It snowed a little yesterday afternoon, woke up and it's snowing again. It's pretty cold for this time of year all of a sudden,. It was in the 80's a couple of days ago, now it's 40. My steps are icy and slippery too, my poor dog slipped running up the steps. It'll surely be summer again in a few days!
My tulips just bloomed 24 hours ago, now they're covered with snow.

For the metropolitan area, see Las Vegas Valley. For other uses, see Las Vegas Las Vegas, /lɑːs ˈveɪɡəs/ (locally, also pronounced as /lɑːs ˈvɛɡɨs/) officially the City of Las Vegas and often known as simply Vegas, is a city in the United States, the most populous city in the state of Nevada, the county seat of Clark County, and the city proper of the Las Vegas Valley.[5] Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort city known primarily for gambling, shopping, fine dining and nightlife and is the leading financial and cultural center for Southern Nevada. The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its mega casino–hotels and associated entertainment. A growing retirement and family city, Las Vegas is the 30th-most populous city in the United States, with a population of 603,488 at the 2013 United States Census Estimates.[6] The 2013 population of the Las Vegas metropolitan area was 2,027,828.[4] The city is one of the top three leading destinations in the United States for conventions, business, and meetings and is one of the wealthiest major cities in the country.[7] [8] In addition, the city's metropolitan area has more AAA Five Diamond hotels than any other city in the world, and is a global leader in the hospitality industry.[9][10] Today, Las Vegas is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.[11][12] Established in 1905, Las Vegas was incorporated as a city in 1911. At the close of the 20th century, Las Vegas was the most populous American city founded in that century (a similar distinction retained by Chicago in the 19th century). The city's tolerance for numerous forms of adult entertainment earned it the title of Sin City, and has made Las Vegas a popular setting for films, television programs, and music videos. Las Vegas is generally used to describe not just the city itself, but areas beyond the city limits—especially the resort areas on and near the Las Vegas Strip—and the Las Vegas Valley. The 4.2 mi (6.8 km) stretch of South Las Vegas Boulevard known as the Las Vegas Strip is in the unincorporated communities of Paradise, Winchester, and Enterprise, located in Clark County

--------------------------------------------- Click here: http://binaryoptionstradingz.com/best-way-make-money-with-binary-option-phuong --------------------------------------------- Produced by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, "Las Vegas 360: Travel & Tourism" looks at the positive impacts of tourism on the Southern Nevada Community. Starting at the northeast corner of Flamingo Road and walking north you will pass several hotels. All have something to offer the first time tourist. For now, let’s just walk up and down the center strip without going into the hotels. The following stroll past thirteen center strip hotels is about a mile and a half long and is a great way to acclimate yourself to Vegas. 3595 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 - (800) 227-2279 The Barbary Coast opened in 1979 with 150 rooms and still has less than 200. It is one of a dozen Las Vegas casino properties (including Sam’s Town and the Stardust) owned by Boyd Gaming, a publicly owned gaming company that trades on the New York Stock Exchange. With $2 billion in revenues, Boyd Gaming also owns casinos in several other states. Take note that there is a shuttle pickup area on the Barbary Coast’s south side on Flamingo Avenue (right across from Ballys.) This is where you can get picked to go to other hotels (such as the Rio and Palms) that are west on Flamingo. 3555 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 - (800) 732-2111 The Flamingo is one of four hotels on the Las Vegas center strip owned by Caesars Entertainment. The others are Caesars Palace, Paris and Bally’s. Previously known as Park Place Entertainment Corp., Caesars is $4.5 billion public company that trades on the New York Stock Exchange. Steeped in Vegas history, the Flamingo was one of the first hotel/casinos on the strip originally opening on New Year’s eve in 1946. The 105 room hotel was built on a dusty road in the middle of nowhere by mobster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel who was murdered six months later. It became the Flamingo Hilton in 1971 before being sold to Caesar’s in 1999. It now has more than 3,500 rooms and one of the best pool areas on the strip. 3535 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 - (800) 634-6441 ...is certainly not a luxurious hotel but it has inexpensive room rates and its location is ideal. The oriental-themed hotel built in the shape of a Japanese pagoda has been open for 4 decades. It is famous for its massive vintage automobile collection and its "Legends in Concert" show which has been running for more than 20 years. Originally with 180 rooms, it now has 2,700 rooms which it manages to keep pretty full. Decided to take on a trail I have never been on before, during a slight snow storm. Thankfully I wore Jungle Boots so I didnt run into any issues with the water I ended up falling into slightly near the midway point. Ruck had about 30 lbs of dry weight (steel plate) and started with 16 lbs of water and gear in my ruck (3lt source water bladder + 1lt of electrolytes in a vesper bottle, and 7 lbs of extra survival gear and clothing in case I get screwed) , this is not an easy hike with weight in snow and probably rain, lots of areas you can slip and potentially fall, I almost lost footing multiple times at some spots with slick rocks hidden under the snow, but nothing major other than sore shoulders from the ruck. that extra weight can carry you off the side if you are not careful though. Elevation gain is around 1900 ft, Not , I started it from the steamboat waterworks entry gate, which adds about 1.7 miles to to the trail head there and back on top of the 5.2 mile trail head to the falls. So it turns into about 4.3 mile up and than down, comes out to about 16 - 17 minute average mile for the entire hike / ruck run Time was around one hour 20 minutes to the falls, and back just over an hour with a slight short cut at the end, I was doing mostly a slow run (ruck run) for almost the entire hike besides some very steep inclines. I stopped a few times to adjust my jungle boots, as they were not completely broken in I found out half way up the trail. I rate this trail 4.5 out of 5. I will return in a month when its spring to try it again. I'll get better quality next time, as my internet sucks and I couldn't upload the full quality, as it would take a few days hehehe.

