teammates immune to slows while on the carpet and give them a speed boost - usually enough to get away from the heat of the battle. If you are in trouble as He Bo, very often it is better to FIGHT than run, since a Kali or someone with a lot of movement speed and a jump/dash will surely catch up with you. But, if you can knock them up and land your #1 before they fall back down, you can either kill them with your ultimate or force their retreat, since they should be below 50% health at this point. All in all, He Bo is a very fun God, one of my favorite mages to play, and is extremely strong in Season 3 - have fun checking him out and let me know how it goes!
