We all know Thomas Edison, his accomplishments are legendary, over 1000 patents were issued to this prolific inventor. Nikola Tesla, noted Serbian academic, was another inventor from the same period, trained in Europe as an engineer, he emigrated to the United States where he never attained the stature of Edison but arguably accomplished more. He is the inventor of our modern electrical power grid. This video summarizes this accomplishment and the role that both Edison and Tesla played in this accomplishment.

This is a continuation of a project started on a popular energy forum. The content of the video was primarily composed to show an alternative method of energizing the SSG circuit attached to the motor. This was originally intended for discussion on the forum. However, If you arent familiar with the circuit I'll try to explain how it works.
There are two separate windings on the stator. One winding does work like a permanent magnet generator. This section produces about 2 volts. The pulse from this coil fires a power transistor. The power transistor when turned on takes THE INPUT VOLTAGE / CURRENT FROM WHATEVER POWER SOURCE IS HOOKED UP TO THE CIRCUIT BOARD and energizes the second set of windings. The second set of windings and their associated stator legs push the rotor into rotation. When the pulse ends and the power transistor shuts off the collapse of the coils creates a back spike (EMF). This spike of high voltage or an event that is associated with it can be used to charge and condition batteries. Now the catch is THERE IS NO BATTERY OR BENCH POWER SUPPLY CONNECTED TO THE CIRCUIT INPUT WHICH IS USED TO POWER THE SECOND COILS when the rotor is being moved by hand. Even if you are not a forum member, not in support of the inventors theories or perhaps not familiar at all with this type project, consider a few other points: 1. Here is a salvaged printer mains drive motor that can be used as a motor for other applications if modified correctly. 2. This is a motor without brushes running from a single transistor circuit. That in itself is very interesting to me. 3. The motor can be used as a generator in a conventional manner even without modification. 4. The popular SSG circuit has been used by thousands of people to charge and restore lead acid batteries. Believer or Basher, associated experiments have great hobby value and give a person a chance to learn something about electrical components for no more than the cost of a good flashlight. All comments are normally welcome whether you are a forum member or not. In the past I've answered any questions you might have. All I ever ask is you keep it polite. Because of the trend of negativity. Recently I've decided it wasn't worth arguing with people anymore over this video so every once and a while I disable comments and take a break. This is a follow up video to better explain High Voltage Without Power Supply I. Please note this is not an Over Unity Video. There are no claims of more output than input. The video illustrates the different methods for using a stator motor for Motor/Generator/SSG experiments. These experiments are a followup to discussions on popular energy forums and are not suggestions for people to make battery chargers based on this technology. You must be familiar with the Bedini technology, SSG circuit or other pulse charging technology before you can criticize or even fully understand what this video is about. This is not about just charging a battery. Yes, there are many ways to do that and some will certainly fit your purposes better than the pulse charging technology. Further the experiments here may not ever produce a real world application, but are intended to enhance people's hobby experience with these components. The usefulness of these experiments is based on an individuals knowledge of adapting the parts to their current energy experiments.

I'm really sorry to say getting these printer motors apart are a real task. There are so many different styles that the method can vary quit a bit also. The motors that I have been using will come apart if I hit the shaft with a heavy nylon mallet while pulling on the rotor as best I can. Keep in mind these motors seem to be assembled in a way that they are not adapt to mechanical repair. I have had some of these motors where the gear on the shaft is bigger than the inside diameter of the bearing, this is a problem that can be resolved in two ways. I put the rotor in my lathe with a live center in the end of the shaft, I then turn the gear down on the shaft until it is smaller than the inside diameter of the bearing, this usually allows the shaft and rotor to be knocked back. Another way to get the shaft out is to make a wooden block with a hole in it the size of the gear, you can then lay the motor down on the block and drive the shaft out from the back of the rotor. I use the lathe like a press to do this but a block and a brass drift which is a little smaller than the shaft could work. The rotor will come off as soon as the shaft is past the press fit in the rotor. The bad part about this is realigning the parts when you try to put them back together. I use a lock tight type material to help restore the press fit. In all cases it is advisable to polish the shaft with some emery cloth or sand paper for metal. You need to get the shaft a little looser in the bearings so you can get the rotor on and off for winding and experiments with the magnets. Once you have the rotor off you can use a small torch to heat the outside of the rotor and use a screw driver to peal the magnet away from the inside of the rotor. I don't know if this is of any help but I hope so. I've been trying to find time for a video but I don't know if I'll get to it.

