KRASS in Lingbi, Anhui Province, China Between November 3rd to 4th 2013, Krass drove to the city Lingbi, Anhui province, China to draw with the local children and color up their life. Krass has three outstanding volunteers who helped us with this Krass mission. Our volunteers were an artist from Shanghai, a professor of Art from Shanghai University, a famous Shanghai Piano player and Bianca. After 2.5 hours going with the speed train (300km/h) to Suzhou Dong, we drove one hour to Lingbi city. After a nice lunch with the mayor of the city and sponsors, we were driving again 1 hour to the school. At school 50 children were playing on a barrel or trumpet for us, when we entered their school. It was quite overwhelming for us, as the children never saw a foreigner in their life and were so excited to see us. Bianca had to give a short speech about Krass in English and got translated by Ma Nan to Chinese. After the welcome ceremony, we handed drawing material to all kids, which was sponsored from a Chinese company. Finally we could draw with children. Today's topic for drawing was to draw a hand. Ma Nan and the others helped the children to draw their hands as the children were from 5 years to 15 years. It was devastating to see how happy the children were. Our art professor was creating Chinese masks with the older children, as Halloween was just around the corner. A cameraman from a TV channel was also there to film the whole event, so now everybody in Lingu Province knows that Krass exists ;-). The next day, we taught the children how to write "China" and "Germany" while using different colors. All in all we had two great days, which Krass and the children won't forget.
