Katherine Lavern Wooldridge - February 7, 1926 - October 17, 2011 Katherine (Kay) Lavern Wooldridge (Odom) passed away in Dallas from a pulmonary embolism. She was born in Lexington, Oklahoma to Tom and Orbie Odom. Katherine was married to Warren Rucker Wooldridge while he was serving in the Air Force. During World War II she worked at Tinker Field in Oklahoma City as a “Rosie the Riveter,” to help out the war effort. They lived in Oklahoma City and raised their two girls. After her husband died in 2002, she moved to Dallas to live with her daughter, Laura Carr. Kay was not the typical Mother. She never wanted to stay home. She got involved in Skillman Church of Christ, Farmers Market Friends, Arts District Friends and the American Institute of Wine & Food. She lived life to the fullest and loved every day she had. She is survived by her two daughters, Pam O’Connor (husband Dick) of Oklahoma City and Laura Carr of Dallas. Grandchildren, Traci Chrisman (husband Steve) of Dallas, Darci O’Connor of Oklahoma City and Korbyn O’Connor (wife Tiffany) of Dallas. Great grandchildren, Seth O’Connor of Oklahoma City, Ally & Drake Chrisman of Dallas and Noah and Dawson O’Connor of Dallas. She has one surviving sister Peggy Smith of Oklahoma City and a number of nieces and nephews. Kay was called home to be with the Lord Monday, October 17th. She knew that this life is temporary and her home was in heaven. Because of you Mother, we know that too. Our tears are not for you, but for us because we were not ready to let you go. Thank you for teaching us to love one another and the Lord.
