SDS Builds Fight Against Nazis and White Supremacy in Tennessee

Students from Clarksville Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) fight back against racism in Tennessee this semester to confront a white supremacist organization called American Renaissance (AmRen). American Renaissance white supremacists have been holding their national conference at Montgomery Bell State Park in Tennessee for the last several years. This conference draws the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis, anti-immigration thugs, racists, and fascists of all kinds to our area. They then discuss, network, and organize themselves towards their racist and genocidal agenda.

SDS Launches National Push for Tuition Equity

This week Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) announced the launch of an education rights campaign for undocumented immigrant students. SDS is calling on all chapters to build the struggle for tuition equity and financial aid for students who graduate from U.S. high schools without documentation.

SDS Stands with #BBUM

Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) stands with the University of Michigan Black Student Union and Being Black at the University of Michigan (#BBUM) who are building a movement on their campus to demand that the University provide greater access and support to students of color and poor or working-class students. SDS stands with the UM Black Student Union and student organizers in their demand that the University of Michigan take immediate action to meet the demands of the students.

Students for a Democratic Society Endorse Miami Protest: Close Guantanamo Bay Now!

In November 2001, President George W. Bush authorized the detention of any suspected Al-Qaeda members by newly-created military commissions. Anyone considered “unlawful enemy combatants,” would be captured, tortured, and locked up in prison cells at Guantanamo Bay.
