BoxRec or boxrec.com is a website dedicated to keep updated records of professional boxers, both male and female. It also maintains a mediawiki-based encyclopaedia of boxing: BoxRec Wiki.

The objective of the site is to document every professional boxer and boxing match from the instigation of the Queensberry Rules up to the present times. BoxRec publishes ratings for all active boxers and all time ratings.

The site was founded by John Sheppard, a Yorkshireman and former systems analyst for the National Coal Board. Sheppard had never attended a boxing bout until 1995 when he attended a "Prince" Naseem Hamed fight with Hamed's older brothers Riath and Nabeel. Sheppard had considered boxing to be a "barbaric and degrading" spectacle, stating "I sat there watching people punch each other in the head, wondering why they were doing it.....I was sprayed with blood, getting more and more miserable." However, Sheppard later explained, "[D]uring Naseem's fight, something clicked in my head. The subtlety of what he was doing, the genius of it all, became obvious to me. It wasn't a disgusting spectacle anymore. It was art, and I found myself cheering."

Earnie Dee Shaver (born August 31, 1945), better known as Earnie Shavers, is an American former professional boxer. In 2003, he was listed #10 on The Ring's ranking of the 100 greatest punchers of all-time.Muhammad Ali, Joe Bugner, Larry Holmes, Randall "Tex" Cobb, Ron Lyle and Ken Norton all credited Shavers as being the hardest puncher they had ever faced in the ring.^{[citation needed]}

Shavers began boxing at the age of 22. Two weeks later he won his first fight by a first round knockout, against Jim Daniels. Earnie worked out daily in Warren, Ohio. He was in and out of the top ten ratings over a ten year period.

Shavers was rated number 10 on Ring Magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time. His right uppercut and cross were his greatest assets. Angelo Dundee respectfully noted, "He can get you out of there with any shot."

Prior to turning professional, Shavers had a short but notable amateur career. He was the 1969 National AAU Heavyweight Champion.

Known as the 'Black Destroyer', Shavers compiled an impressive record, winning 44 of his first 47 fights by knockout; mostly against unremarkable opposition. His KO streak included 27 consecutive knockouts. 20 victories were in the first round. He suffered setbacks with losses to Ron Stander and Stan Johnson.

Adrien Broner (Born 28 July 1989) is an American Professional boxer, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Adrien has been featured in the top ten of the Ring Magazine rankings for the Junior Lightweight division.

Broner had a successful amateur career of over 300 fights

Broner turned professional on 31 May 2008 and scored three consecutive first round knockouts against Allante Davis, David Warren Huffman and Ramon Flores. In Broner's fourth fight he faced Terrance Jett at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on the undercard of the Ricky Hatton vs Paulie Malignaggi fight. Broner defeated Jett with a stoppage in the sixth round. In Broner's fifth professional fight and final of 2008, he faced Scott Furney on the undercard of Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao fight. Broner stopped Furney in the first round bringing his record to 5(5)-0-0.

In January 2009 he was forced to go the distance with Jose Alfredo Lugo, at the Staples Center on the undercard of Shane Mosley vs Antonio Margarito. Broner returned to the ring in March scoring a unanimous decision over Eric Ricker. Three weeks later Broner stopped Angel Rodriguez in the fourth round. In his eighth fight Broner stepped up to eight rounds in a hard fought fight with Fernando Quintero, pulling out a majority decision. In June at the Staples Center Broner met Australian William Kickett, scoring a sixth round knockout. On the Juan Díaz vs Paul Malignaggi undercard in Houston Broner make short work of Edgar Portillo, victory coming via stoppage in the first round. Broner defeated Henry White Jr via KO in September and finished his busy year against Tommy Atencio. Broner stopped Atencio in the first round, for the sixth time in thirteen fights. Broner then had a fourth round stoppage victory over Roberto Acevedo. Broner fought 4 more times in 2010 against Rafael Lora, Carlos Claudio, Guillermo Sanchez, and Ilido Julio, stopping all of them.

Emmanuel "Manny" Dapidran Pacquiao, PLH (English pronunciation: /ˈpæki.aʊ/ PAK-ee-ow; Tagalog: [pɐkˈjaʊ]; born December 17, 1978) is a Filipino professional boxer and politician. He is the first eight-division world champion; having won six world titles, as well as the first to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes. He was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s (decade) by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA). He is also a three-time The Ring and BWAA "Fighter of the Year," winning the award in 2006, 2008 and 2009.

As of 2012, Pacquiao is the WBO Welterweight Champion. He was long rated as the best pound for pound boxer in the world by some sporting news and boxing websites, including BoxRec.com, Sporting Life and The Ring. However, in April 2012, Pacquiao dropped to number two in the rankings, behind Floyd Mayweather Jr. In their ratings ending May 7, 2012, Ring Magazine declared the top position vacant and jointly ranked Pacquiao and Mayweather in the number two spot.

Edward "Eddie" Chambers (born March 29, 1982 in Pittsburgh) is an American heavyweight boxer fighting out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Eddie started boxing professionally in 2000 at the age of 18. For the first five years, he fought unknown opponents before raising his level of competition significantly in 2005 against clubfighters Ross Puritty and Robert Hawkins.

In 2006 he took a further step upward by defeating former title challenger Ed Mahone and renowned clubfighter Domonic Jenkins (in spite of his record of only 9-5 Jenkins had beaten several prospects).

In May 2007, Chambers stopped 15–0 Derric Rossy and defeated Dominic Guinn on Shobox. Later in 2007 he took part in IBF's 4-man elimination tournament to face the current champion Wladimir Klitschko. Chambers beat Calvin Brock via split decision in semifinals, but lost unanimously to Alexander Povetkin in the final bout.

After his fight with Povetkin he won three more bouts against opponents like Raphael Butler before facing Samuel Peter on March 27, 2009 and defeated him by majority decision. He scored another decision win afterwards against Alexander Dimitrenko on July 4, 2009 in a WBO title eliminator bout, which made him the mandatory challenger for the WBO heavyweight title held by Wladimir Klitschko.
