Bonnie Shea (Mary Doran) travels west from Chicago to become the new owner of the Sunset Ranch, not realizing that her younger brother and his gangster associates have hidden a large amount of stolen cash in her luggage.
Arriving at her Arizona ranch, the city-bred gal soon befriends and charms the rugged cowhands who work there-especially Reasonin' Bates (Hoot Gibson).
The mobsters soon show up at the ranch with her brother and start making demands and ultimately kidnap Bonnie.

Lola (Shirley Booth) joins Doc (Burt Lancaster) at his Alcoholics Anonymous meeting to celebrate his "birthday" of one year of sobriety.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
In the original Broadway production of this William Inge play, Shirley Booth played Lola Delaney, the vulgar, dumpy, less-than-bright "shotgun bride" of recovering alcoholic Doc Delaney, played on stage by Sidney Blackmer, who won a Tony award for his efforts. When time came to film the play, Shirley Booth was retained as Lola, but Burt Lancaster replaced Blackmer as Doc. Although Lancaster seems far too youthful for the role, the film is a fascinating and sometimes funny study of an unhappy marriage made unhappier by the arrival of a sexy stranger. Young Marie (Terry Moore) rents a room from Lola, a tiresome creature who never stops talking, especially about the "imminent" return of her runaway dog Sheba. Doc is having enough trouble staying away from the bottle and resigning himself to his marriage without the curvaceous Marie arousing his baser instincts. The characters interact with gloomy consequences, in the typical kitchen-sink-realism style of Inge's Fifties plays, although a tacked-on happy ending, common to Fifties movie melodramas, pretends otherwise.

In the quest for alternative energy, there's a source many may have overlooked.
Not Narberth resident Bill McHugh, though. He's been exploring it ever since he built and moved into his Sabine Avenue home 46 years ago.
You could call it "squirrel power."
An Overbrook native, McHugh, who describes himself as "pushing 80," says he and his late wife, Kitty, were attracted to the location because "Sabine Avenue is such a beautiful street in the fall." They lived across the street initially, but five years later, when a lot that had been part of the recently demolished Spanish House property became available, they bought it and built their home.

Shirley Booth
Shirley Booth (August 30, 1898 – October 16, 1992) was an American stage, film, radio and television actress.
Primarily a theater actress, Booth's Broadway career began in 1925. Her most significant success was as Lola Delaney, in the drama Come Back, Little Sheba, for which she received her first Tony Award in 1950 (she would go on to win two more). She made her film debut, reprising her role in the 1952 film version, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her performance. Despite her successful entry into films, she preferred acting on the stage, and made only four more films.
From 1961 until 1966, she played the title role in the sitcom Hazel, for which she won two Primetime Emmy Awards. She was later acclaimed for her performance in the 1966 television production of The Glass Menagerie. Her final role was that of Mrs. Claus in the 1974 animated television special The Year Without A Santa Claus.
Early life
Booth was born Marjory Ford in New York City to Albert James and Virginia M. (née Wright) Ford. In the 1905 New York state census, she was listed as Thelma Booth Ford. She had one sibling, a younger sister, Jean (born in 1914). Her childhood was spent in Flatbush, Brooklyn, where she attended Public School 152.

Hoot Gibson
Hoot Gibson (August 6, 1892 – August 23, 1962) was an American rodeo champion and a pioneer cowboy film actor, director and producer.
Early life and career
Born Edmund Richard Gibson in Tekamah, Nebraska, he learned to ride a horse while still a very young boy. His family moved to California when he was seven years old. As a teenager he worked with horses on a ranch, which led to competition on bucking broncos at area rodeos. Given the nickname "Hoot Owl" by co-workers, the name evolved to just "Hoot".
In 1910, film director Francis Boggs was looking for experienced cowboys to appear in his silent film short, Pride of the Range. Gibson and another future star of Western films, Tom Mix, were hired. Gibson made a second film for Boggs in 1911. After a deranged employee killed Boggs, director Jack Conway hired Gibson to appear in his 1912 Western, His Only Son.
Acting for Gibson was then a minor sideline, and he continued competing in rodeos to make a living. In 1912, he won the all-around championship at the famous Pendleton Round-Up in Pendleton, Oregon and the steer roping World Championship at the Calgary Stampede.

