Cette réception a eu lieu le samedi 28 septembre 2013 à la NON MAISON, mise en scène par l'artiste en collaboration avec l'artiste visuelle Sofia Aguiar. Sofia a dressé les tables, donnant suite à son projet « Natura in Fieri » présentée à la Biennale de Venise 2011. Michèle Cohen, à l'origine de la Résidence, et commissaire de l'exposition propose comme thématique le roman de Marguerite Duras « Le Marin de Gibraltar »ou « Jo le Rouge ». Tomás Colaço y mis en scène ses œuvres plastiques lors de ce happening où, de façon contradictoire, l'évènement devint prétexte aux œuvres même. Selon lui, ses œuvres sont créées pour servir de toile de fond à l'évènement même où peintures murales et autres ornementations coexistent avec mets culinaires et saveurs de vins. Une chambre fut spécialement aménagée par l'artiste où Fiona, voyante, reçut les visiteurs venus s'immerger dans le monde ambigu de Tomás Colaço. L'histoire de cet évènement se compose de plusieurs acteurs investis spontanément dans les préparatifs de l'Action. Ainsi ce lieu d'expérimentation sera l'occasion d'une réinterprétation du mythe d'Ulysse où la recherche prend le devant sur la finalité. En effet, l'artiste résident a ouvert dès son arrivée quotidiennement et de façon continue ce lieu privé aux voisins, passants et personnes intéressés. Le Festin marquera une mise en forme de cette recherche. Tomás Colaço (né en 1974, travaille et vit entre Lisbonne et Tanger) travaille principalement la peinture et réalise également des installations. Son œuvre se réfère à une Histoire générale, plus ou moins visible dans son travail. Tomas Colaço ne travaille pas directement sur cette Histoire, ou ne parle pas des grandes vérités empiriques, ce qui confère une certaine ambiguïté à ses œuvres. De ce fait, chaque pièce devient une pièce d'un grand puzzle, un souvenir d'une plus grande narration. On peut retrouver ses œuvres dans de nombreuses manifestations artistiques, notamment à l'Institut Camões ou encore l'institut Goethe à Lisbonne. For the occasion of The Ulysses project's step, "Le Festin" will take place at the gallery and Residence: 22, rue Pavillon, Aix en Provence. This reception starts at 6 pm, it will be displayed by the artist himself in collaboration with Sofia Aguiar, visual artist. Sofia will lay tables, pursuing her project "Natura in Fieri", displayed at Biennale de Venise 2011. Michèle Cohen, instigator of the Residence, and curator of the exhibition, propose Marguerite Duras' novel "Le marin de Gibraltar" or "Jo le rouge" as a theme. Tomas Colaço will display his pieces at this happening. In a contradictory way, the event becomes the pretext to the pieces themselves. According to him, his pieces are created as a backcloth serving the event where wall painting and ornamentations are surrounded by culinary dishes et wine flavours. A room will be specially staged by the artist, where Fiona, fortune teller, will receive visitors came to immerse themselves in the Tomas Colaço ambiguous world. This event's history is composed by many actors committed spontaneously in the preparations. So this experimental place will be set to receive a reinterpretation of the Ulysse's myth in which the research take the front on the purpose. Colaço does not elaborate on this wider history or make claims of empirical truths, allowing for ambiguity within the art object. As such, the physical piece becomes a fragment or a possible memory of the larger narrative.
