Stephen John Fry (born 24 August 1957) is an English actor, screenwriter, author, playwright, journalist, poet, comedian, television presenter, film director, and a director of Norwich City Football Club.

After a troubled childhood and adolescence, during which he was expelled from a number of schools and eventually spent three months in prison for credit card fraud, he was able to secure a place at Queens' College, Cambridge, where he studied English Literature.

He first came to public attention in the 1981 Cambridge Footlights Revue presentation "The Cellar Tapes", which also included Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Tony Slattery. With Hugh Laurie, as the comedy double act Fry and Laurie, he co-wrote and co-starred in A Bit of Fry & Laurie, and took the role of Jeeves (with Laurie playing Wooster) in Jeeves and Wooster.

As an actor, Fry played the lead in the film Wilde, was Melchett in the BBC television series Blackadder, starred as the title character Peter Kingdom in the ITV series Kingdom, has a recurring guest role as Dr. Gordon Wyatt on the Fox crime series Bones and appeared as rogue TV host Gordon Deitrich in the dystopian thriller V For Vendetta. He has also written and presented several documentary series including the 2008 television series Stephen Fry in America, which saw him travelling across all 50 US states. Since 2003 he has been the host of the quiz show QI.

Harry Stein (born November 25, 1948) is an American journalist and author. In recent years he has been best known for his migration from political liberalism to conservatism, as chronicled in a number of books highly regarded on the right. Since 2000, he has been a contributing editor to City Journal, the quarterly published by the Manhattan Institute.

Stein was born in New York City and grew up in suburban New Rochelle. His father, Joseph, was a Broadway librettist/playwright (‘Fiddler on the Roof,’ ‘Zorba,’ ‘Enter Laughing’) and his mother, Sadie, was a housewife. In their youth, both his parents had been communists and Stein grew up in a staunchly left/liberal milieu. As a student at Pomona College in the late 1960’s, he was active in the anti-war movement, and his first major piece, written for American Heritage while he was a student at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism, was a profile of the former American Communist Party leader Earl Browder.

The first publication for which Stein worked was The Richmond Mercury in Richmond, Virginia, a liberal weekly he started with a number of other young journalists. He soon moved to New York, where he worked for New Times Magazine, and then moved on to Esquire, for which he wrote for the next ten years, and where he created Ethics, an entertainingly written yet thoughtful monthly column that became one of the most popular features in the magazine’s long history. In the 1970’s and 80’s Stein also wrote regularly for such publications as the New York Times Sunday Magazine, Playboy and New York Magazine; as well as co-founded the Paris Metro, an English-language city magazine in the French capital. He published his first novel, Hoopla, in 1983 and the mass market medical thriller The Magic Bullet a decade later, along the way writing a number of non-fiction books, including (with former Mossad agent Peter Malkin) Eichmann in My Hands, about the Israeli’s capture of the notorious Nazi war criminal.

The Cure are an English alternative rock band formed in Crawley, West Sussex in 1976. The band has experienced several line-up changes, with frontman, vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter Robert Smith being the only constant member. The Cure first began releasing music in the late 1970s with its debut album Three Imaginary Boys (1979); this, along with several early singles, placed the band as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s, the band's increasingly dark and tormented music helped form the gothic rock genre.

After the release of Pornography (1982), the band's future was uncertain and Smith was keen to move past the gloomy reputation his band had acquired. With the 1982 single "Let's Go to Bed" Smith began to place a pop sensibility into the band's music (as well as a unique stage look). The Cure's popularity increased as the decade wore on, especially in the United States where the songs "Just Like Heaven", "Lovesong" and "Friday I'm in Love" entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart. By the start of the 1990s, The Cure were one of the most popular alternative rock bands in the world. The band is estimated to have sold 27 million albums as of 2004. The Cure have released thirteen studio albums, 10 EPs and over thirty singles during the course of their career. Since 2010, they have been working on a fourteenth studio album.