12V 10AMP DC Power Supply
How to wire and test a common 12V switching power supply, suitable for 110V / 220V AC. I've been using a car battery charger as a desktop power supply for various different projects. The battery charger has a 'brain' that senses the voltage and current draw of whatever it's connected to and tries to adjust based on that. Because of that, it makes a pretty poor desktop power supply and has no user adjustable output. I bought this regulated switch mode power supply for 999 peso (22 USD). Although I've since seen people selling them for around 750 PHP (16 USD). I'm feeding live and neutral AC into the power supply (2 pin plug with crimped connectors) and taking the DC out to crocodile clips. This is a continuation of a project started on a popular energy forum. The content of the video was primarily composed to show an alternative method of energizing the SSG circuit attached to the motor. This was originally intended for discussion on the forum. However, If you arent familiar with the circuit I'll try to explain how it works.
There are two separate windings on the stator. One winding does work like a permanent magnet generator. This section produces about 2 volts. The pulse from this coil fires a power transistor. The power transistor when turned on takes THE INPUT VOLTAGE / CURRENT FROM WHATEVER POWER SOURCE IS HOOKED UP TO THE CIRCUIT BOARD and energizes the second set of windings. The second set of windings and their associated stator legs push the rotor into rotation. When the pulse ends and the power transistor shuts off the collapse of the coils creates a back spike (EMF). This spike of high voltage or an event that is associated with it can be used to charge and condition batteries. Now the catch is THERE IS NO BATTERY OR BENCH POWER SUPPLY CONNECTED TO THE CIRCUIT INPUT WHICH IS USED TO POWER THE SECOND COILS when the rotor is being moved by hand. Even if you are not a forum member, not in support of the inventors theories or perhaps not familiar at all with this type project, consider a few other points: 1. Here is a salvaged printer mains drive motor that can be used as a motor for other applications if modified correctly. 2. This is a motor without brushes running from a single transistor circuit. That in itself is very interesting to me. 3. The motor can be used as a generator in a conventional manner even without modification. 4. The popular SSG circuit has been used by thousands of people to charge and restore lead acid batteries. Believer or Basher, associated experiments have great hobby value and give a person a chance to learn something about electrical components for no more than the cost of a good flashlight. All comments are normally welcome whether you are a forum member or not. In the past I've answered any questions you might have. All I ever ask is you keep it polite. Because of the trend of negativity. Recently I've decided it wasn't worth arguing with people anymore over this video so every once and a while I disable comments and take a break. This is a follow up video to better explain High Voltage Without Power Supply I. Please note this is not an Over Unity Video. There are no claims of more output than input. The video illustrates the different methods for using a stator motor for Motor/Generator/SSG experiments. These experiments are a followup to discussions on popular energy forums and are not suggestions for people to make battery chargers based on this technology. You must be familiar with the Bedini technology, SSG circuit or other pulse charging technology before you can criticize or even fully understand what this video is about. This is not about just charging a battery. Yes, there are many ways to do that and some will certainly fit your purposes better than the pulse charging technology. Further the experiments here may not ever produce a real world application, but are intended to enhance people's hobby experience with these components. The usefulness of these experiments is based on an individuals knowledge of adapting the parts to their current energy experiments.

