Yucaipa, California
Yucaipa (/juːˈkaɪpə/ ew-KY-pə) is a city located 10 miles (16 km) east of San Bernardino, in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 51,367 at the 2010 census, up from 41,207 at the 2000 census. According to San Bernardino County, the projected population in 2012 is 58,187.
Yucaipa has the distinction of being the former, longtime home of a large population of Serrano Indians and was also known for being the home base of what is now Stater Bros. Markets (founded in 1936, and now headquartered in San Bernardino).
Geography
Yucaipa City is located in the southwestern United States, in southeastern California, approximately 80 miles (130 km) east of Los Angeles. This city is approximately 2,600 ft (790 m) above sea level.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 27.8 square miles (72 km2), with 0.04 percent being water.
Parks
Yucaipa is home to Yucaipa Regional Park, Flag Hill Veterans Memorial Park, Seventh Street Park, "I" Street Park, and Wildwood Park. Recently added was the Yucaipa Community Park, the Bryant Glen Sports Complex, the Rick McCowan Regional Soccer Complex, as well as the newly established Wildwood Canyon State Park.

We are selling our 1982 Southwind Motorhome by Fleetwood. It is 33 feet long and we have updated the interior with all new furniture including Captain Chairs, Sofa/Sleeper, Barrel Chairs, Dinette and rear Bed. Also has new refridgerator, hood plus many other items. It has a Chevy 454 with 82,000 miles that runs great! Has a Driver's side door. We replaced the 2 twin beds in the back and made it a full bed. Sofa pulls out to a bed, Dinette folds down to a bed, Drop down bunk over the cab. Overall it sleeps 7-8 comfortably. Trekaroo - Wildland's Conservancy Oak Glen Preserve, Oak Glen, CA
http://www.trekaroo.com/activities/wildlands-conservancy-oak-glen-preserve-yucaipa-california This area has changed so much since we started visiting eight years ago. And only for the better. The Preserve now is home to the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden and the Children's Outdoor Discovery Center. The (just over) 2 mile loop is a great introductory hike. (Mind you it does get hot on the trail at certain seasons-bring water!). The two miles are broken down into individual trails as well, including the Tree Trail (my favorite-hike amongst the redwoods with quotes on rocks from my favorite philosophers).

If you're looking for a taste of New England in sunny Southern California, Oak Glen is a wonderful place you won't want to miss.
More than 60 varieties of apples are grown in Oak Glen, making it the largest apple growing region in Southern California. Here, you'll find everything from tart pink pearls to sweet honey crisps and everything in between.
There are about 10 different Oak Glen apple farms along Oak Glen Road, and each offers its own unique charm.
Start at Oak Tree Village, where you can grab breakfast at the historic Law's Coffee House or Apple Annie's, then head to Colonial Chesterfield, for a tour through its living history displays or a hayride through the orchards.
At Riley's Log Cabin Farm, you can try your hand at tomahawk throwing, make a corn husk doll, press your own cider, or pick your own Oak Glen apples. (You have to pay for them of course).
Each bakery sells its own famous hot apple pies, caramel apples, and apple butter, but for a real treat stop at Snow-Line Orchard, where you can sample fresh cider doughnuts rolled in cinnamon sugar. It's heaven in a bag.
While you're there, watch the workers press fresh cider, then head inside for a sample of three varieties, which are flash pasteurized for safety.

This area has changed so much since we started visiting eight years ago. And only for the better. The Preserve now is home to the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden and the Children's Outdoor Discovery Center. The (just over) 2 mile loop is a great introductory hike. (Mind you it does get hot on the trail at certain seasons-bring water!). The two miles are broken down into individual trails as well, including the Tree Trail (my favorite-hike amongst the redwoods with quotes on rocks from my favorite philosophers).

JDRF prioritizes its funding for type 1 diabetes research in four interrelated therapeutic areas: autoimmune therapies, β-cell therapies, prevention of complications, and glucose control. Each therapeutic area encompasses a diverse portfolio of research programs that span from exploratory to preclinical proof-of-principle and on to clinical proof-of-concept research. The organization’s overarching strategy focuses on addressing critical gaps and challenges, catalyzing innovative and transformational research, advancing and translating research, creating collaborations, and accelerating time lines at all stages of research development. To facilitate downstream partnering and follow-on funding, JDRF increasingly supports product development by “de-risking” projects, thereby decreasing the barriers of entry for future funders. Wildwood Canyon State Park includes 900 acres. Ranchers and miners staked claims in the area and it was called Hog Cañon (Spanish word for canyon) until the 1920s. To protect the area from future development, the Wildland Conservancy was instrumental in the establishment of the Wildwood Canyon State Park in 2003. The Yucaipa Valley Conservancy is working with the California State Parks to add 3,500 acres to Wildwood Canyon State Park. Today, Wildwood Canyon offers recreational opportunities for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, sightseeing, and cultural events.
Home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna, Wildwood Canyon preserves ancient oak woodlands and hosts diverse wildlife, including multiple species of birds, mice, and snakes. Mule deer and desert cottontail share Wildwood Canyon with bobcats, black bears, gray foxes, and skunks. Cougars use the canyon as a travel corridor from the San Bernardino Mountains. Founded by parents determined to find a cure for their children with T1D, JDRF expanded through grassroots fundraising and advocacy efforts to become a powerhouse in the scientific community with more than 100 U.S. locations and six international affiliates. Wildwood Canyon State Park includes 900 acres. Ranchers and miners staked claims in the area and it was called Hog Cañon (Spanish word for canyon) until the 1920s. To protect the area from future development, the Wildland Conservancy was instrumental in the establishment of the Wildwood Canyon State Park in 2003. The Yucaipa Valley Conservancy is working with the California State Parks to add 3,500 acres to Wildwood Canyon State Park. Today, Wildwood Canyon offers recreational opportunities for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, sightseeing, and cultural events.
Home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna, Wildwood Canyon preserves ancient oak woodlands and hosts diverse wildlife, including multiple species of birds, mice, and snakes. Mule deer and desert cottontail share Wildwood Canyon with bobcats, black bears, gray foxes, and skunks. Cougars use the canyon as a travel corridor from the San Bernardino Mountains. Founded by parents determined to find a cure for their children with T1D, JDRF expanded through grassroots fundraising and advocacy efforts to become a powerhouse in the scientific community with more than 100 U.S. locations and six international affiliates. We’ve funded nearly $2 billion in research to date and made significant progress in understanding and fighting the disease.
