Mevinphos
Mevinphos is an organophosphate insecticide that acts as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor to control insects in a wide range of crops. It is most commonly used for the control of chewing and sucking insects, as well as spider mites.
Manufacture
Mevinphos is produced by the reaction of trimethyl phosphite with chloroacetoacetate.

The use of cannabis for medicinal and/or recreational purposes has become legal in several states. Regulations that permit the use of different forms of cannabis demand effective and reliable analytical strategies to ensure the safety of cannabis users.
Pesticide content is one of the main parameters tested in cannabis and cannabis-derived products due to the risks that these compounds pose for human health. However, the main challenges associated with pesticide testing rely on the broad range of physicochemical properties of these compounds, the low action levels requested by the regulations, and the complexity and diversity of matrices to be analyzed.
In this poster video, we’re going to present sample preparation and instrumental strategies for the accurate quantitation of the California list of pesticides and mycotoxins in cannabis products.

Organophosphate pesticides (OP) are comprised of a phosphate (or thio- or dithio-phosphate) moiety and an organic moiety. Examples: Malathion, parathion, diazinon, fenthion, dichlorvos, chlorpyrifos, ethion.
Organophosphate insecticides (such as diazinon) are one type of pesticide that works by damaging an enzyme in the body called acetylcholinesterase. This enzyme is critical for controlling nerve signals in the body. The damage to this enzyme kills pests and may cause unwanted side effects in exposed humans.
The definitive treatment for organophosphate poisoning is atropine, which competes with acetylcholine at the muscarinic receptors.

Setiap racun serangga mempunyai kod nombor, cara tindakan yang berbeza (MoA) dan subclass tersendiri. Ia dibuat bagi mengelakkan serangga membina kekebalan terhadap racun yang kita guna. Adalah penting bagi pengguna supaya memahami jenis bahan aktif dan cara tindakan racun tersebut bagi menjamin keberkesanan serta mengelakkan terjadinya rintangan (resistance). Cara tindakan racun serangga ada 5 kumpulan utama dan yang paling banyak digunakan sekarang adalah nerve and muscle, respiration serta growth. Setiap kumpulan utama ini, ada kod nombor dan subclass tertentu untuk tindakan yang berbeza. Ikuti perkongsian ini, semoga bermanfaat.
