The Persian Empire Documentary
The Persian Empire Documentary
The Persian people[23] are an Iranian people who speak the modern Persian language[24] and closely akin Iranian dialects and languages.[25][26] Their origins are traced to the ancient Iranian peoples, themselves part of the Indo-Iranian branch of the greater Indo-European peoples. The term Persian translates to "from Persis" which is a region north of the Persian Gulf located in Pars, Iran. It was from this region that Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Achaemenid empire, united all other Iranian empires (such as the Medes), and expanded the Persian cultural and social influences by incorporating the Babylonian empire, and the Lydian empire. Although not the first Iranian empire, the Achaemenid empire is the first Persian empire well recognized by Greek and Persian historians for its massive cultural, military and social influences going as far as Athens, Egypt, and Libya.[27] Besides modern Iran (Persia), ethnic Persians are also found in Central Asia (Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan) where they are usually called "Tajiks" and "Farsiwans", as well as in southern Iraq (Babylonia), a region which has been historically an integral part of Persia. Some names such as "Tat",[28] "Tajik",[29] "Sart" and "'Ajam"[30] have also been used, especially by Arabs and Turks, in reference to Persians. The terms Parsi, Tajik, Irani, and Tat have been used interchangeably for Persian and Persian-speakers during the Middle Ages, forexample in the Mughal, Safavid and Qajar[31][32] era. The Persians of Central Asia who inhabit Tajikistan and parts of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan are also called Tajiks,[33][34][35] while the term Tajik is contemporaneously also used for Iranian people who speak Pamiri languages. Persians have generally been a pan-national group often comprising regional people who often refer to themselves as "Persians" and have also often used the term "Iranian" (in the ethnic-cultural sense)[citation needed]. Some scholars, mechanically identifying the speakers of Persian as a distinct ethnic unit (the 'Persians'), exclude those Iranians who speak dialects of Persian, However, this approach can be misleading, as historically all ethnic groups in Iran, were always referred to, collectively, as Iranians (Irani).- published: 12 Nov 2013

Aryan peoples (Persian Empire) - Achaemenid kings
In this video you will watch Achaemenid kings (Cyrus the Great, Xerxes the Great, Darius king III, general Surena"in Parthian Empire" and ancient Persian peoples) This video is only one part of Aryan people's history, about ancient Persia and Achaemenid kings, Persian people are kindly people and they respect to all kind of people, religions and races. Here I wrote a little Persian history to read: Cyrus the Great the first king of Achaemenid Empire respected the customs and religions of the lands he conquered. Cyrus the Great in the Bible: Cyrus the Great is mentioned 23 times by name and alluded to several times more. The earliest epigraphically-attested reference to the word "Aryan people" occurs in the 6th century B.C. Behistun inscription in Iran. -Darius The Great or Darius I , Behistun Inscription's translation. "I am Darius the Great King, King of Kings, King of countries containing all kinds of men, King in this great earth far and wide, Son of Hystaspes, an Achaemenian, a Persian, Son of a Persian, an Aryan, having Aryan lineage." Van Fortress or Xerxes the Great Inscription in Turkey. Translation: "I am Xerxes, the great king, the king of kings, king of all kinds of peoples with all kinds of origins, king of this earth great and wide, the son of king Darius, the Achaemenid. King Xerxes says: King Darius, my father, by the grace of Ahuramazda built much that was good, and he gave orders to dig this niche out, but because he did not make an inscription, I ordered this inscription to be made." The world's first declaration of human rights "Cyrus Cylinder" was discovered in the ruins of Babylon in Mesopotamia and a replica of the cylinder is kept at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City as the first symbol of universal human rights. Naqsh-e Rajab is one very old rockface inscriptions in Iran that was made by Shapur I the Great, second Persian king of the Sasanian Empire in 240 CE. Here Shapur I calls himself " King of Kings of the Iranians, and non-Iranians, King of Kings of the Aryans, grandson of the divine king Papak." "In Armenian sources, the Parthians, Medes and Persians are collectively referred to as Aryans." -R.W. Thomson. History of Armenians by Moses Khorenat'si. Harvard University Press, 1978. Iran::Persepolis::Cyrus the Great
Cyrus the Great respected the customs and religions of the lands he conquered. It is said that in universal history, the role of the Achaemenid empire founded by Cyrus lies in its very successful model for centralized administration and establishing a government working to the advantage and profit of its subjects. In fact, the administration of the empire through satraps and the vital principle of forming a government at Pasargadae were the works of Cyrus. Aside from his own nation, Persia (modern Iran), Cyrus the Great also left a lasting legacy on the Jewish religion through his Edict of Restoration, where because of his policies in Babylonia, he is referred to by the people of the Jewish faith, as "the anointed of the Lord" or a "Messiah".
Cyrus the Great is also well recognized for his achievements in human rights, politics, and military strategy, as well as his influence on both Eastern and Western civilizations. To date, Cyrus the Great and his historical signature define the national identity for many Iranians.Cyrus and, indeed, the Achaemenid influence in the ancient world also extended as far as Athens, where many Athenians adopted aspects of the Achaemenid Persian culture as their own, in a reciprocal cultural exchange.

OTTOMAN HAREM
Harem refers to the sphere of women in what is usually a polygynous household and their enclosed quarters which are forbidden to men. It originated in the Near East and came to the Western world via the Ottoman Empire.
The word harem is strictly applicable to Muslim households only, but the system was common, more or less, to most Oriental[clarification needed] communities, especially where polygyny was permitted.
The Imperial Harem of the Ottoman sultan, which was also called seraglio in the West, typically housed several dozen women, including wives. It also housed the Sultan's mother, daughters and other female relatives, as well as eunuchs and slave servant girls to serve the aforementioned women. During the later periods, the sons of the Sultan also lived in the Harem until they were 16 years old, when it was considered appropriate for them to appear in the public and administrative areas of the palace. The Topkapı Harem was, in some senses, merely the private living quarters of the Sultan and his family, within the palace complex. Some women of Ottoman harem, especially wives, mothers and sisters of sultans played very important political roles in Ottoman history, and in times it was said that the empire was ruled from harem. Hürrem Sultan (wife of Süleyman The Magnificent, mother of Selim II) and Kösem Sultan (mother of Murad IV) were the two most powerful women in Ottoman history.
It is claimed that harems existed in Persia under the Ancient Achaemenids and later Iranian dynasties (the Sassanid Chosroes II reportedly had a harem of 3000 wives, as well as 12,000 other women) and lasted well into the Qajar Dynasty. The women of the Persian royal harem played important though under-reported roles in Iranian history, especially during the Iranian Constitutional Revolution. However, this claim is disputed by some Persian historians.
Moulay Ismail the Bloodthirsty, Alaouite sultan of Morocco from 1672 to 1727, is said to have fathered a total of 525 sons and 342 daughters by 1703 and achieved a 700th son in 1721. He had over 500 concubines.

Esther ( /ˈɛstər/; Hebrew: אֶסְתֵּר, Modern Ester Tiberian ʼEstēr), born Hadassah, is the eponymous heroine of the Biblical Book of Esther. According to the Bible, she was a Jewish queen of the Persian king Ahasuerus. Ahasuerus is traditionally identified with Xerxes I during the time of the Achaemenid empire.
