WATCH IN 720 HD - CLICK SETTINGS WHEEL BELOW RIGHT ON VIDEO Berwyn Mountains Circle The Berwyn Mountains are a mountain range in North East Wales. With the highest peaks outside of the Snowdonia National Park we spent a weekend relaxing, seeking out a stone circle by the name of Moel Ty Uchaf and climbing the mountains. Taking in Cadair Berwyn (830 Meters) and our final destination Pistyll Rhaeadr the highest waterfall in Wales at 240 feet we were impressed. Our return journey was not all together direct or conventional choosing instead to walk some of the moors before heading back up towards the ridge, Moel Ty Uchaf and our transport back to camp, which was at the Yr Hen Felin Mountain Centre. Calculated (Google) distance: 24 KM - Time out 12 hours. The trip was tough going in places and full of magic all the way. Energy and wilderness abounds in the Berwyns and we recommend it to anyone. As some guys said: If you like these you will like the Aran Mountains to the West. Indeed, although we did see people including some from the Long Distance Walkers Association we bumped into relatively few especially on the Western Flanks of the mountains. A great range and hike.
