Coordinates: 52°56′06″N 4°31′26″W / 52.935°N 4.524°W / 52.935; -4.524
Nefyn (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈneːvɨn]) is a small town and community on the north west coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, Wales. Historically in Caernarfonshire, it has a population of 2,602. Nefyn is popular with visitors for its sandy beach, and has one substantial hotel. Welsh is the first language of almost 73% of its inhabitants. The A497 road terminates in the town centre. The community includes Edern.
History
The history of the area can be traced back to 300 BC with the Iron Age hillfort of Garn Boduan overlooking Nefyn. The remains of 170 round stone huts and ramparts are still visible on top of the 917 feet (280 m) hill.
The earliest known reference to Nefyn in documents dates from the latter part of the 11th century, when it is mentioned as a landing place of the Welsh prince, Gruffudd ap Cynan.
Gerald of Wales, writing in his account of a journey around Wales in 1188, says that he slept at Nefyn on the eve of Palm Sunday.

Places to see in ( Morfa Nefyn - UK ) Morfa Nefyn is a small village located on the northern coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in the Welsh county of Gwynedd. It lies on the crossroads of the B4417 (Nefyn - Aberdaron) and B4412 and has been a traditionally undiscovered destination. More recently, the village has seen a rise in popularity as house prices in nearby villages on the Llŷn Peninsula such as Abersoch and Llanbedrog have risen rapidly. Many homes are now holiday homes and a complex of holiday flats has recently been built by the entrance to the beach. The village has a couple of shops, B&Bs; and hotels. The neighbouring town of Nefyn has more in the way of shops and services, but for a more comprehensive range, Pwllheli is only 7 miles and about 10 minutes down the A497 road. The beac...

Morfa Nefyn is a small village located on the northern coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in the Welsh county of Gwynedd. It lies on the crossroads of the B4417 (Nefyn - Aberdaron) and B4412 and has been a traditionally undiscovered destination. More recently, the village has seen a rise in popularity as house prices in nearby villages on the Llŷn Peninsula such as Abersoch and Llanbedrog have risen rapidly. Many homes are now holiday homes and a complex of holiday flats has recently been built by the entrance to the beach.
The village has a couple of shops, B&Bs; and hotels. The neighbouring town of Nefyn has more in the way of shops and services, but for a more comprehensive range, Pwllheli is only 7 miles and about 10 minutes down the A497 road.
The beach at Morfa Nefyn is mainly sand with small amounts of shale. Along the beach to the west is the small, picturesque fishing hamlet of Porthdinllaen, famous for its pub, the Ty Coch, which lies at the top of the beach. Porthdinllaen is also home to the local lifeboat station which houses an inshore lifeboat, as well as a dock for the local Coast Guard.

The other 2 loops of 9 are well worth playing with cliff top views of the Sea.

Nefn is popular with visitors for its sandy beach and ex BRITISH PRIME MINISTER DAVID CAMERON was famously photographed with his family at the pub on the beach here.
The history of NEFYN can be traced back to 300BC with the IRON AGE HILLFORT of GARN BODUAN overlooking NEFYN. The remains of 170 round stone huts and ramparts are still visible on top of the 280m hill.
The earliest known reference to NEFYN in documents dated from the latter part of the 11th century when it is mentioned as a landing place of the WELSH PRINCE GRUFFUDD AP CYNAN.
KING EDWARD 1 OF ENGLAND held a jousting tournament here in NEFYN in 1284 to CELEBRATE HIS VICTORY OVER THE WELSH emphasising its importance at that time as a trading town.

Finally back on the road Explorer Rich heads to sunny North Wales to visit Nefyn in search of Trwyn Dinllaen an Iron Age Hill Fort. Follow Rich as he travels to coastal road and across the sandy beaches of Nefyn, will he be successful or will his search be in vein?

Morfa Nefyn is a small village located on the northern coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in the Welsh county of Gwynedd. It lies on the crossroads of the B4417 (Nefyn - Aberdaron) and B4412 and has been a traditionally undiscovered destination. More recently, the village has seen a rise in popularity as house prices in nearby villages on the Llŷn Peninsula such as Abersoch and Llanbedrog have risen rapidly. Many homes are now holiday homes and a complex of holiday flats has recently been built by the entrance to the beach.
The village has a couple of shops, B&Bs; and hotels. The neighbouring town of Nefyn has more in the way of shops and services, but for a more comprehensive range, Pwllheli is only 7 miles and about 10 minutes down the A497 road.
The beach at Morfa Nefyn is mainly sand with small amounts of shale. Along the beach to the west is the small, picturesque fishing hamlet of Porthdinllaen, famous for its pub, the Ty Coch, which lies at the top of the beach. Porthdinllaen is also home to the local lifeboat station which houses an inshore lifeboat, as well as a dock for the local Coast Guard.

Coordinates: 52°56′06″N 4°31′26″W / 52.935°N 4.524°W / 52.935; -4.524
Nefyn (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈneːvɨn]) is a small town and community on the north west coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, Wales. Historically in Caernarfonshire, it has a population of 2,602. Nefyn is popular with visitors for its sandy beach, and has one substantial hotel. Welsh is the first language of almost 73% of its inhabitants. The A497 road terminates in the town centre. The community includes Edern.
History
The history of the area can be traced back to 300 BC with the Iron Age hillfort of Garn Boduan overlooking Nefyn. The remains of 170 round stone huts and ramparts are still visible on top of the 917 feet (280 m) hill.
The earliest known reference to Nefyn in documents dates from the latter part of the 11th century, when it is mentioned as a landing place of the Welsh prince, Gruffudd ap Cynan.
Gerald of Wales, writing in his account of a journey around Wales in 1188, says that he slept at Nefyn on the eve of Palm Sunday.