Though the summit is tame by most standards, the summit provides an exceptional view of the Lakes Basin below it, as well as views of Sierra Buttes, Weber Peak, and the Bald Mountain Range/Sardine Peak to the South/SE; Mt. Lassen can also been seen to the NW on a clear day. If you can resist the temptation of jumping into Long Lake Long Lake TrailFrom the parking lot at Elwell Lodge, take the "Silver Lake" Trail. This trail later forks, take the "Long Lake" fork. It will fork yet again, take the "Long Lake Trail", which is not on the Topo (see trailhead sign image) Plumas NF sign this trail follows the east side of Long Lake and connects with the Trail that runs along the base of Elwell. When I hiked this Trail, there was a log blocking the beginning of it, apparently placed by the Forest Service. This trail is not damaged or difficult to follow; it may be difficult to follow in the winter though, so if you are doing it then, I suggest bringing a GPS because you cannot see the lake most of the time. Once you've crossed the dam, head NW until you connect with the summit trail; follow this trail to the summit This is were we stayed Elwell Lakes Lodge The lush forests and scenic grandeur of the High Sierra welcomes the vacationer to Elwell Lakes Lodge. Nestled in a pine and fir forest at the end of a mountain road, it will take you back to an earlier era when you reach your destination. Built in 1920, the lodge has retained its rustic qualities while providing all of the modern amenities. Still owned and operated by the original family, we take pride in offering our guests the same homey atmosphere that attracted our first customers. Cozy housekeeping cabins provide the perfect "basecamp" for families, couples or individuals to enjoy the pleasures of the outdoors without sacrificing comfort. Each cabin has all of its pots, pans, dishes and linens provided plus kitchen and bathroom facilities. All you need to bring is your food! Our recreation building with its huge fireplace and our lounge building with its spectacular view of the area have many books and games to offer those who stay in camp. For those who love hiking and fishing, the Lakes Basin area is the perfect place to come. Numerous well-marked and maintained trails radiate from Elwell Lakes Lodge. A climb to the top of Mt. Elwell, 7,812 feet above sea level, affords a panoramic view of this wonderful lake region that is indescribable. For the fisherman, 23 lakes within a three-mile radius of the lodge, provide many a day of enjoyment fishing from the shore. On Long Lake, just three-quarters of a mile from the lodge, we provide rowboats for our guests to use for fishing or just floating lazily around. Swimming in our creek-filled pool or in one of the many nearby lakes is delightful during the warm summer days. Whatever your interests, fishing, hiking, or just reading a book by a mountain stream, Elwell Lakes Lodge is the perfect place to come to spend your vacation. Check out my snowshoeing adventure on the 76 and Iron Creek trails as I hike through deep snow in the rain and sleet going 6 miles out to an idyllic camping spot near Iron Creek Lake. With a pack weight of 29 lbs. including 1 liter of water, food and all my gear I set out in snowshoes on the 76 trail. Starting off at the Spearfish Canyon Lodge in Savoy right outside of Spearfish a couple miles up the Spearfish Canyon, it slowly began to rain. I remember someone in the parking lot looking at me like I was stupid as I donned my poncho. Everyone else at the lodge was getting on their snowmobiles and here I was about to hike in the rain. I had a lot of new gear, as always, that I wanted to put to the test in just these conditions. This was the first time I’d got a chance to test this flimsy poncho to see if it was waterproof and would take the cold. It’s much lighter than the US Military poncho I have but definitely not comparable. I was missing my military poncho halfway through this trip. The MSR Evo snowshoes handled everything I threw at it but I left the tails at home. Starting off on the 76 trail there was a path in the snow leading all the way up to the lookout point. The trip up the .6 mile path is ALL uphill ending with a beautiful view of the Spearfish Canyon at the lookout. Right behind the provided bench is a path leading down the hill to a road and a mountain biking/off roading trail. I headed North on that path to connect up with the Iron Creek Trail then headed West to camp near the Iron Creek Lake. The rain got heavy and then finally turned to snow shortly before it stopped for the day. The poncho held out and did its job. The only people I actually saw out on the trail were a group of 4 snowmobilers so I got to enjoy the trip in solitude. The path I took is a connecting point for a small network of trails running through the area. I think I could spend a year exploring them all. I ended my day at my favorite camping spot just between the dam and Pettigrew Gulch because of the water access and in case of emergencies 2 roads are within a short hiking distance. My Kelty Ignite 0 degree sleeping bad was not keeping me warm. I had to add a Sea to Summit Reactor Plus sleeping bad liner, a down jacket around my wait and some closed cell foam insulating pads under my butt and feet to stay comfortable enough to sleep. I kept all my electronic gear and anything that could freeze, in a Sea to Summit stuff sack and put it in my sleeping bad. I tested a Nalgene