I wonder how many interviews Ben Moody and Amy Lee did together in total? Well, this is one. And I’d like to tell you it was one of my best, but more accurately it was one of my first. Evanescence was about to skyrocket, and I could feel it. And it wasn’t much longer before Ben left in the middle of their world tour…I’d love to talk to him about that. So, I was in one microphone mode when I recorded this, I re-recorded my parts as best I could remember. Done in Grand Rapids, MI on May 21, 2003. -Frank

Wavy-haired American character actor and musician Frank Jenks was the son of advertising man Frank Jenks and pianist Lillian Sadler. After his family settled in Los Angeles, he attended the University of Southern California. He learned to play trumpet, trombone and clarinet, but eventually dropped out of college and embarked on leading a band on the West Coast vaudeville circuit. He then took the next step and became a song-and-dance man. From being a hoofer, he made his way to the legitimate stage and from there to movies, at first playing orchestra leaders. While this required little acting ability, he soon came into his own as a comic actor, his cinematic stock-in-trade being fast talking reporters (his caustic delivery was used to best effect in His Girl Friday (1940)), droll Runyonesque henchmen, cabbies, grifters, cops, bartenders and drunks. His improvisational acumen in adding his own routines to varied comedy scripts led to his receiving Hollywood's sobriquet as "off-the-cuff Jenks".Amid numerous supporting parts, often for Universal's B-team, Jenks finagled the odd star billing, notably in a series of forgotten potboilers made by Poverty Row outfit PRC during the 1940's. From the early 1950's, he was a regular guest performer on television, appearing in just about anything, from Adventures of Superman (1952) to Perry Mason (1957).

I wasn’t the right person for this interview. Or maybe I was. I was on the cusp of thinking I understood AARON WEISS’s ideas & thoughts throughout the lyrics of MEWITHOUTYOU. I was fooling myself. I introduced myself while he was caulking the windows of their bus. He said that he didn’t want to do the interview, but would because he had committed to it earlier. But he was in the middle of fixing their ride, and who wants to interrupt work?! I guess I did.……he was kind, and respectful of my ambition, and different than…I’m just gonna say different. Frank Jenks
Frank Jenks (November 4, 1902 - May 13, 1962) was an acid-voiced American supporting actor of stage and films.
Jenks began in vaudeville and went on to a long career in movies and television, mostly in comedy. He was one of the more familiar faces and voices of the Hollywood Studio era. For almost ten years beginning in the early 1920s, Jenks was a song and dance man in vaudeville.
In 1933, when sound films had become the norm, and Broadway actors were moving to Hollywood in droves, Jenks's flat, sarcastic delivery landed him a film career. Internet Movie Data Base lists him appearing in 180 titles over the next 28 years (including TV) often as a sarcastic cabbie, reporter, cop or soldier. Usually a supporting actor, Jenks did appear occasionally as a film lead for low-budget films for PRC. Jenks appeared in not a few classics. In the Cary Grant- Rosalind Russell classic, His Girl Friday (1940), Jenks had his most famous role, as the cynical newsman "Wilson." When television began, Jenks made a successful transition.

Sean Danielsen
Sean Julian Danielsen (born 1982) is an American musician and artistic painter, best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist of American rock bands Smile Empty Soul and World Fire Brigade. In addition to creating two independent extended play albums, Danielsen has also collaborated on Noise Refinery (West One Music) compilation album Anger Management with former He Is Legend rhythm guitarist Mitchell Ray Marlow.
History
Early years
As the son of Jerry Danielsen, recording artist and owner of Busy Signal Studios, Danielsen was born in California. In the three years leading up to his tenth birthday, Danielsen lived in the midst of a desolate summer camp in Maine. After performing in his first rock band at age 11, Danielsen moved to California midway through his teens to live with his father.
Music career
Smile Empty Soul
Shortly after moving across the country, Danielsen met percussionist Derek Gledhill and bassist Ryan Martin while attending neighboring high schools in Santa Clarita, California. It was through this partnership in 1998 that alternative rock band Smile Empty Soul was formed. Shortly after releasing their gold certified eponymous album in early 2003, Danielsen performed on and helped compose "My Father's Daughter", which was released as a track on American rock vocalist Nina Storey's fifth studio album 24 Off the Board.

