John Whyte (pastoralist)
John Whyte (1826 – 16 February 1902) was a pastoralist and businessman in the early years of South Australia. He was born in Kinross, Scotland. He was a partner with James Counsell in the grocery wholesaler and Murray paddle steamer firm Whyte, Counsell & Co. (until 1884) as well as owner of significant sheep runs. He married the widow Louisa Heath, a sister of James Counsell, on 18 May 1854.
Early life
Whyte was born in Kinross in 1826. one of his schoolteachers was a nephew of Robert Burns, the Scottish poet, and schoolmates included Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman who later became Prime Minister of Great Britain. He served an apprenticeship in Dunfermline as a draper and milliner then opened his own shop in Galway, Ireland. His brother William Whyte had migrated to the Victorian gold rush, and John Whyte migrated to Adelaide in 1853, his first employment being in Louisa Heath's drapery in Hindley Street, Adelaide.
Whyte, Counsell & Co.
Whyte, Counsell & Co. were wholesale grocers and shipowners. James Counsell (Louisa Heath's brother), John and William Whyte established the grocery firm of Whyte, Counsell and Co. In 1864 they built a large building in Currie Street, Adelaide. They also owned several Murray River steamers which were loaded with goods from their warehouse and sold along the Murray-Darling river system.

John Whyte (politician)
John Whyte (January 4, 1838 – September 16, 1924) was a Scottish-born merchant and political figure in Quebec. He represented Mégantic in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1884 to 1886 as a Liberal.
He was born in Dunfermline, the son of John Whyte and Elspeth Simpson. Whyte was educated in Fife and came to Canada East in 1858. In 1859, he married Harriet Donaldson Johnson. He worked at the Harvey Hill mine until 1862 and then was foreman at the mine in Sutton. He became a merchant at Leeds (later Saint-Pierre-de-Broughton) in 1865. He was elected to the Quebec assembly in an 1884 by-election held after George Irvine was named a judge. Whyte was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1886 and 1892. He died in Leeds at the age of 88.

The most important sacrificial animal in the original Indo-European religion was the horse - The very power of their kings depended on an elaborate ritual horse sacrifice. In this video we will look at the rite of horse sacrifice in various Indo-European traditions in order to get an idea of why the Proto-Indo-Europeans considered it such an important royal ritual and what it looked like. There is horse sacrifice in the Vedas so we begin with the enormous Ashvamedha in India, and move on to Rome's October Horse rite and end on old Norse written sources combined with archaeological evidence from the Nordic Bronze age through to the Viking age - we get a pretty clear picture of the gruesome and often sexual rituals associated with the inauguration of kings and the necessary solar horse sacrifice. Whyte Yarcowie is a town and locality in the Australian state of South Australia. It is on the Barrier Highway between Hallett and Terowie.The town of Yarcowie was surveyed in 1875. First land was released to settlers in the district of Yarcowie in March 1872. The name is said to be Aboriginal (Ngadjuri) for "Wide Water". The name changed to Whyte Yarcowie in 1929 after early pastoralist John Whyte. The railway station on the Peterborough railway line was opened in 1880, but the railway closed in the 1980s.
The Yarcowie Hotel (formerly the Commercial Hotel) on the Barrier Highway opened around 1881. A second hotel - also then known as the Yarcowie Hotel or Globe Hotel - operated between 1875 and 1893.The 2016 Australian census which was conducted in August 2016 reports that Whyte Yarcowie had a population of 51 people.Whyte Yarcowie is located within the federal division of Grey, the state electoral district of Stuart and the local government area of the Regional Council of Goyder.

Dr. Chris Knobbe is an ophthalmologist and Associate Clinical Professor Emeritus, formerly of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas, Texas. He is also the founder and president of Cure AMD Foundation, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to the prevention of vision loss from age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Dr. Knobbe has a deep interest in general nutrition, particularly as it relates to chronic degenerative disease, though his primary area of expertise is with the disorder AMD. AMD is the leading cause of irreversible vision loss and blindness in people over the age of 65, currently affecting approximately 196 million people worldwide.
Dr. Knobbe’s research efforts and revolutionary hypothesis for the nutritional basis of AMD have resulted in a published scientific paper, a book – Ancestral Dietary Strategy to Prevent and Treat Macular Degeneration – a website, CureAMD.org, and a second book currently in the making. Knobbe’s current research focuses substantially on omega-6 seed oil consumption as a major unifying driver of the chronic degenerative diseases of civilization, including AMD.

The most important sacrificial animal in the original Indo-European religion was the horse - The very power of their kings depended on an elaborate ritual horse sacrifice. In this video we will look at the rite of horse sacrifice in various Indo-European traditions in order to get an idea of why the Proto-Indo-Europeans considered it such an important royal ritual and what it looked like. There is horse sacrifice in the Vedas so we begin with the enormous Ashvamedha in India, and move on to Rome's October Horse rite and end on old Norse written sources combined with archaeological evidence from the Nordic Bronze age through to the Viking age - we get a pretty clear picture of the gruesome and often sexual rituals associated with the inauguration of kings and the necessary solar horse sacrifice. This video is mainly based on the recent study on the same subject by Kaliff & Oestigaard.

Aretha Brown is an Gumbaynggirr Artist, Activist and YouTuber who made headlines following her speeches at both the 2017 and 2018 Invasion Day Protests in Melbourne. In 2017 Aretha was elected the first female Prime Minister of the National Indigenous Youth Parliament. Browns first painting ”Time is on our Side, You Mob", was also in the 2019 Top Arts exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). Her artwork and activism centres around her political status as a young Indigenous Australian, and her push for the teaching of black history to be mandatory within state schools. Aretha has since appeared in the new ABC TV documentary "Will Australia ever have a black Prime Minister?". She now operates her own independent Youtube channel - speaking about politics, culture and art in her own Australian context.
This channel acknowledges and honours all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders whose land we are on. We recognise that this video is made on stolen land and that sovereignty has never been ceded. I also pay respect to my elders, past, present and future.
