Dave Van Ronk - Clouds (Both Sides Now)
Live at Jabberwocky Club - Syracuse, NY - February 1969 "Joni Mitchell.. I may have been the first New Yorker to fall in love with her. She was still living in Detroit when we met. Clouds - Joni didn't like my tampering with her title for this one. She insisted (justifiably) that the original title (Both Sides Now) be included. Still, though, she did entitle her next album Clouds." - Dave Van Ronk Rows and flows of angel hair And ice cream castles in the air And feather canyons everywhere I've looked at clouds * that way But now they only block the sun They rain and snow on everyone So many things I would have done But clouds got in my way I've looked at clouds from both sides now From up and down, and still somehow It's cloud illusions I recall I really don't know clouds at all Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels The dizzy dancing way you feel As ev'ry fairy tale comes real I've looked at love that way But now it's just another show You leave 'em laughing when you go And if you care, don't let them know Don't give yourself away I've looked at love from both sides now From give and take, and still somehow It's love's illusions I recall I really don't know love at all Tears and fears and feeling proud To say "I love you" right out loud Dreams and schemes and circus crowds I've looked at life that way But now old friends are acting strange They shake their heads, they say I've changed Well something's lost, but something's gained In living every day I've looked at life from both sides now From win and lose and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all I've looked at life from both sides now From up and down, and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all- published: 12 Nov 2013

#14 Green, Green Rocky Road | Dave Van Ronk | Inside Llewyn Davis OST
Artists : Dave Van Ronk Written by Len Chandler and Robert Kaufman. ---------------------x-------------------- Lyrics : When I go by Baltimore, Leave no carpet on the floor. Come along and follow me. We'll go down to Galilee. Green, green rocky road Promenade in green Tell me who ya love, Tell me who ya love. See that crow up in the sky He don't walk, he just fly He don't walk he don't run Just keep on flappin to the sun Green, green rocky road Promenade in green Tell me who ya love, Tell me who ya love. Little miss jane runnin' to the ball Don't you stumble don't you fall Don't you sing and don't you shout When I sing come runnin' out Green, green rocky road Promenade in green Tell me who ya love, Tell me who ya love. Hooka, dooka , soda cracker, Does your mamna chew tobacker? If your mama chew tobacker, Hooka, dooka soda cracker. Green, green rocky road Promenade in green Tell me who ya love, Tell me who ya love. When I go by Baltimore, Leave no carpet on the floor. Come along and follow me. We'll go down to Galilee. Green, green rocky road Promenade in green Tell me who ya love, Tell me who ya love. ------------------x------------------------ Belongs to Nonesuch Records Inc. & WMG.- published: 27 Jan 2014
