The World Resources Institute (WRI) is an environmental think tank founded in 1982 based in Washington, D.C. in the United States.

WRI is an independent, non-partisan and nonprofit organization with a staff of more than 100 scientists, economists, policy experts, business analysts, statistical analysts, mapmakers, and communicators developing and promoting policies with the intention of protecting the Earth and improving people’s lives.

WRI organizes its work around four key goals:

WRI is probably best known for its biennial publication, the World Resources report, a well-regarded collection of data and in-depth analysis on current environmental issues. The most recent edition of World Resources, entitled Decision Making in a Changing Climate, explored the challenges and choices made by leaders in developing countries in adapting to climate change. The report is a collaborative product of World Resources Institute with the World Bank, United Nations Environment Programme and United Nations Development Programme.

Bill Kramer (January 21, 1965) is a Wisconsin politician, legislator, attorney and businessman. He is the Wisconsin Assembly's current Speaker Pro Tempore.

Born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Kramer graduated from University of Wisconsin–Whitewater with a degree in accounting and received his law degree from Duke University. Kramer is the owner of an accounting business and has served in the Wisconsin State Assembly since 2007.

Caitlin Clarke (May 3, 1952 – September 9, 2004) was an American theater and film actress best known for her role as Valerian in the 1981 fantasy film Dragonslayer and for her role as Charlotte Cardoza in the 1998–1999 Broadway musical Titanic.

Clarke was born Katherine Anne Clarke in Pittsburgh, the oldest of five sisters, the youngest of whom is Victoria Clarke. Her family moved to Sewickley when she was ten.

Clarke received her B.A. in theater arts from Mount Holyoke College in 1974 and her M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama in 1978. During her final year at Yale Clarke performed with the Yale Repertory Theater in such plays as Tales from the Vienna Woods.

The first few years of Clarke's professional career were largely theatrical, apart from her role in Dragonslayer. After appearing in three Broadway plays in 1985, Clarke moved to Los Angeles for several years as a film and television actress. She returned to theater in the early 1990s, and to Broadway as Charlotte Cardoza in Titanic.

Jonathan Lash (born 1945) is the president of Hampshire College and member of the Board of Directors of the World Resources Institute where he served as president from 1993-2011.

Jonathan Lash received an A.B. from Harvard College and a law degree and master’s degrees from The Catholic University of America.

A former Peace Corps volunteer and federal prosecutor, Lash worked as a senior staff attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) from 1978 to 1985, litigating and lobbying on issues related to pollution control, federal coal leasing, strip mining, and energy conservation.

From 1987 to 1990, Lash headed the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, having served the previous two years as Vermont’s Commissioner of Environmental Conservation. During his tenure in Vermont government, Lash helped write, win enactment of and implement innovative statutes on issues ranging from pollution prevention and solid waste management to protection of pristine streams. In 1990 he became director of the Environmental Law Center at the Vermont Law School, rated the best program of its kind in the United States.
