Pacu Jawi-Payakumbuh (Cow Race).flv
This Cow Race Festival is very common in West Sumatra, Indonesia. This one is located in Payakumbuh City, just about 100 miles to the north of Padang City (The Capital Of West Sumatra). It's told that, even it seems like a normal festival, but there's some magic power which controls the festival. This Festival of Pacu Jawi (cow race) is organized always after harvesting of rice. So then it would be easier for the farmer to process the land before again it will be used to plant the rice. This festival (which is Payakumbuh society organize) is not only about how strong and fast the cow is, but it's also about how fast the "jokey" could see and watch, and how strong that "jokey" could run.
