Government considering other options on Metro rail project

Premier Denis Napthine is considering changes to the Metro rail project because it would divide central Melbourne 'like the Berlin wall.'

Under the proposed route, the construction of the tunnel would see large parts of Swanston Street, including Flinders Street Station, out of action for up to two years.

Dr Napthine says the disruption from that proposal would be too great.
