Experimentation and research are the key to the interpretation of the choreographer Enzo Celli’s work. His unconditional love for contemporary dance and theatre gave birth to a structured technique totally permeated by poetry, aiming to become part of the current Avant-garde. Even though Celli has codified a technical language belonging to the contemporary dance field, naming it MEME, it’s by using those simple gestures so much appreciated by the audience that the essence of his poetical language revealed itself. Enzo Celli’s work, focusing on Man, from the very beginning has aimed to create an uncommon poetic language able to deal with sociological topics. In 1998 he founds his first company named Botega, whose activities and productions aroused the interest of Vittoria Ottolenghi. The interest demonstrated by Vittoria Ottolenghi for Enzo Celli’s creations encouraged him to develop his natural instinct towards choreography. So he gave birth to his first works as “I trionfi del Petrarca” with Music by Maestro Berio, “Ovo, una Maratona per Peter Gabriel” with Music by Peter Gabriel and he collaborated with Lindsay Kemp. Since 2008 he has collaborated with Bashkortostan State Academy in Russia and UFMG University in Brazil. In January 2012 he did a Workshop at Peridance Capezio Center in New York. Just in New York he developed the technique he was working with Botega, codifying MEME technique.   The constant growth of his company Botega encouraged him to follow a new artistic research leaded to the creation of the Celli Contemporary Ballet. Based on his artistic director’s great vision and interpretation abilities, Celli Contemporary Ballet is not simply a dance company but it’s a reference point for the experimentation and development of contemporary dance itself. Celli Contemporary Ballet’s dancers are artists coming from different backgrounds who share the same multifaceted study on contemporary dance and theatre. On this formative concept is based Meme technique. On the innovative method of Enzo Celli’s work three thesis have already been discussed.   Remarkable are some of the choreographer’s most important works and collaborations produced by G.D.O. In June 2006 he was one of the choreographers of the event “L’amour et son amour, l’uomo che danza e la sua aspirazione”, directed by Vittoria Ottolenghi, performed by the soloists Roberto Bolle, Vladimir Derevianko and Viviana Durante at Todi Festival; in June 2006 Botega Dance Company, together with Alvin Alley Company, Bèjart Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet and Staatsballet München joined as a guest company the Dance Gala “Amores” directed by Vittoria Ottolenghi; in 2008 Enzo Celli taught at the Bashkir State Academy in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Ufa, Russia) and collaborated with the Russian Drama Theatre; in 2011 Botega Dance Company performed “Fragile” at the Russian Drama Theatre and at the Na Strastnom Theatre in Moscow. In October 2008 the company performed “Subway” at La Cigale Theatre in Paris. In September 2009 Enzo Celli was resident choreographer at Topaz Art in New York. In August 2010 he debuted at Versiliana Festival with his remake of Giselle getting great reviews and success. In 2010 he was a guest at the Erfurt Opera House (Germany). In 2010 he joined as a guest the Dumbo Dance Festival and the Wive Rising Series in New York and in January 2011 he was invited to join the Cool New York Dance Festival. In 2012 he performed with his company at the DNA Theatre in New York.
