From 1923 to 1938, Edward Steichen was a photographer for the Condé Nast magazines: Vogue and Vanity Fair. Photographing literary and screen stars during this periord he captured what he called the "Essential Moment" in his work, the essence of those sitting for his portrait photography. His images are beautiful and inspiring showing a world of elegance and charm which has been immortalised in his work.
