MyMusic

MyMusic was an American web transmedia mockumentary sitcom created by the Fine Brothers that premiered on April 15, 2012 on the MyMusicShow YouTube channel. The series follows a group of co-workers that are employed under a music production company. MyMusic was the first transmedia sitcom on YouTube.

Plot

MyMusic was the primary series of the MyMusicShow YouTube channel. It documented the antics of MyMusic, a transmedia production company where, rather than referring to each other by name, the staff go by the varying music genres with which they associate. CEO and founder Indie heads the team, which consists of people following extremely different (and frequently conflicting) tastes and attitudes. The company claims to have been given the YouTube original channel, and has a documentary crew filming them day to day.

Main cast and characters

Lipson

Lipson is a ward in the city of Plymouth, England. It is an affluent area with a substantial park called 'Freedom Fields', a Civil War battle site where the townsfolk of nearby Plymouth resisted substantial Cavalier raiding parties and enabled the town to sustain the royalist siege. Freedom Fields existed before the Civil War and acquired its name after the defeat there of a French invasion force two hundred years earlier.

Formerly the site of Plymouth's biggest hospital (Freedom Fields Hospital), the borough prison, and fire and ambulance stations, it now retains only the (rebuilt) fire station. Most of the housing stock is good-quality Victorian and Edwardian terraces and some good schools are available including Lipson Co-operative Academy. The area offers fine views in all directions, not least south across Plymouth Sound. A retail shopping centre, the university, and Plymouth's main railway station are all within short walking distance.

Elaine Lui

Elaine "Lainey" Lui (Chinese: 雷若芬, born September 26, 1973) is a Canadian television personality, reporter, and infotainer. She considers herself a self-proclaimed gossip maven. She pens a website, laineygossip.com, is a reporter for CTV's etalk, and is also a co-host on CTV's daily talk series The Social.

Early life and education

Lui was born and raised in Toronto. Her parents, Judy and Bernard, immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in 1970. They worked odd jobs, including washing dishes and cleaning hotel rooms. Eventually, her father found stable work as an accountant. When Lui was 6, her parents divorced and her mother returned to Hong Kong. Lui spent many summers in Hong Kong to visit her mother. Her parents reunited when she was 16.

Lui attended middle school and high school at the Toronto French School and graduated from Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute. In 1996, she graduated with a B.A. in French and history from the University of Western Ontario.

Career

After graduating from Western, she worked for Rogers Communications and trained employees to install Internet connections.

AwesomenessTV (TV series)

AwesomenessTV is an American sketch-comedy reality series based on the YouTube channel of the same name and is created by Brian Robbins. Both seasons contain 20 episodes.

On May 1, 2014, Nickelodeon announced that the series had been renewed for a second season which premiered on May 5, 2014.

Production

The show is based on the YouTube channel and multi-channel network of the same name, featuring original content and existing content already on the channel. On August 27 2013, Nickelodeon picked up 7 more episodes to add to Season 1, bringing the freshman season up to 20 episodes.

Plot

This show is hosted by Daniella Monet as she presents sketches, music videos, and hidden camera antics.

Some episodes would also have some young celebrities who would guest host an episode.

Marie Odee Johnson

Marie Odee Johnson (July 23, 1897 – September 25, 2004) was an American who was one of the last surviving female veterans from the First World War. As a Yeoman (F), Johnson was among the first group of women to serve in the United States Navy in a non-nursing capacity.

Biography

Marie Odee Johnson was born in Quincy, Illinois, but her family moved to Dallas, Texas, when she was an infant. She was serving as a secretary with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Dallas when the United States entered World War I. Two of her brothers joined the Armed Forces and her sister was a Red Cross Nurse. The Navy recruiting office was near her office and the men who worked there convinced her that she would have a better job in the Navy. Johnson joined up at age 20. She didn't tell her "single parent father" that she joined at first. However, when she told her father that "he'd have to put a fourth star in the window" he congratulated her.

Johnson was one of 12,000 women (other than nurses) who worked for the Navy "handling clerical duties in the United States to free men for fighting." Johnson was stationed in New York City and Washington, D. C. during the war. She recalls that there were no facilities or barracks for women in the Navy at the time and so she and the other Yeomen were given $90 a month for room and board on top of their $30 a month salary.
