Sri Jinaya namah Dear All a small video presentation on the Manasthamba Boomi Pooja at Adampakkam Jinalayam on 22-11-13 The present City Chennai and the suburbs were once a strong hold of Samanam (Jainam).This Chennai was once under Puzhal kottam .. Puzhal, Siruthavur, Mogapper, Avadi, Ayanampakkam, Kolappakkam, Meenampakkam, Vilangadupakkam, Padur, Mylapore, Sozhippalayam,Vichchur,Vilangadupakkam etc are places where temples /Thirthankar statues/ are found. Few of them were recently discovered. in recent times new Jinalayams ( Temple of Jina) were constructed at .Adhampakkam, Pammal and ,Kolaththur . Adhampakkam temple is dedicated to the First Thirthankara Sri Adhi Bhagwan Rishabhanatha. The temple is called Sri Adhi Bhagwan Jinalayam.. the presiding idol Sri Rrishabhanatha in the sanctum was discovered from the earth. A solemn function was conducted on 22-11-13 for erecting Manasthambha . for that purpose , the place ( in front of the temple) where the Manasthambha is to be placed Boomi pooja was performed. DevoteesThiru A.Kanakadoss and Thirumathi.Mallika Kanakadoss ,dedicated souls for the cause of Jinadharma officiated as Manasthamba boomi poojathikaris. Thiru kanakadoss has played a vital role in bringing out a Diary of Tamil jains living in Chennai-really a stupendous task.He is a person dedicated himself for the cause of society and religion. They have performed the pooja vidhis under the guidance of the learned Jaina scholar , Prathishtacharyar, Vani Bhushan Sri Simachandra Sastriyar. His great efforts has given us this beautiful jinalayam.He had taken efforts to erect a Manasthambham here ; in pure granite it is getting ready.
