This happened in 2004 when a Blackwater Team was attacked in their compound. The sniper, as many know, is Travis Haley. His spotter is former Navy SEAL Ben Thomas. Ben was one of my team mates in Iraq and the best friend a man could have. I will be interviewing Ben soon about this video and the attack. I wanted to make sure all of my viewers had seen it prior. Battlefield Iraq: Kurdish&Iraqi; Security Forces Heavy Intense Firefight With Al-Qaeda Affiliates
Battlefield Iraq: Heavy Intense Firefight Between Kurdish&Iraqi; Security Forces And Al-Qaeda Affiliates In Kirkuk Iraq. Heavy Fighting And Firefight In Kirkuk Iraq as several Gunmen related to Al-Qaida raided a mall located in Kirkuk province in Iraq. Civilian hostages were also taken. As the clashes continued, gunmen, some of them wearing suicide vests, stormed the adjacent mall, took shoppers hostage and moved up the five-storey complex to the roof, from where they opened fire on security personnel who attempted to enter. The gunfight lasted several hours and one armed militant was captured alive during the operation. Kirkuk has a mixed population of Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen. Thats why the local Iraqi Security Forces had help from a Kurdish Anti Terror Unit. Kirkuk lies at the centre of a swathe of territory stretching from Iraq's eastern border with Iran to its western frontier with Syria that Kurdish leaders want to incorporate into their autonomous region in the north over strenuous objections from the central government in Baghdad. Militants often exploit poor communication between the Iraqi army and Kurdish security forces to carry out attacks in the city. At least 19 people have been killed and 70 wounded after the siege on the Iraqi mall in the northern city of Kirkuk, as well as an attack on an intelligence HQ. Security forces have rescued 11 hostages, ending the mall siege. Officials have blamed the upsurge in violence to a resurgent Al-Qaeda emboldened by the civil war in neighbouring Syria, but the government has itself faced criticism for not doing enough to address the concerns of Iraq's disaffected Sunni Arab minority ahead of April elections. Despite a near-ubiquitous security force presence in major cities nationwide, attacks have hit targets ranging from cafes and football grounds to military checkpoints and government vehicles, with more than 6,200 people killed so far. The violence has forced the authorities to appeal for international help in combatting militancy. Map of Location: http://bit.ly/1m9xtAg Want to see more HD combat videos? Battlefield Iraq: Heavy Clashes And Fighting Between Insurgents And Iraqi Army In The Anbar Province
Battlefield Iraq Heavy Clashes And Fighting Between Insurgents And Iraqi Army In The Anbar Province. Heavy Fighting Firefights And Clashes In Iraqs Anbar Province. Since 2014 the Anbar Province is place of fierce fighting between Sunni Iraqi Militias and the Iraqi Army. The main area of the clashes are the citys Ramadi and Falluja where a strong sunni population is located. According to Officials and witnesses, the Iraq government mainly has lost control over the strategic citys, west of Baghdad. The renewed violence in the Sunni province has raised concern about the stability of the government amid dueling claims by the terror group and security forces over who was in control of Falluja and Ramadi. Al-Qaeda black flags have been seen on government and police vehicles captured by the fighters. The army has besieged Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province, and has launched air strikes on the city. Security forces backed by tanks on battled militants in Iraq's Anbar province, where fighting has displaced thousands and sparked warnings of rights abuses and a worsening humanitarian crisis. Some of the most significant fighting appeared to be in Falluja, where the U.S. military fought one of the bloodiest battles of the Iraq war, with militants planting al Qaeda flags on buildings. Gunmen calling themselves the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant, formerly known as al Qaeda in Iraq, took to a stage before thousands of Sunnis following Friday prayers in Falluja. The takeover of Fallujah and parts of Ramadi is the first time that tribal fighters have exercised such open control in major Iraqi cities since the height of the bloody insurgency that followed the US-led invasion of 2003. The fighting has left more than a hundred people dead and forced thousands of Falluja's residents to flee the city, to Baghdad, northern Iraq and the southern city of Karbala, where Shiite leaders are hosting the displaced families in housing built for religious pilgrims. The United States said it would speed up its deliveries of missiles and surveillance drones to Iraq as the Baghdad government battles a resurgence of Al-Qaeda linked militants. Iraq's prime minister has urged residents and tribes in Anbar province to "expel" al-Qaeda-linked fighters to avoid an all-out battle - remarks that may signal an imminent military move to retake the former insurgent stronghold. The Insurgents mainly ambushing Iraqi Army convoys in urban areas and attacking small check points and police stations with small arms, rpgs and ieds. The Iraqi Army repels with Air Strikes and armored infantry units. The ISIL rebels were trying to bring the battle to the cities of Anbar and Fallujah because there's no security there and they know they will be thoroughly defeated in the desert. The Iraqi civil war never really ended it just went off the boil for a while. Last year, the heat was turned back to high, with the number of civilian deaths from political violence doubling to roughly 8,000 people over the previous year, the highest civilian death toll since at least 2008. Officials have blamed the upsurge in violence to a resurgent Al-Qaeda emboldened by the civil war in neighbouring Syria, but the government has itself faced criticism for not doing enough to address the concerns of Iraq's disaffected Sunni Arab minority ahead of April elections. Collateral Murder - Wikileaks - Iraq
Wikileaks has obtained and decrypted this previously unreleased video footage from a US Apache helicopter in 2007. It shows Reuters journalist Namir Noor-Eldeen, driver Saeed Chmagh, and several others as the Apache shoots and kills them in a public square in Eastern Baghdad. They are apparently assumed to be insurgents. After the initial shooting, an unarmed group of adults and children in a minivan arrives on the scene and attempts to transport the wounded. They are fired upon as well. The official statement on this incident initially listed all adults as insurgents and claimed the US military did not know how the deaths ocurred. Wikileaks released this video with transcripts and a package of supporting documents on April 5th 2010 on http://collateralmurder.com- published: 03 Apr 2010