I'm really sorry to say getting these printer motors apart are a real task. There are so many different styles that the method can vary quit a bit also. The motors that I have been using will come apart if I hit the shaft with a heavy nylon mallet while pulling on the rotor as best I can. Keep in mind these motors seem to be assembled in a way that they are not adapt to mechanical repair. I have had some of these motors where the gear on the shaft is bigger than the inside diameter of the bearing, this is a problem that can be resolved in two ways. I put the rotor in my lathe with a live center in the end of the shaft, I then turn the gear down on the shaft until it is smaller than the inside diameter of the bearing, this usually allows the shaft and rotor to be knocked back. Another way to get the shaft out is to make a wooden block with a hole in it the size of the gear, you can then lay the motor down on the block and drive the shaft out from the back of the rotor. I use the lathe like a press to do this but a block and a brass drift which is a little smaller than the shaft could work. The rotor will come off as soon as the shaft is past the press fit in the rotor. The bad part about this is realigning the parts when you try to put them back together. I use a lock tight type material to help restore the press fit. In all cases it is advisable to polish the shaft with some emery cloth or sand paper for metal. You need to get the shaft a little looser in the bearings so you can get the rotor on and off for winding and experiments with the magnets. Once you have the rotor off you can use a small torch to heat the outside of the rotor and use a screw driver to peal the magnet away from the inside of the rotor. I don't know if this is of any help but I hope so. I've been trying to find time for a video but I don't know if I'll get to it.

How to wire and test a common 12V switching power supply, suitable for 110V / 220V AC.
I've been using a car battery charger as a desktop power supply for various different projects. The battery charger has a 'brain' that senses the voltage and current draw of whatever it's connected to and tries to adjust based on that. Because of that, it makes a pretty poor desktop power supply and has no user adjustable output.
I bought this regulated switch mode power supply for 999 peso (22 USD). Although I've since seen people selling them for around 750 PHP (16 USD).
I'm feeding live and neutral AC into the power supply (2 pin plug with crimped connectors) and taking the DC out to crocodile clips.
The output DC voltage can be adjusted from 9.8 volts to 14.6 volts. I assume the reason it goes to 14.6 volts is because that's very close to the voltage you'd want to use for charging a 12V lead acid battery (14.4V).
This box is not designed to be a desktop power supply due to potentially exposed AC . It's more suited and safer to use it in a permanent install; for example in a loft or inside an electrical box.

How to make a high voltage DC generator/power supply using a flyback transformer and a Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier or 30kV tripler. This one generates up to 30 kilovolts with milliamps of current. I demonstrate it using sparking and by powering a lifter or ionocraft.
It uses:
- 220 ohm, 3 watt resistor
- 27 ohm, 2 watt resistor
- 4700 microfarad, 35 volt electrolytic capacitor
- two 2N3055 power transistors
- flyback transformer with no additional electronics attached to it
- 30kV Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier, also known as a 30kV tripler
I show how to power it using my homemade 24 volt power supply, a simple wall adapter and a laptop power supply.

I looked at an Fujitsu esprimo mobile v5535 yesterday that didn't seem to be charging at all. As a result the battery was dead and would not power on so after testing the power brick that tested OK, I striped the laptop down to test the dc jack and found it to be faulty,
To gain access to the DC jack the laptop has to be disassembled completely which isn't something for the faint hearted !
With some laptops the DC power jack (socket) is soldered directly to the motherboard and some attached to the motherboard via a short cable assembly with a plug on the end which attaches to the motherboard. This is the type that is soldered directly to the motherboard. in this video i show you how to desolder the power jack and replace it.

Soldering Iron
solder (i use 4 core flux solder)
solder sucker

The DCP-11-DP-SW 106 watt power converter with inline switch provides a safe and effective way for users to tap into and utilize common 100 to 277 Volt AC power sources and convert this current to 12 Volts DC for use with equipment that requires 12/24 volt electrical power. This unit can be operated with input current ranging from 100 to 277 VAC and will output 12 Volt DC current at 11 amps or 24 Volt DC at 6.25 amps. This power converter features an IP67 rated waterproof design, making it suitable for indoor or outdoor use and includes integral short circuit and overload protection that will shut down the unit in case of faults and overloads to protect the unit and connected equipment from damage.
This converter comes with an included on/off switch connected inline with the converters main power cord. This allows operators to easily connect equipment and control its operation from the converter assembly rather than having to plug and unplug the unit. Also included is a straight blade plug on the input lead and a two pin Deutsch connector on the output lead, allowing users to simply plug the unit into a typical wall outlet, then connect any of our 12 volt lights equipped with Deutsch connectors. If you purchase this transformer with any of our Larson Electronics lights, we will make sure that the connectors are a match.
The switch and converter assembly is mounted to a heavy gauge metal strip with a machined oval opening on one end for easy hanging of the assembly from hooks or other convenient mounting locations. Users can also permanently mount the strip if desired. This unit is durable enough to be used as an inline converter connected between extension cords and devices, allowing users to simply connect the converter and pull the cord behind them just as they would when using any ordinary power cord.
The small size and wide input voltage range of this unit make it ideal for operating Larson Electronics LED light bars, Golights and other equipment that requires 12VDC current indoors and anywhere 12 volt DC power is not readily available. Measuring 8.7 inches long by 2.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches deep, this unit weighs less than one pound and is mounted with two conventional screws via slots that allow removal and repositioning simply by loosening the screws.

