Cardiac Cycle Broken Down
You can find this video and other helpful videos/materials (practice sheet and questions) on my website: www.profroofs.com
The Wiggers Diagram of the Cardiac Cycle is usually a difficult diagram to first understand. In this video I relate it to an analogy of a haunted house. I walk you first through the basic ideas you already know to the point of understanding the detailed diagram. Additionally, I give a few practice questions at the end. I hope this is helpful. If there are any questions then contact me here, through FB (John Roufaiel) or by email (jroufaiel@gmail.com). Best of luck!

We all know that the heart beats. We don't even need to think about it - it just happens. But, there are many details that need to come together in order for it to happen efficiently and effectively.
In this videos, Leslie goes through the concepts involved in the cycle, explaining the phonocardiogram, electrocardiogram (ACG/EKG), ventricular volume and pressure, atrial pressure and aortic pressure.
Enjoy!

Cardiac Cycle iPad demo
Demo of an interactive diagram about the cardiac cycle, created by Michael Parker, MD. The diagram illustrates different aspects of the cardiac cycle, that is, the normal heart beat, including events such as valves opening and closing, the heart sounds, and the pressure and volume changes in the heart chambers.