Inside Story - Al-Qaeda: Testing loyalties in Iraq?
As fighters linked to al-Qaeda take over parts of Anbar province, we ask how big a threat they pose to Iraq and Syria. To discuss this, Inside Story presenter Dareen Abughaida is joined by Mark Kimmitt, a retired brigadier general in the US army, and former military spokesman for coalition forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom; Mowaffak Alrubaie, a former Iraqi national security adviser and aide to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki; and Salah Hashimi, a legal adviser to the Iraqi League, a UK-based rights group.- published: 06 Jan 2014

Islamic State in Iraq Execute Syrian Truck Drivers الدولة الإسلامية في العراق تقوم بعدم ثلاث سائقين
The "Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL), which is the resulting entity from the merger of al-Qaeda in Iraq and Syria, is seen in this video intercepting three trucks in Iraq heading to Syria. The three truck drivers, one of whom is from Tartous, are then questioned whether they're Sunnis or Shiites (Shias). Then the hardline Wahhabi jihadist proceeds to ask them about the number of kneelings a Muslim is supposed to perform at dawn, noon, and evening prayers. After they apparently failed in answering correctly, they are taken and shot execution-style by the jihadists who, as usual, scream "Allahu Akbar!" with jubilation. The video ends with a statement threatening the "Armies of the Cross in Dabiq" to be burnt by the fire whose spark was ignited in Iraq. Dabiq is a town near Aleppo where the battle of Marj Dabiq took place on August 24, 1516, and it ended up in a decisive victory of the Ottoman Empire over the Mamluk Sultanate. Fault Lines - Iraq: After the Americans Part 1
In keeping with Barack Obama's presidential campaign promise, the US has withdrawn its troops from Iraq and by the end of 2012 US spending in Iraq will be just five per cent of what it was at its peak in 2008. In a special two-part series, Fault Lines travels across Iraq to take the pulse of a country and its people after nine years of foreign occupation and nation-building. Now that US troops have left, how are Iraqis overcoming the legacy of violence and toxic remains of the US-led occupation, and the sectarian war it ignited? Is the country on the brink of irreparable fragmentation? Correspondent Sebastian Walker first went to Baghdad in June 2003 and spent the next several years reporting un-embedded from Iraq. In the first part of this Fault Lines series, he returns and travels from Basra to Baghdad to find out what kind of future Iraqis are forging for themselves.- published: 25 Jul 2012

Untitled (Iraq) 2009
Bullet scored paraphernalia lie scattered in the dangerous wastes of central Iraq, evoking sculpture by Giacometti, Moore, Serra. Live and spent fire litter the surrounding landscape, creating an indelible image of the playfulness of destruction. The soundtrack invokes a roll of Iraqi place names, some of which are immediately recognizable to us through countless news dispatches from Iraqi wars.

Theatre of War
Shot in Saddam Hussein's hilltop palace in the mountains overlooking the River Tigris, Theatre of War is a slow, virtually static video piece redolent of classical history painting. Audio was recorded at the official US military hand-over ceremony at the nearby city of Saniya. A mullah's prayer for unity among Arabs is spoken, after which the pan-Arab national anthem, Mawtini (My Homeland) is played, emphasizing Arab national solidarity and a pan-Arab territory. Made in Iraq in March 2009.

Collateral Murder in Iraq by Wikileaks
Update: On July 6, 2010, Private Bradley Manning, a 22 year old intelligence analyst with the United States Army in Baghdad, was charged with disclosing this video (after allegedly speaking to an unfaithful journalist). The whistleblower behind the Pentagon Papers, Daniel Ellsberg, has called Mr. Manning a 'hero'. He is currently imprisoned in Kuwait. The Apache crew and those behind the cover up depicted in the video have yet to be charged. To assist Private Manning, please see bradleymanning.org. 5th April 2010 10:44 EST WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff. Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-sight, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded. The military did not reveal how the Reuters staff were killed, and stated that they did not know how the children were injured. After demands by Reuters, the incident was investigated and the U.S. military concluded that the actions of the soldiers were in accordance with the law of armed conflict and its own "Rules of Engagement". Consequently, WikiLeaks has released the classified Rules of Engagement for 2006, 2007 and 2008, revealing these rules before, during, and after the killings. WikiLeaks has released both the original 38 minutes video and a shorter version with an initial analysis. Subtitles have been added to both versions from the radio transmissions. WikiLeaks obtained this video as well as supporting documents from a number of military whistleblowers. WikiLeaks goes to great lengths to verify the authenticity of the information it receives. We have analyzed the information about this incident from a variety of source material. We have spoken to witnesses and journalists directly involved in the incident. WikiLeaks wants to ensure that all the leaked information it receives gets the attention it deserves. In this particular case, some of the people killed were journalists that were simply doing their jobs: putting their lives at risk in order to report on war. Iraq is a very dangerous place for journalists: from 2003- 2009, 139 journalists were killed while doing their work.- published: 16 Aug 2012
