Great racing. Absolutely love IndyCar. Next year the schedule looks a little bad but Miles "promises" that better venues are coming and IndyCar will be moving for more international races... you know... I'd like to be optimistic but an experienced IndyCar fan would know that next year is probably all we're gonna get except maybe another random street race... Does anyone remember the "Korean" and "Hawaiian" Grand Prix ideas back in the day? :D Frankly, I want IndyCar to go more international if it isn't at a huge detriment to the series. I liked Brazil and sad to see it gone next year. But hey... maybe Miles will be different... maybe IndyCar can finally move foward a little quicker? One can hope. Also, there's only 9 cars for the finale of Fontana... do you all still want me to upload the Indy Lights race? It was actually kinda boring.

I hate to sound like a jerk and I'm very very glad that those involved in the crash were ok. But Houston is not "too dangerous". It's a very dangerous and unforgiving track that's similar to older fashioned street tracks and it's a little too bumpy but this isn't a repeat of Las Vegas. Any track that's not a complete Tilkedome is going to be more dangerous. So if you're one of the racing fans that complains about how "too safe" Tilkedomes are, you cannot forget that. Heck even in F1 the wrecks on street tracks can get pretty brutal. Look up videos of F1 and GP2 crashes at Monaco, Singapore, and Valencia and you'll see that what happened here wasn't really that out of the ordinary. I want racing to be safe. I never want to see race car drivers dying. But at the same time, if you believe modern racing is "too tame"... then this is the alternative. So unless you'd want IndyCar to race on Abu Dhabi-like tracks, the massive amounts of complaining needs to stop being so mindless. BTW, the grand stands needed to be better placed. Putting it that close on the OUTSIDE of a fast corner was not smart so I'll side with the majority opinion on that one. Just my 2 cents. Enjoy the race.

For those who hated this race. I LOVE this track. Motorsports have gotten a little sterile to me. While I still really like F1. The tracks the FIA homogenates always turn into some kind of super clean super smooth tilkedome with massive runoffs. IndyCar's Houston is such a rough and tumble track that I don't even really care if there wasn't a whole lot of passing. The cars just jump and struggle on this track so much that it's just fun to see these guys wheel it as fast as they can and they get so ragged. That's why I love IndyCar over any other open wheel series. The tracks, while occasionally can be unprofessional (Baltimore's issues... and Houston's T1 issues earlier this weekend), can be such a rugged bullring. On top of it, the way the IndyCars generate downforce doesn't generate the massively turbulent air that F1 and GP2 cars dump out. And it just makes the racing all the better on a track that, in every right, shouldn't provide racing as good as we saw this round. (Watch the 2006 ChampCar Houston race on youtube if you don't believe me) Enjoy this race guys. Nice to see some old ChampCar tracks getting some new IndyCar time just to see how far IndyCar really has come since the reunification.