insulating sleeve on one of my 1 liter Poweraid bottles to see if it could keep my water from freezing but I soon had to put that in the sleeping bag too because the top water started to freeze into a block. My new Black Diamond Moji 100 lumen lantern worked perfect. Just like turning on a bedroom light switch at night. It flooded the tent with a bright 360 downward spray of light. It also dims and when turned off it retains the previous dim setting so you’re not blinded when turning it back on in the middle of the night. On other winter trips I would practically freeze to death going outside to pee and had a difficult time getting warmed up again to sleep so this time I planned on peeing in a Poweraid bottle. Other than trying to contort in a 3 foot tall and slanted roofed tent to pee and getting leg cramps in the process, it worked. I only had to leave the tent once...during the leg cramping. LOL. With all my gear layered around me I kinda slept till 7 a.m. and skipped my normal morning camping routine opting instead to call my wife for an early pickup. I packed everything up easily while in the tent and upon breaking down the tent found that my dead man anchors were now blocks of ice. I had to chisel them out with my Mora Bushcraft knife to get them out. Glad I didn't cut that out of my pack for weight savings. Now I can go back with a different sleep system...adding the Kelty bag to the patrol bag and gortex bivy of the MMSS. I know I’ll be warm in that. I will also bring an external pack to carry that sleep system and wear a Frogg Toggs rain suit if I can get my hands on a good one. I’ll switch out my shelter in favor of the Nemo Transform Tarp Tent so I can have more space to sit up, move around, cook and pee. And I think I might actually bring gators this next trip. LOL. Thanks for watching guys and if you have any questions about this gear ie…certain items, their weights and my experience with them, just drop me a comment or a PM. Big News Network 2015-04-10Nevada (i/nəˈvædə/ or /nəˈvɒdə/) is a state in the western, mountain west, and southwestern regions of the United States. Nevada is the 7th most extensive, the 35th most populous, and the 9th least densely populated of the 50 United States. Over two-thirds of Nevada's people live in one single county, Clark County, which contains the Las Vegas–Paradise metropolitan area, where the state's three largest incorporated cities are located. Nevada's capital is Carson City.
Nevada is largely desert and semiarid, with much of it located within the Great Basin. Areas south of the Great Basin are located within the Mojave Desert, while Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains lie on the western edge. Approximately 86% of the state's land is owned by the US government under various jurisdictions, both civilian and military.
The name Nevada is derived from the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains, which means "snow-capped mountain range" in Spanish. The land comprising the modern state was inhabited by Native Americans of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe tribes prior to European contact. It was subsequently claimed by Spain as a part of Alta California until the Mexican War of Independence brought it under Mexican control. The United States gained the territory in 1848 following its victory in the Mexican-American War and the area was eventually incorporated as part of Utah Territory in 1850. The discovery of silver at the Comstock Lode in 1859 led to a population boom that was an impetus to the creation of Nevada Territory out of western Utah Territory in 1861. Nevada became the 36th state on October 31, 1864.
A spring creek is a type of free flowing river whose name derives from its origin: an underground spring or set of springs which produces sufficient water to consistently feed a unique river. The water flowing in a spring creek may be additionally be fed by snow pack or rain run-off, as in most traditional free-flowing rivers, but often the entire water source for a spring creek is an aquifer or other underground water source. For this reason, spring creeks are often filled with very pure, clean water and also demonstrate water flows that are smooth, consistent, and unwavering throughout the seasons of the year - unlike rivers filled with run-off or spring and summer melt-off from snow pack, whose water flows, water clarity, and water conditions often vary highly over the course of the year. In addition, water temperatures in spring creeks tend to vary less throughout the seasons of the year than traditional creeks and rivers because they are fed by underground water sources. Because of the depths of these water sources, spring creeks often emerge from their source or headwaters very cold and stay that way over the length of their runs. In addition, due to the consistent water flows and the fact that spring creek water is "pushed" by the force of pressure from the source rather than "pulled" by the force of gravity downhill, spring creeks can flow through very flat sections of land with minimal depths over grades that might not sustain run-off creeks and rivers. In these low-grade or flat sections of spring creeks, water flows can appear almost laminar with the surface of the creek appearing to be nearly flat and without the prominent riffles and surface disturbances caused by more rough or uneven surface bottoms found below free-stone run-off creeks and rivers surfaces.
