Representatives of University of South Carolina defensive standout Jadeveon Clowney apparently have to ensure that any profit from his name should be reserved to benefit the Rock Hill native.

When Charlie Ruffalo, owner of Sub Station II in Rock Hill, posted a funny comment on his shop's marquee about Clowney’s propensity for speed, Ruffalo got a call last week from Clowney’s agent, Bus Cook. He threatened legal action if the name wasn’t removed.

Ruffalo complied and told the local media that he assumes that’s the end of the episode.

The marquee stated “Hurry in for our Jadeveon Clowney sub, it goes really fast.” Ruffalo was poking fun at Clowney’s two recent speeding tickets.

Over the weekend, Ruffalo struck again. “Owner on the lam til Monday, hiding from the Bus.”

No word yet if Ruffalo has rubbed someone else the wrong way with his latest message.