I sent it back to company I had to pay shipping) they said they would check it out to make sure I didn't misuse I received another in the mail over a month later. It work either. That makes two of that deliver enough to an I will buy of kind.

The most common types rely on the forces produced by magnetic fields. Nearly all types of DC motors have some internal mechanism, either electromechanical or electronic, to periodically change the direction of current flow in part of the motor. Most types produce rotary motion; a linear motor directly produces force and motion in a straight line.
A coil of wire with a current running through it generates an electromagnetic field aligned with the center of the coil. The direction and magnitude of the magnetic field produced by the coil can be changed with the direction and magnitude of the current flowing through it.
A simple DC motor has a stationary set of magnets in the stator and an armature with one or more windings of insulated wire wrapped around a soft iron core that concentrates the magnetic field. The windings usually have multiple turns around the core, and in large motors there can be several parallel current paths. The ends of the wire winding are connected to a commutator. The commutator allows each armature coil to be energized in turn and connects the rotating coils with the external power supply through brushes. (Brushless DC motors have electronics that switch the DC current to each coil on and off and have no brushes.)
The total amount of current sent to the coil, the coil's size and what it's wrapped around dictate the strength of the electromagnetic field created.
The sequence of turning a particular coil on or off dictates what direction the effective electromagnetic fields are pointed. By turning on and off coils in sequence a rotating magnetic field can be created. These rotating magnetic fields interact with the magnetic fields of the magnets (permanent or electromagnets) in the stationary part of the motor (stator) to create a force on the armature which causes it to rotate. Teardown, Repair and Analysis of an Agilent E3642A DC Power Supply
In this episode Shahriar attempts a repair of an Agilent E3642A DC Power Supply which is completely non-responsive. After presenting a teardown of the power supply, the GPIB interface is used to verify the functionality of the power supply. The problem is traced to the main display unit which communicated with the main power supply via a serial interface. After disassembly of the display, it is revealed that the entire unit has suffered a catastrophic failure due to the VFD display drive IC. All components must be individually removed and replaced. Installing Solar AC And DC Power In My RV Converter Box
I spent the whole day working on the RV electrical boxes and installing solar AC and DC power to the RV. The battery box that TJ and I made will have the power inverter sitting on top of it in one corner. I drilled a hole in the RV floor under the battery box for an AC wire an then another underneath the bed where the original AC converter box sits. TJ helped me run a high current AC line under the RV from the hole in the front of the RV to the whole under the bed into the AC control box. I wired up the whole thing so that the power inverter runs into the original AC control box under the bedroom area to supply AC power to the whole RV with very little modification to the original wiring. I spent the whole day working on the RV electrical boxes and installing solar AC and DC power to the RV. The battery box that TJ and I made will have the power ...
I spent the whole day working on the RV electrical boxes and installing solar AC and DC power to the RV. The battery box that TJ and I made will have the power inverter sitting on top of it in one corner.
I drilled a hole in the RV floor under the battery box for an AC wire an then another underneath the bed where the original AC converter box sits. TJ helped me run a high current AC line under the RV from the hole in the front of the RV to the whole under the bed into the AC control box.
I wired up the whole thing so that the power inverter runs into the original AC control box under the bedroom area to supply AC power to the whole RV with very little modification to the original wiring.
We also installed the new battery box bus bars and hooked up power from the batteries under the hood of the RV to the new battery box for now. Later before I move into the new RV I will bring my 6 golf cart batteries into the new battery box and hook them up.

He went on to become an Engineering Duty Officer and reported to MIT for postgraduate education. Following completion of a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a Naval Engineer Degree, Doerry continued his studies at MIT and earned a Ph.D. in Naval Electrical Power Systems.
