The instrumental space-themed effort may have worked well in the midst of the undue hype that Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind were glutting the media with. That said, modern listeners may find the concept trite and at times, downright boring. It is against that backdrop that Buchanan's typically aggressive fretwork is somewhat incongruously juxtaposed. This certainly doesn't discount the drive and passion of his fiery solos, or his profound ability to carve out poignant textures with undeniable heart and unquestionable precision. An apt example is the extended and subdued "Fly...Night Bird." Behind the rote and otherwise perfunctory support, the guitarist soars, swoops, and glides with the nobility of an eagle and the grace of a swan. The cover of Joe Walsh's "Turn to Stone" fares an even more precarious fate, as the compelling and scathing electric opening drifts into a laid-back smooth jazz vibe, which is resolved by a rather milquetoast mid-tempo rhythm over which Buchanan arranges his shredding and soulful leads. Gary St. Clair (vocals) is featured on the adeptly executed rendering of Neil Young's "Down by the River." It pales in comparison to the versions from Live in Japan (2003), or the seminal Buck & the Snake Stretchers (1971). Even the high energy and open-throttled rocker, "Supernova," seems to lack the grit and authenticity needed to take the tune from its over-produced state to a suitable vehicle for Buchanan's unmitigated talents. Ardent enthusiasts may find You're Not Alone more appealing than the average listener. However, the general consensus is that there are infinitely more valid examples available of the guitarists' arguably unmatched prowess.

Plot
After wearing a wire to catch a dirty colleague selling confiscated drugs, detective Jack Kempson is hated by his colleagues. He also gets 'promoted away' to the basement, where old files get transferred to the national computer database. Thus he comes across fingerprints, now identifiable, in the 30 year old case of Ashley, the kidnapped son of lottery winners. Although he's too late to help him now, he tracks the perpetrators down behind his boss's back.

Plot

While not exactly a 180-degree rotation from the thoroughly enjoyable funk-fest on A Street Called Straight (1976), Roy Buchanan's subsequent album, You're Not Alone (1978), is an exceedingly more polished affair with a completely new cast of studio musicians. The instrumental space-themed effort may have worked well in the midst of the undue hype that Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind were glutting the media with. That said, modern listeners may find the concept trite and at times, downright boring. It is against that backdrop that Buchanan's typically aggressive fretwork is somewhat incongruously juxtaposed. This certainly doesn't discount the drive and passion of his fiery solos, or his profound ability to carve out poignant textures with undeniable heart and unquestionable precision. An apt example is the extended and subdued "Fly...Night Bird." Behind the rote and otherwise perfunctory support, the guitarist soars, swoops, and glides with the nobility of an eagle and the grace of a swan. The cover of Joe Walsh's "Turn to Stone" fares an even more precarious fate, as the compelling and scathing electric opening drifts into a laid-back smooth jazz vibe, which is resolved by a rather milquetoast mid-tempo rhythm over which Buchanan arranges his shredding and soulful leads. Gary St. Clair (vocals) is featured on the adeptly executed rendering of Neil Young's "Down by the River." It pales in comparison to the versions from Live in Japan (2003), or the seminal Buck & the Snake Stretchers (1971). Even the high energy and open-throttled rocker, "Supernova," seems to lack the grit and authenticity needed to take the tune from its over-produced state to a suitable vehicle for Buchanan's unmitigated talents. Ardent enthusiasts may find You're Not Alone more appealing than the average listener. However, the general consensus is that there are infinitely more valid examples available of the guitarists' arguably unmatched prowess.

Patrick Joseph "Pat" Buchanan (
/bjuːˈkænɨn/; born November 2, 1938) is an American paleoconservative political commentator, author, syndicated columnist, politician and broadcaster. Buchanan was a senior advisor to American Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, and was an original host on CNN's Crossfire. He sought the Republican presidential nomination in 1992 and 1996. He ran on the Reform Party ticket in the 2000 presidential election.
He co-founded The American Conservative magazine and launched a foundation named The American Cause. He has been published in Human Events, National Review, The Nation and Rolling Stone. He was a political commentator on the MSNBC cable network, including the show Morning Joe until he was indefinitely suspended during early January 2012 and fired the following month. Buchanan is also a regular on The McLaughlin Group.
Buchanan was born in Washington, D.C., a son of William Baldwin Buchanan (Virginia, August 13, 1905 – Washington, D.C., January 1988), a partner in an accounting firm, and his wife Catherine Elizabeth (Crum) Buchanan (Charleroi, Washington County, Pennsylvania, December 23, 1911 – Oakton, Fairfax County, Virginia, September 18, 1995), a nurse and a homemaker. Buchanan had six brothers (Brian, Henry, James, John, Thomas, and William Jr.) and two sisters (Kathleen Theresa and Angela Marie, nicknamed Bay). Bay served as U.S. Treasurer under Ronald Reagan. His father was of Scottish, English, and Irish descent and his mother was of German ancestry. He had a great-grandfather who fought in the American Civil War in the Confederate Army. He is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and admires Robert E. Lee. Of his southern roots, Buchanan has written:

