James Churchward (February 27, 1851 – January 4, 1936) is best known as a British born occult writer. However, he was also an inventor, engineer, and skilled fisherman. Churchward is most notable for proposing the existence of a lost continent, called Mu, in the Pacific Ocean. His writings on Mu are considered to be pseudoscience.
James was born in Bridestow, Okehampton, Devon at Stone House to Henry and Matilda (née Gould) Churchward. James had four brothers, George Gould (1839–1924), Matthew Henry (1841–1915), William Gould (1844–1913), and Albert (1852–1925), and four sisters, Matilda (b. 1846), Elizabeth (1849-?), Eleanor Steed (1847–1881), Heroine Roey(1854–1946). In November 1854, James' father died and the family moved to Matilda's parent's home Northcotts Cottage, in the hamlet of Kigbear, near Okehampton, Devon. Census records indicate the family next moved to London when James was 18 years of age after his grandfather George Gould died.
He was the elder brother of the Masonic author Albert Churchward (1852–1925.) He was a tea planter in Sri Lanka before coming to the US in the 1890s. In James' biography entitled My Friend Churchey and His Sunken Continent, he discussed Mu with Augustus Le Plongeon and his wife in the 1890s. He patented NCV Steel, armor plating to protect ships during World War I, and other steel alloys. After a patent-infringement settlement in 1914, James retired to his 7+ acre estate on Lake Wononskopomuc in Lakeville, Connecticut, to answer the questions from his Pacific travels. In 1926, at the age of 75, he published The Lost Continent of Mu: Motherland of Man, which he claimed proved the existence of a lost continent, called Mu, in the Pacific Ocean.
A lost continent is land supposedly existing during prehistory that has since disappeared.

The Pacific Ocean is the largest of the Earth's oceanic divisions. It extends from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the Southern Ocean (or, depending on definition, to Antarctica) in the south and is bounded by Asia and Australia in the west and the Americas in the east.
At 165.25 million square kilometers (63.8 million square miles) in area, this largest division of the World Ocean—and, in turn, the hydrosphere—covers about 46% of the Earth's water surface and about one-third of its total surface area, making it larger than all of the Earth's land area combined.
The equator subdivides it into the North Pacific Ocean and South Pacific Ocean, with two exceptions: the Galápagos and Gilbert Islands, while straddling the equator, are deemed wholly within the South Pacific. The Mariana Trench in the western North Pacific is the deepest point in the world, reaching a depth of 10,911 metres (35,797 ft).
The eastern Pacific Ocean was first sighted by Europeans in the early 16th century when Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa crossed the Isthmus of Panama in 1513 and discovered the great "southern sea" which he named Mar del Sur. The ocean's current name was coined by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan during the Spanish circumnavigation of the world in 1521, as he encountered favourable winds on reaching the ocean. He called it Mar Pacifico, which in both Portuguese and Spanish means "peaceful sea".

In the 1920s famed researched and occultist, James Churchward, wrote a series of groundbreaking books about the lost continent of Lemuria which he called the land of Mu. His basic premises were that the Garden of Eden was not in the Middle East, but on a sunkencontinent in the Pacific Ocean and the Biblical story of creation came from this now sub-merged continent of Mu. James Churchward, this documentary attempts to prove the existence of an antediluvian civilization that serves as the homeland of mankind.
Being that racial issues have been mentioned, discussed, and dissected in the news on a frequent basis, it seems like a good time to discuss James Churchward's theories with regard to race. This presentation expands upon an email exchange last year and is based solely on my thoughts and impressions.
El continente perdido de Mu (The Lost Continent of Mu).

Lemuria, as a lost Pacific Ocean continent, was popularised by James Churchward (1851–1936) in a series of books, beginning with Lost Continent of Mu, the Motherland of Man (1926), re-edited later as The Lost Continent Mu (1931).[8] Other popular books in the series are The Children of Mu (1931), and The Sacred Symbols of Mu (1933). Churchward claimed that "more than fifty years ago," while he was a soldier in India, he befriended a high-ranking temple priest who showed him a set of ancient "sunburnt" clay tablets, supposedly in a long lost "Naga-Maya language" which only two other people in India could read. Having mastered the language himself, Churchward found out that they originated from "the place where [man] first appeared—Mu or Lemuria." The 1931 edition states that “all matter of...

Mu was first brought about in the 19th Century as basically Atlantis, by a man named, augustus le plongeon. Later, in the early 1900's, a man named James Churchward popularized this theory and placed the continent in the Pacific Ocean based on his own research and findings. He wrote down a lot of info into a book series he wrote, the first of which being, "The Lost Continent of Mu." This episode will be talking about how the Pacific Ocean affects climates and weather around the world, and how if we had another continent that would disrupt everything we know. Leave a like and some feedback! Thanks for watching.