A music download is the digital transfer of music via the Internet into a device capable of decoding and playing it, such as a home computer, MP3 player or Smart Phone. This term encompasses both legal downloads and downloads of copyright material without permission or legal payment. According to a Nielsen report, downloadable music accounted for 55.9% of all music sales in the US in 2012. Paid downloads are sometimes encoded with Digital Rights Management that restricts copying the music or playing purchased songs on certain digital audio players. Shaun Morgan
Shaun Morgan Welgemoed (born 21 December 1978), known publicly as Shaun Morgan, is a South African musician and singer for the post-grunge/alternative metal band Seether.
Early life and education
Morgan spent all of his early life in South Africa. His parents divorced when Morgan was still a child. Morgan is one of three children; he had a brother, Eugene, who committed suicide in 2007, and has a sister, Lucy. He was a student at Maritzburg College in Pietermaritzburg, where he became a prolific front-row rugby player for his age-group's top teams in his first three years of high school. In his third year of playing rugby, Morgan injured his back and was unable to play anymore, which then lead to him following his passion of playing guitar (his stepfather bought him his first guitar).
At the age of 14, he discovered the Seattle grunge movement after listening to Nirvana’s Nevermind album, which inspired him to become a musician.
Career
Seether
Prior to forming their band, Saron Gas, Morgan was a member of a tribute band, tributing songs of bands such as Creed and Tom Petty. In May 1999, Morgan became the rhythm guitarist and back-up vocalist of a new band, Saron Gas. There were four other members to the band; a female vocalist, a lead guitarist, bassist and drummer. However, when the singer and guitarist did not turn up to the first practice, the band decided to stay as a three-piece, with Welgemoed on lead vocals and guitar. Saron Gas enjoyed moderate success before the bass player decided to quit in January 2000, causing Welgemoed to get in touch with the only other good bass player he knew, Dale Stewart. The band released an album later that year, entitled Fragile.

I can’t say Sonny Sandoval and I became buds…but just listen [in] to this recorded conversation. It’s one of my faves. Sonny is the lead singer, main lyricist for POD, and he was laid back and thoughtful. You’ll hear it in his voice. I met him quickly a few years prior: same. And a couple other times since: same. That’s exactly what you hope for with any person…especially a “bud.” ha! I've found Mr. Draiman quite amicable and progressive each time I've sat down with him and my traveling microphones. So if that makes him disturbed, I must be too. I hoped. I wondered. I guessed I thought we were too far away from Guadalcanal Diary, but then my iPhone shuffled up some solo stuff from Murray Attaway. I was reminded how much his music and lyrics meant to me...mean to me still. I love his smarmy way, interspersed with soul gripping-ness as he weaves in and out of both. Wavy-haired American character actor and musician Frank Jenks was the son of advertising man Frank Jenks and pianist Lillian Sadler. After his family settled in Los Angeles, he attended the University of Southern California. He learned to play trumpet, trombone and clarinet, but eventually dropped out of college and embarked on leading a band on the West Coast vaudeville circuit. I think Disturbed have been labeled with a black crayon...but not because those who do such things paid any attention to David Draiman's lyrics. The words he writes/sings/screams cut deep into those who cloak themselves in purity, yet are anything but! The light that Disturbed shines into dark places (including arenas!) is well intended, and well thought out. I've found Mr. Draiman quite amicable and progressive each time I've sat down with him and my traveling microphones. So if that makes him disturbed, I must be too. I wonder how many interviews Ben Moody and Amy Lee did together in total? Well, this is one. And I’d like to tell you it was one of my best, but more accurately it was one of my first. Evanescence was about to skyrocket, and I could feel it. And it wasn’t much longer before Ben left in the middle of their world tour…I’d love to talk to him about that. I think Disturbed have been labeled with a black crayon...but not because those who do such things paid any attention to David Draiman's lyrics. The words he writes/sings/screams cut deep into those who cloak themselves in purity, yet are anything but! The light that Disturbed shines into dark places (including arenas!) is well intended, and well thought out. I've found Mr. Draiman quite amicable and progressive each time I've sat down with him and my traveling microphones. So if that makes him disturbed, I must be too. PLOT
After witnessing a murder, Frank Johnson goes on the run to avoid being killed himself. His wife, Eleanor (Ann Sheridan), seems almost apathetic about finding him when questioned by Investigator Harris (Robert Keith), due to a marriage on the rocks. The film was based on the April 1948 short story Man on the Run by Sylvia Tate and filmed on location in San Francisco, California.
Plot: As the film opens, a man, Frank Johnson (Ross Elliott), is walking his dog in the city at night. He witnesses a man in a car talking about a crime. The man then gets shot. But whoever shot that man then sees Frank and shoots at him. The shot misses, however, because it is mistakenly aimed at Frank's shadow. The killer then flees in the car.
When the police arrive it is explained that the shooting victim was going to testify in a court case against a gangster. Since Frank saw the shooter, the cops now want Frank to testify. They plan to take him into protective custody. But Frank, while the police inspector (Robert Keith) has momentarily turned away, gives police the slip, leaving his dog (named Rembrandt because his owner is a painter) behind. The police think he is running to escape possible retaliation from the mob. So they contact Frank's wife, Eleanor (Ann Sheridan) to solicit her help in finding him. But she suspects he is actually running away from their unsuccessful marriage.
Later learning that her husband has a heart condition, Eleanor gets the needed medicine and goes looking for him, aided by a newspaperman, Danny Leggett (Dennis O'Keefe) who says he is looking for an exclusive story. The two conduct their own investigation, giving only limited aid to the police. But the police remain determined, since they need a trial witness. Eleanor is aided in her search by Frank's efforts to contact her. In a letter left with a mutual contact he gives her cryptic instructions on how they can secretly meet. The instructions require that she remember a significant event from their life together. But she has trouble doing so.
As the search continues it is gradually revealed to the audience that Danny the newspaperman is really the killer. He is simply using Eleanor to find Frank. Once Eleanor figures out the cryptic reference, she and Danny go to a beachside amusement park at night and there manage to locate him. Wanting time alone with Frank, ostensibly to get his newspaper story and pay Frank $1,000 for it, Danny puts Eleanor on the roller coaster. As she rides she suddenly realizes what Danny has really been up to. But she is trapped until the ride ends in what becomes the frantic climax of the film.
As Eleanor finally gets off the roller coaster, Danny is on the verge of killing Frank. The two fight and shots ring out. Eleanor breathlessly arrives on the scene to discover that the police inspector has just shot the killer. She rushes to her husband and the two embrace.

