George Harrison-Ravi Shankar: Original VH1 Broadcast, promoting 'Chants Of India' Part 2/2
NOTE: For the song at the end which is cut off ('Prabhujee'), I made a music video for it here in 1080p: www.youtube.com =========================================================== This is the ORIGINAL VH1 broadcast of their 1997 interview with George, aired just after the release of his and Ravis 'Chants Of India' album. This version differs to the rebroadcast as they focus mainly on the Chants Of India album itself here and have a chat with George and Ravi. To see the Rebroadcast which has different interview material (and focuses only on George with all his acoustic performances) please go here: www.youtube.com ======================================================== Some background trivia on this interview: Harrison's final television appearance was not intended as such; in fact, he was not the featured artist, and the appearance had been intended to promote Chants of India, another collaboration with Ravi Shankar released in 1997, at the height of interest in chant music. John Fugelsang, then of VH1, conducted the interview, and at one point an acoustic guitar was produced and handed to Harrison. When an audience member asked to hear "a Beatles song", Harrison pulled a sheepish look and answered, "I don't think I know any!" Harrison then played "All Things Must Pass" and revealed for the first time "Any Road," which subsequently appeared on the 2002 Brainwashed album.
