Dana Bruce Barros (born April 13, 1967) is a retired American professional basketball player from the National Basketball Association (NBA). In college, he played at Boston College, finishing as one of the school's all-time leading scorers.
Barros was a four-year basketball starter at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts where he tallied 1,821 points, including a record 57 points in a tournament game versus Needham. The 1985 Catholic Conference MVP and Boston Globe All Scholastic averaged over 30 points per game during his senior campaign in an era before the 3-point shot was implemented.
The 5' 11" (1.80 m), 165 lb (75 kg) point guard, began his professional career in 1989 when he was selected in the first round of the NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics with the 16th pick. Most of his time spent in Seattle was as a backup to point guard Gary Payton, who was considered to be a much more competent ball handler and defender, as Barros was deemed more usable at shooting guard.
Dana Barros lit up the night in Philadelphia, scoring 50 points against the eventual champion Houston Rockets in 1995.
February 10, 1996 - Dana Barros and Steve Kerr battled to a stalemate in the first round of the 1996 NBA 3pt. Shootout. Barros would fail to advance to the semi-finals after dropping a three-way tie-break to Kerr and George McCloud. Kerr would finish tied for third.

Dana Barros was among those honored by the MIAA at Gillette Stadium. He recalled his high-scoring high school days at Xaverian, and the short shorts his kids won't let him live down. Plus - did you know Doug Flutie was his guide around campus at BC when the Eagles recruited Dana to play football?
November 4, 2001 - Pistons guard Dana Barros connected on five of eight 3-pointers en route to scoring 17 points in a 100-78 blowout win over Michael Jordan and the Washington Wizards. The 34-year-old Barros began the 2001-02 regular season as Detroit's starting point guard before sustaining a left hamstring injury 27 games in (http://www.cbc.ca/sports/basketball/dana-barros-re-activated-by-pistons-1.307614). Chucky Atkins took over the Pistons point guards reigns in Barros' absence. The resulting point guard instability would eventually set the stage for the signing of Chauncey Billups during the summer of 2002. Barros' five 3-pointers against Washington eclipsed his previous Pistons high of three. Jordan scored 15 second quarter points before finishing with 19, sitting a significan...

"Where were you the night Dana Barros dropped half a hundred?" Boxscore: http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/199503140PHI.html Dana Barros was must-see TV. Him Vs. Kenny Smith here is GOLD! The Dream and Drexler were just to great for this Sixers Team. Enjoy there highlights as well. Dana Barros’ ’94-’95 season with the Sixers was a season on steroids. Even Brady Anderson was like, "Dude?" Barros, who only had one double-digit scoring season in his first six in the NBA, blew up for 20 ppg in a contract year. He shot a Korver-esque 46% from three-point land. He hung 41 on the Lakers, drilled nine triples against Phoenix, and dropped fifty on the defending champion, Houston Rockets.

Sometimes I hold a
Candle to it,
Finding the handle to it
I’m holding something
Wonderful
And sometimes
I’m without the light
Lost in the tricks
Of night
Moments
I have the pleasure of it
I take the measure of it
And time goes by
So thoughtlessly
And moment’s
Thought is like a stone
Another cup of Joe
‘N Take somebody home
Time and tide
Have sands to sweep
And I've a waking dream
Love will wait
And children will keep
Love is a kiss to steal
Not written in the deal
Sometimes I drive a nail
Right through it
I pin the tail right to it
And I can feel it's happening
And suddenly it's so far away
And I remember I've got
Dreams to pay