The film was based on the April 1948 short story Man on the Run by Sylvia Tate and filmed on location in San Francisco, California.
Plot: As the film opens, a man, Frank Johnson (Ross Elliott), is walking his dog in the city at night. He witnesses a man in a car talking about a crime. The man then gets shot. But whoever shot that man then sees Frank and shoots at him. The shot misses, however, because it is mistakenly aimed at Frank's shadow. The killer then flees in the car.
When the police arrive it is explained that the shooting victim was going to testify in a court case against a gangster. Since Frank saw the shooter, the cops now want Frank to testify. They plan to take him into protective custody. But Frank, while the police inspector (Robert Keith) has momentarily turned away, gives police the slip, leaving his dog (named Rembrandt because his owner is a painter) behind. The police think he is running to escape possible retaliation from the mob. So they contact Frank's wife, Eleanor (Ann Sheridan) to solicit her help in finding him. But she suspects he is actually running away from their unsuccessful marriage.
Later learning that her husband has a heart condition, Eleanor gets the needed medicine and goes looking for him, aided by a newspaperman, Danny Leggett (Dennis O'Keefe) who says he is looking for an exclusive story. The two conduct their own investigation, giving only limited aid to the police. But the police remain determined, since they need a trial witness. Eleanor is aided in her search by Frank's efforts to contact her. In a letter left with a mutual contact he gives her cryptic instructions on how they can secretly meet. The instructions require that she remember a significant event from their life together. But she has trouble doing so.
As the search continues it is gradually revealed to the audience that Danny the newspaperman is really the killer. He is simply using Eleanor to find Frank. Once Eleanor figures out the cryptic reference, she and Danny go to a beachside amusement park at night and there manage to locate him. Wanting time alone with Frank, ostensibly to get his newspaper story and pay Frank $1,000 for it, Danny puts Eleanor on the roller coaster. As she rides she suddenly realizes what Danny has really been up to. But she is trapped until the ride ends in what becomes the frantic climax of the film.
As Eleanor finally gets off the roller coaster, Danny is on the verge of killing Frank. The two fight and shots ring out. Eleanor breathlessly arrives on the scene to discover that the police inspector has just shot the killer. She rushes to her husband and the two embrace.

I was reminded how much his music and lyrics meant to me...mean to me still. I love his smarmy way, interspersed with soul gripping-ness as he weaves in and out of both. And this way of lacing lyrics helps me move through life. That's pretty much how our conversation went, and I loved it. We recorded this via Skype the morning of April 16, 2015. -Frank

I think Disturbed have been labeled with a black crayon...but not because those who do such things paid any attention to David Draiman's lyrics. The words he writes/sings/screams cut deep into those who cloak themselves in purity, yet are anything but! The light that Disturbed shines into dark places (including arenas!) is well intended, and well thought out. I've found Mr. Draiman quite amicable and progressive each time I've sat down with him and my traveling microphones. So if that makes him disturbed, I must be too. This was recorded in Battle Creek, MI on April 30, 2009. -Frank

I thought they nailed it, and were headed for greatness, if not bigness. It wasn’t three years later when they called “hiatus time.” I think the darkness he brings to light is quite insightful.
