Bench or The Bench can refer to:

Stan Efferding (born November 6, 1967 in Portland, Oregon), is an American IFBB professional bodybuilder and powerlifter.

Stan Efferding, born November 6, 1967 in Portland Oregon, graduated from Cambria Heights High School in Patton Pennsylvania in 1985. He had a college scholarship to play soccer for Warner Pacific College, but he decided to go to University of Oregon, where he studied Psychology.

Efferding competed in bodybuilding since 1988 winning the Mr. Oregon in 1991, placing 6th in the Jr. USA in 1992 and placing 2nd in the Emerald Cup in 1996 and 1997. Efferding started competing in powerlifting in 1996 totaling over 2,000 lbs in the Pepsi Region 8 challenge, deadlifting 782 lbs raw.

In 1997 Efferding stopped competing in both sports in order to pursue business opportunities, but continued lifting.

At the age of 38, Efferding came back to bodybuilding and competed in the 2006 Seattle Emerald Cup, winning the Superheavyweight class weighing 235 lbs. In 2008 he came back and won the Emerald Cup Heavyweight class and overall award. In February 2009 at the age of 41 Efferding totaled 2,070 lbs at the APA "All RAW" Northwest Regional Championships, setting 2 American records in the open category.

Andy Haman (born 1966) is an American professional bodybuilder who competes in the superheavyweight class.

Born in Iowa City, Iowa, Haman was a member of the University of Iowa wrestling team. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in health. He competed in bodybuilding tournaments, winning the 1987 Midwest Natural Championships, but gave up the sport to focus on teaching. He relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he taught physical education and health at Doherty High School. In 2004, Haman retired from teaching to concentrate on establishing a career in bodybuilding.

In 2006, Haman won the NPC Colorado State Championship in the superheavyweight class. Later that year, he placed 16th in both the NPC USA Bodybuilding Championships and the NPC National Bodybuilding Championships. In 2007, Haman placed second in the Shawn Ray Colorado NPC Classic, then won the superheavyweight class and the overall title at the NPC Masters Bodybuilding National Championships, where he earned his bodybuilding pro card.

Taylor Daniel Lautner (pronounced /ˈlaʊtnər/, LOWT-ner; born February 11, 1992) is an American actor, voice actor, model, and martial artist. As a child, Lautner took up martial arts at Fabiano's Karate in Holland, Michigan and was ranked number one in his category by the American Sports Karate Association. Lautner soon thereafter began his acting career, appearing in bit roles in comedy series such as The Bernie Mac Show (2003) and My Wife and Kids (2004), before having voice roles in television series like What's New, Scooby-Doo? (2005) and Danny Phantom (2005). In 2005, he appeared in the film Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and starred in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D.

Lautner is best known for playing Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga film series based on the novels of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. He also starred in the action film, Abduction, which became a sleeper hit.

The late 2000s saw Lautner become a teen idol and rise as a sex symbol, after extensively changing his physique to keep the role of Jacob Black in further Twilight installments, and thereafter generating media attention for his looks. In 2010, he was ranked second on Glamour's "The 50 Sexiest Men of 2010" list, and fourth on People's "Most Amazing Bodies" list. Also in the same year, Lautner was named the highest-paid teenage actor in Hollywood.

Ryan McDonagh (born June 13, 1989) is an American ice hockey defenseman with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League. He played college hockey at University of Wisconsin–Madison.

He attended Cretin-Derham Hall High School in St. Paul, Minnesota where as a junior he helped lead his team to the school's first state hockey championship. The following season he was awarded the 2007 Minnesota Mr. Hockey award, which is given annually to the top senior high school hockey player in the state. He was drafted in the first round, 12th overall by the Montreal Canadiens on June 22, 2007, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He also won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2007 IIHF World U18 Championships. He also represented the United States in the 2009 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

On June 30, 2009, his rights were traded along with Christopher Higgins, Pavel Valentenko, and Doug Janik to the New York Rangers for Scott Gomez, Tom Pyatt, and Michael Busto.

On July 6, 2010, he signed an entry-level contract with the New York Rangers, forgoing his senior season at Wisconsin and joining childhood friend and former Wisconsin teammate Derek Stepan with the Rangers. After beginning the 2010-11 season with the Hartford Wolfpack, he was promoted to the Rangers on January 3, 2011. He played his first NHL game for the Rangers against the Dallas Stars on January 7, 2011. He earned his first NHL point for the Rangers with an assist on a goal by Brandon Prust against the Carolina Hurricanes on January 20, 2011. On March 20, 2011, McDonagh was the victim of an elbow to the head from Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke, who was subsequently suspended for the remainder of the regular season plus the first round of the Playoffs.
