Outspoken Brisbane lawyer Stephen Keim repeats concerns about state's anti-bikie laws

A prominent Brisbane barrister has again criticised Queensland's anti-bikie laws.
Stephen Keim spoke about the human rights implications of the legislation at a legal conference on the Gold Coast today.
This week, the ABC revealed Mr Keim had been overlooked for a Queensland Government brief, even though he had been recommended by the state's crown solicitor.
Mr Keim says the Government made a mistake by looking for a quick-fix solution on outlaw bikies.
"I think it will generate long-term problems for our community and I think that the public are already coming to realise aspects of this," he said.
"In terms of being a simple political solution, I'm sure that the people who argued for this legislation probably don't see it in the same attractive light as they did three or four months ago."
Palaszczuk: 'we would fix the laws'
The State Government has accused the Opposition of hypocrisy for supporting the legislation in Parliament last year but later criticising it.
Labor leader Annastacia Palaszczuk says the laws are unworkable in practice, but she will not commit to repealing them.
"It's their laws, they can fix them now," she said.
"What would Labor do? We would fix them.
"We would have a judicial inquiry, a full judicial inquiry, to get these laws right."