Roy Buchanan (September 23, 1939 – August 14, 1988) was an American guitarist and blues musician. A pioneer of the Telecaster sound, Buchanan was a sideman and solo artist, with two gold albums early in his career, and two later solo albums that made it on to the Billboard chart. Despite never having achieved stardom, he is still considered a highly influential guitar player. Ranked #57 on the Rolling Stone list "100 Greatest Guitarists of all Time," Guitar Player praised him as having one of the "50 Greatest Tones of all Time."
Roy Buchanan was born in Ozark, Arkansas, and was raised there and in Pixley, California, a farming area near Bakersfield. His father was a sharecropper in Arkansas and a farm laborer in California. Buchanan told interviewers that his father was also a Pentecostal preacher, a note repeated in Guitar Player magazine but refuted by his older brother J.D. Buchanan told how his first musical memories were of racially mixed revival meetings he attended with his mother Minnie. "Gospel," he recalled, "that's how I first got into black music." He in fact drew upon many disparate influences while learning to play his instrument (though he later claimed his aptitude derived from being "half-wolf"). He initially showed talent on steel guitar before switching to guitar in the early 50s, and started his professional career at age 15, in Johnny Otis's rhythm and blues revue.

Christopher Francis Ocean (born Christopher Breaux; October 28, 1987), better known by his stage name Frank Ocean, is an American singer-songwriter from New Orleans, Louisiana. Breaux made an early career as a ghost-writer for artists such as Justin Bieber, Bridget Kelly, Aramide Makinde and John Legend. In mid 2010 he became a member of OFWGKTA premiering on Domo Genesis' track, "SteamRoller". In February 2011, he released his debut mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra to critical acclaim. He released two singles; "Novacane" and "Swim Good". Both singles achieved chart success. Ocean went on a 7 show tour through North America and Europe promoting the mixtape. He is currently located in New York City.
The mixtape caught the interest of recording artists such as Kanye West, Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z, and he appeared on Watch the Throne. He co-wrote the popular track "Thinking About You" for Bridget Kelly. On January 5, 2012, the BBC announced that he had finished in second place in the BBC's Sound of 2012 poll. Ocean is currently working on his debut studio album, set to be released in the first half of 2012, while the same year he appeared at Coachella and he is scheduled to appear at Lollapalooza.

Pedro Herrera III (born September 5, 1979 in Houston, Texas), better known by his stage name Chingo Bling, is an American rapper and producer of Mexican descent. Chingo earned a scholarship to attend the Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey, part of an effort by his parents to keep him away from the corrupting influences of the urban environment.
In early 2006, Chingo Bling made headlines when he drew the attention of major record labels eager to sign him because of his unique lyrical abilities, notably Bad Boy Latino, Thizz Latin Records, Universal Records, Asylum (owned by Warner Music Group), Capitol Records, and Atlantic Records. On April 1, 2006, he made the announcement on Chicano Radio Network that he has signed a distribution deal with Asylum Records. While he still maintains his independent status from the label, his distribution deal will manage to give him major financial backing for his upcoming projects.
Chingo Bling had been criticized for the title of his second album They Can't Deport Us All. He was interviewed on CW39 News and said his family tamale truck has been shot at, vandalized and eventually on one occasion stolen. He also stated he has been receiving extreme racist threats from many Latinos, but still does not wish to change his album's title. Chingo also alleges that he was refused the opportunity to appear at a scheduled in-store album signing at a Dallas shopping mall as a direct result of the controversy surrounding his clothing and album name. He also asserts that he is the target of numerous Conservative journalists and right wing bloggers who criticize him because of his music and marketing concepts related to immigration.
