Roque Baños
Roque Baños López (born 1968) is a Spanish music composer whose place of birth is Jumilla, a municipality in the Spanish region of Murcia. Baños graduated from Boston's Berklee College of Music in 1995 and has since scored both Spanish and English-language films. He has received numerous awards for his compositional work, including the Spanish Goya Award for Best Original Score in both 2008 and 2009.
Education
Baños has been involved in music his whole life, his father being a saxophonist, and he himself completed a basic saxophone degree at the Upper Music Conservatory of Murcia. In 1986, Baños moved to Madrid where he attended the Real Conservatorio Superior and continued his musical studies, obtaining professional degrees in the saxophone, piano, harmony, counterpoint, composition, instrumentation and conducting. In 1993 he received a grant from the Ministry of Culture to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, and it was as a student at Berklee that he would develop his aspirations to compose film scores and jazz.

Roque
Roque /ˈroʊk/ is an American variant of croquet played on a hard, smooth surface. Popular in the first quarter of the 20th century and billed "the Game of the Century" by its enthusiasts, it was an Olympic sport in the 1904 Summer Games, replacing croquet from the previous games.
Roque court and equipment
Roque is played on a hard sand or clay 30 by 60 foot (approximately 9 by 19 m) court bordered by a boundary wall, a curb bevelled at the ends to form an octagon. Players use this wall to bank balls similarly to how billiard balls are played off the cushions of a billiard table.
The wickets, called arches, are permanently anchored in the court. The arches are narrow as in professional six-wicket croquet. The court has ten arches in seven points configured in a double diamond (or figure-8). The two farthest end points and the central point of the figure-8 are double arches (one after the other) while the four side (or corner) points have single arches. Each arch of the double arches at either end of the court count as a separate arch, but the double arches in the center (which are closer together) are scored as a single arch. While in nine-wicket croquet the single central wicket opens up to the length of the court facing the stakes, in roque the double center arches face the sides of the court. Roque uses two stakes: at the head of the court is the "head stake," the other stake at the far end of the court is the "turning stake."

The Weakness of the Bolshevik
The Weakness of the Bolshevik is a 2003 Spanish film directed by Manuel Martín Cuenca. It is based on the novel by Lorenzo Silva.
Plot
The film is set in Spain where a middle aged man driving his car rams into the rear of another car that is driven by a lady named Sonsoles. They get into an argument and then the frustrated businessman starts harassing her by sending lewd remarks on her phone.He starts to stalk her and this eventually leads him to the school where her younger sister Maria studies. He follows her and introduces himself to her by a false name and a false profession.They start spending time with each other, going to a park and afterwards to the swimming complex.Later Maria comes to know of the real name of the person she is seeing to be Pablo Lopez.However after an initial reluctance she gives in and they again start to see each other.On the other hand,a colleague of Pablo is wooing him hard but he disperses her advances as he has grown to have feelings for Maria.Meanwhile Sonsoles's older lover fixes a device in her landline which traces unknown numbers and hence she knows that Pablo is behind the act.However she does not know about her sister's involvement with him and so she sends goons after him to teach him a lesson.But the story takes an ugly turn when the goons target Pablo Maria is with him and she is molested by the goons though Pablo tries hard to save her but he is captured and when Maria tries to save herself and in self-defense hits one of the goons with her knee she is thrown against a rock and dies on the spot.Pablo overcome by sorrow and grief stays by her until the police arrive and is arrested .In the prison he sees a flashback of Maria and becomes elated.

The wonderfully talented Roque Baños takes some time to chat about his recent score to Ron Howard's maritime epic In The Heart Of The Sea starting Chris Hemsworth. Roque shares talks about how he found his way to film scoring and bridge the gap from Spanish cinema to American cinema. We talk about his work on In The Heart Of The Sea and how he got the job through Hans Zimmer's recommendation and went on to build a score as big as the story. From rebuilding sections of the ship in the recording studio to finding the core emotional points, Roque gives us a fascinating look into his process. The wonderfully talented Roque Baños takes some time to chat about his recent score to Ron Howard's maritime epic In The Heart Of The Sea starting Chris Hemsworth. Roque shares talks about how he found his way to film scoring and bridge the gap from Spanish cinema to American cinema. Oscar winner Ron Howard (“A Beautiful Mind”) directs the action adventure “In the Heart of the Sea,” based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s best-selling book about the dramatic true journey of the Essex.
In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. “In the Heart of the Sea” reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down.
“In the Heart of the Sea” stars Chris Hemsworth (“The Avengers,” “Rush”) as the vessel’s veteran first mate Owen Chase; Benjamin Walker (“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”) as its inexperienced Captain, George Pollard; Cillian Murphy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) as second mate Matthew Joy; and Ben Whishaw (“Skyfall”) as novelist Herman Melville, whose inquiries into the event 30 years later helped bring the story to light.
Tom Holland (“The Impossible”) also stars as young seaman Tom Nickerson, and Brendan Gleeson (“Edge of Tomorrow”) as the same man, 30 years later. Spanish actor Jordi Mollà (“Riddick”) is the captain of another ship, the Archimedes, who tries to warn the Essex of what may lie ahead.
Howard directed from a screenplay by Charles Leavitt (“Blood Diamond”), story by Charles Leavitt and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), based on In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick, winner of the 2000 National Book Award for Nonfiction.
The film is produced by Paula Weinstein (“Blood Diamond”), Joe Roth (“Oz the Great and Powerful”), William Ward, Brian Grazer (“J. Edgar”) and Ron Howard. Serving as executive producers are Sarah Bradshaw, Palak Patel, Bruce Berman and David Bergstein. William M. Connor, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver are co-producers.
