Morrissey will return to the U.S. for a two-month tour in 2014, launching May 7 in City National Civic Center Auditorium in San Jose, Calif., and wrapping in June at the Barclays Center Arena in New York.

Tom Jones will support the former Smiths singer on a May 10 show in Los Angeles, and Sir Cliff Richard will open the Barclays date. Singer, songwriter and keyboardist Kristeen Young will be his special guest on all dates.

Health problems forced Morrissey to cancel more than a month of U.S. dates in 2013.

Morrissey plans to release a new album, recorded in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli, later this year. It will be his first album since 2009's “Years of Refusal.” Also, after the success of his 2013 “Autobiography,” which spent five weeks atop U.K. best-seller lists, he's been working on a novel.

Morrissey's band on the tour will features guitarists Boz Boorer and Jesse Tobias, bassist Solomon Walker, drummer Matthew Walker and keyboardist Gustavo Manzur.