In the quest for alternative energy, there's a source many may have overlooked. Not Narberth resident Bill McHugh, though. He's been exploring it ever since he built and moved into his Sabine Avenue home 46 years ago. You could call it "squirrel power." An Overbrook native, McHugh, who describes himself as "pushing 80," says he and his late wife, Kitty, were attracted to the location because "Sabine Avenue is such a beautiful street in the fall." They lived across the street initially, but five years later, when a lot that had been part of the recently demolished Spanish House property became available, they bought it and built their home.

In the original Broadway production of this William Inge play, Shirley Booth played Lola Delaney, the vulgar, dumpy, less-than-bright "shotgun bride" of recovering alcoholic Doc Delaney, played on stage by Sidney Blackmer, who won a Tony award for his efforts. When time came to film the play, Shirley Booth was retained as Lola, but Burt Lancaster replaced Blackmer as Doc. Although Lancaster seems far too youthful for the role, the film is a fascinating and sometimes funny study of an unhappy marriage made unhappier by the arrival of a sexy stranger. Young Marie (Terry Moore) rents a room from Lola, a tiresome creature who never stops talking, especially about the "imminent" return of her runaway dog Sheba. Doc is having enough trouble staying away from the bottle and resigning himself to his marriage without the curvaceous Marie arousing his baser instincts. The characters interact with gloomy consequences, in the typical kitchen-sink-realism style of Inge's Fifties plays, although a tacked-on happy ending, common to Fifties movie melodramas, pretends otherwise.

Noisey's favourite music writer John Doran, hosts a brand new series entitled The British Masters, where he will be interviewing the most influential and colourful figures from British popular music history.
First up is Roxy Music frontman, and successful solo artist, Bryan Ferry, who is currently celebrating 4 decades in music by releasing an album of his own songs performed by a swing orchestra.
In John's words "Some of these characters will be more famous than others, some better dressed, some will have better musical chops, some will have a firmer grasp on reality and some will have a better sense of balance but all of them will be masters. And by masters we don't mean people who keep slaves -- although we'll be speaking to at least three people who like to chain visitors and tradesmen up for recreational purposes. Also we don't mean the person in charge of a merchant navy vessel -- although we can't rule out the appearance of espadrilles and deck wear. These people are masters in two key senses. Firstly, they have exerted a control over us -- even if this was perhaps most keenly felt during our teenage years - the control of our intellect, aesthetic, imagination and even our sexuality. And secondly, they are artists and performers of a rare and unmistakable talent. Bryan Ferry fronted the extremely successful and forward looking art school rock band Roxy Music in the early 1970s before launching a long lasting solo career."

The Stooges are repairmen who are on trial for stealing chickens, but are found not guilty. However, Shemp opens his suit jacket, resulting in a live chicken flying out of his grip and into the face of Judge Henderson (Vernon Dent). The boys then flee the courtroom, and pursue some work.
The trio comes upon a lady customer (Kitty McHugh) whose doorbell is in need of repair. The Stooges manage to ruin most of the house while working on the wiring, ultimately clobbering the chef (Emil Sitka) who is preparing dinner at the customer's house. The irate chef abruptly quits, resulting in the Stooges being hired to prepare dinner for her husband's friend's birthday party. To their shock and horror, the party in question is for none other than Judge Henderson, and their lady customer is the Judge's wife.
Now frantic, the trio try their best to make the dinner at least partially edible. All hell nearly breaks loose when the birthday cake they prepare is accidentally pierced, deflating in the process. The cake is then "re-inflated" using town gas through the gas stove's connection.
During the party, Judge Henderson's friend blows out the candles, and the gas-filled cake explodes all over him and the judge, ruining his chance for re-election. The judge angrily realizes who the new "help" are, and the Stooges are forced to leave in a hurry.

Twenty years after her death, a statue of Princess Diana has been commissioned by her children Prince William and Prince Harry who said "the time is right to recognise her positive impact" with a permanent statue. The sculpture will be erected in the public grounds of her former residence, Kensington Palace. A sculptor has yet to be chosen but a spokesperson said work on the artwork would begin soon ... ....
