John Stanmeyer (born March 1964), is a celebrated American photojournalist based in Otis, Massachusetts.

He is best known for his contributions to TIME Magazine and National Geographic. His work centered on Asian and Middle-Eastern political and human rights issues for the past 11 years and more recently on the environment and susatainability. Stanmeyer has received many honors including the Robert Capa, Magazine Photographer of the Year, as well as numerous World Press and Picture of the Year awards. He won a 2008 National Magazine Award for Photojournalism.

His career began in Tampa, Florida at the Tampa Tribune where he began working on international assignments traveling to various African and European countries and India. He then shifted his focus to freelance work on Asian and Middle-Eastern events. His photographs are known for their powerful depictions of human suffering. His current project is a book on AIDS in Asia co-authored by his wife, Anastasia Stanmeyer.^{[citation needed]}

Ron Haviv (1965) is a photojournalist, producing work covering a broad spectrum of international conflict. He is the author of several photographic collections and the recipient of a number of awards. Haviv is also a co-founder of VII Photo Agency, which is dedicated to documenting change, conflict, and development of individuals, cultures and societies worldwide. He also lectures at universities, conducts workshops worldwide, and has appeared on a number of television news shows.

A graduate of New York University, Ron Haviv has covered conflict and other humanitarian crises worldwide since the end of the Cold War. Haviv is known for his broad documentation of the Yugoslav Wars: the battle of Vukovar in Croatia, the Siege of Sarajevo, the atrocities committed at Serb concentration camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the practice of ethnic cleansing as exhibited by Arkan's Tigers.

He has also photographed the city of Juárez, a battleground of the Mexican Drug War where civilian, law enforcement and cartel member casualties occur daily. Additionally, Haviv is noted for his coverage of the destruction of the 2010 Haiti Earthquake, as well as the subsequent Cholera epidemic, and celebrity support and involvement in its reconstruction. Haviv's photography also sheds light on malnutrition in Bangladesh, clashes between Los Angeles gangs and police forces, the 2009 Afghan presidential elections, the Sri Lankan Civil War, the struggle for children in Darfur, among many other situations of conflict.

John D McHugh (born 1973) is an Irish photojournalist and filmmaker, and is based in London, England.

McHugh was born in London to Irish parents. Moving back to Ireland when he was an infant, he grew up in a rural farming community. He returned to London in 1997, and in 2002 he began working as a photojournalist. He freelanced for The Associated Press and The Guardian newspaper before becoming a staff photographer at Agence France-Presse in 2005. In 2007 he resigned his position and once again became a freelancer.

Self-taught, McHugh has worked extensively in Afghanistan since the start of 2006. He was one of the first journalists to cover the Canadian deployment in Kandahar, and witnessed and photographed one of their very first operations to raid a bomb-making facility. The Canadians captured 10 Taliban suspects, and McHugh’s photographs caused a controversy in Canada.

He was the first journalist to spend time with British forces after they took command of the southern Afghan province of Helmand in May 2006. His photographs of foot patrols through Lashkar Gah and of British soldiers silhouetted as they stand on a fort built by Alexander the Great were some of the first photographs that the British public saw from Helmand.

She was Time magazine's director of photography until June 30, 2008. She managed the photography department of the newsweekly along with Michele Stephenson for over twenty years. Among her professional contributions to Time, Golon led the photography team that produced the Hurricane Katrina special edition and the September 11, 2001 special black-bordered edition, each winning National Magazine Awards for single issue topics. Golon has received numerous individual picture-editing awards from the POYi (Pictures of the Year International) and the NPPA's (National Press Photographer’s Association) Best of Photography competitions.

Golon was the on-site photography editor for Time magazine during the first Gulf War in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. She was directly involved in the production of scores of award-winning Time covers and special editions. She coordinated Time's photographic coverage of the Olympic Games for sixteen years.

Ed Kashi (born November 16, 1957) is an American photojournalist and member of VII Photo based in the Greater New York area. Kashi's award-winning work spans from high-end print photojournalism to experimental film. He is most noted for documenting contemporary sociopolitical issues.

Ed Kashi's work on the plight of the Kurdish people and the impact of the oil industry upon the impoverished Niger Delta has provided extensive photojournalistic reporting of these global issues. In addition, he is known for his coverage of religious strife both in America and abroad. Most notable would be his work documenting the Protestant community in Northern Ireland, the lives of Jewish settlers in the West Bank, and the strife between the Shiites and Sunnis in Iraq.

Kashi and his wife, Julie Winokur, are co-founders of a non-profit multimedia company called Talking Eyes Media. Talking Eyes Media was created in 2002 to deliver issue-orientated stories to the general public. Some of the stories covered by Talking Eyes Media/Ed Kashi are: Aging in America,Denied: The Crisis of America's Uninsured and The Sandwich Generation. Aging in America was further the subject of a book published by powerHouse books and named by American Photo Magazine as one of the best photo books of 2003.^{[citation needed]}Aging in America also received an award from Pictures of the Year, World Press Photo and two Freddie Awards(2005).^{[citation needed]}
