History of African American Music in 10 Minutes
History of African American Music in 10 Minutes
The music you will hear is not necessarily preformed by people who played during the time their type of music was created (especially the early stuff). However they are respective and true members of the musical forms they represent. It can also be argued that early forms of some of these forms began at the end of the decade that proceeds the one in which they are placed, I took some liberty in this and placed each form in the era in which it flourished most. The History of Detroit African American Political Leadership - WCHB 1200 AM - Pt 1 - Michael Imhotep
Michael Imhotep of The African History Network Show was on "Your Voice With Angelo Henderson" on WCHB 1200 AM, for our African History/African-American History Segment with Michael Imhotep of The African History Network. We dealt with "The History Of African-American Political Leadership In Detroit". Our guests for this segment was Political Consultant & host of "Detroit Want's To Know", Steve Hood, Political Scientist & Editor of The Pan-African Newswire, Abayomi Azikiwe and Historian and Historian, Lecturer and Grandmaster of African Martial Arts, Kilindi Iyi. We discussed the Political History of Detroit prior to 1973 when Coleman A. Young became Mayor and we'll look at the 40 year history of African-American Political Leadership. Many people mistakenly think that it was African-American Leadership that derailed Detroit but they however don't know that by August 1967 when the Detroit Riots happened, Detroit had already lost over 300,000 residents and was on Life Support when African-Americans took it over. Many people don't understand and don't want to talk about how policies from the Federal Government and The Big 3 helped to create African-American Blight and White Flight. We'll deal with this and much more. Listen at WCHB 1200 AM or www.WCHBNewsDetroit.com. You can download the WCHB 1200 AM or the "Tune In Radio" App to your Smartphone, Iphone, Ipad, Android Phone or Blackberry or visit www.TuneIn.com. Call in with questions at 313-298-1200. Also visit our website, www.TheAfricanHistoryNetwork.com.
