Acecarbromal was discovered by Bayer in 1917. As (Abasin, Carbased, Paxarel, Sedacetyl, Sedanyl), also known as acetyladalin and acetylcarbromal, it was a hypnotic and sedative drug formally sold in the United States and Europe.
