A New Model for a Better Society? (Part 2 - The Model)
View the diagram and join the discussion at: www.freemanireland.ning.com/forums/topics/a-new-model-for-a-better-society A top-down autonomy system where the power base for all decision making is with the people. Negates the need for government as we know it today. Empowers everyone with a chance to participate in a realistic, meaningful way. Has been described as 'consultative democracy' although this model contains the seeds for a real republic of the people, allowing local decisions be decided locally with a process for obtaining national consensus on serious issues (monetary policy, resource management, administration, international relations, defence, justice etc). It would see power decentralised back to the base of the pyramid and recognise individual, community, and county independence but also an efficient means for organising on a national level too. It's not a new policy or a rule or an agenda or a philosophy, it's a method. This method would demystify politics, end the drama and hand the reins back to the people who can then direct the country where it needs to go.- published: 31 Jul 2013
