Prince Antoni Henryk Radziwiłł (13 June 1775 – 7 April 1833) was a Polish-Lithuanian and Prussian noble, aristocrat, musician and politician. Initially a hereditary Duke of Nieśwież (modern Nesvizh, Belarus) and Ołyka (modern Olyka, Ukraine), as a scion of the Radziwiłł family he also held the honorific title of a Reichsfürst of the Holy Roman Empire. Between 1815 and 1831 he acted as Duke-Governor (Polish: książę-namiestnik, German: Statthalter) of the Grand Duchy of Posen, an autonomous province of the Kingdom of Prussia created out of Greater Polish lands annexed in the Partitions of Poland.

Antoni Radziwiłł was born on 13 June 1775 in Vilnius to Michał Hieronim Radziwiłł and Helena née Przeździecka. From 1792 he attended Göttingen University and was invited to the court of King Frederick William II of Prussia. In 1796 he married Princess Louise of Prussia, the second daughter of Prince Augustus Ferdinand of Prussia and hence a niece of the late Prussian king Frederick the Great. His new family convinced him that he should be a mediator between the Poles living under the Third Partition after the failed Kościuszko Uprising and the Prussian authorities in Berlin. Fluctuating between Berlin, Warsaw and Saint Petersburg, Radziwiłł developed the idea of making the province of South Prussia the nucleus of a renewed Polish kingdom, ruled by the Prussian king in personal union.

Prince Maciej Radziwiłł (Lithuanian: Motiejus Radvila) (November 10, 1749 – September 2, 1800) was a Polish-Lithuanian noble (szlachcic), composer and librettist.

Around 1780 he lived at Nieśwież, the house of Karol Radziwiłł, governor of Vilnius Province, who maintained a company of actors, musicians and dancers there and at his estates in Alba, Ołyka, Słuck, Biała and elsewhere. While at Nieśwież, Radziwiłł wrote the libretto for Jan Dawid Holland's opera Agatka, czyli Przyjazd pana (‘Agatha, or The Master's Arrival’) which was performed on 17 September 1784 during King Stanisław August's visit to Nieśwież. He also wrote the libretto and composed the music for the three-act opera Wójt osady albiańskiej (‘The Headman of the Settlers at Alba’) which premiered in Alba on 4 November 1786.

Radziwiłł was owner of Szydłowiec, Grand Podkomorzy of Lithuania since 1786, and castellan of Vilnius since 1788. He moved to the town of Vilnius where he composed some instrumental and orchestral music and was awarded with the Order of the White Eagle on February 18, 1788.

Antoni Macierewicz (born 3 August 1948 in Warsaw) is a Polish Catholic politician, anti-communist activist, member of Sejm, journalist and a former internal affairs minister, former vice-minister of national defence in Jarosław Kaczyński's government, and current parliamentary representative.

Youngest son of Zdzisław and Maria Macierewicz, one of their three children. His father, a scientist and noted researcher in chemistry, was a soldier of Home Army during World War II and a member of Labour Party (Poland), committed suicide under the pressure from the communist Secret Police soon after his youngest son had been born. After getting his master degree in history from Warsaw University Macierewicz had begun doctoral studies in history of South America at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, but due to his involvement in the 1968 Polish political crisis he was arrested and his studies terminated. In the years 1968-1989 he was a prominent member of the democratic opposition to communist rule and one of the founders of the Workers' Defence Committee (KOR), working together with Jacek Kuroń and Adam Michnik, and together they started publishing monthly Głos in 1977. He was one of the organizers of Solidarity (Polish trade union) in Warsaw. He was arrested and interned after the Wojciech Jaruzelski's junta had imposed the martial law in Poland on December 13, 1981. He escaped from the prison in Nowy Łupków and was in hiding until 1984. In 1988 he was a member of Solidarity Citizens' Committee.
