Barclays Investment Bank (trading as Barclays, formerly Barclays Capital) is a British multinational investment bank headquartered in London, United Kingdom and a division of Barclays. It provides financing and risk management services to large companies, institutions and government clients. It is a primary dealer in U.S. Treasury securities and various European Government bonds.

Barclays is led by co-CEOs Rich Ricci and Jerry del Missier. Barclays Capital had 2004 income of GBP 3.4 billion/USD 6.4 billion primarily driven by the structured tax and rates businesses.

In mid-March 2012, Barclays Capital, Barclays Wealth and Barclays Corporate began transitioning to a single Barclays brand to serve clients more easily and efficiently, rather than sustaining the cost and complexity of multiple brands. Barclays Capital is now called Barclays Investment Bank, using simply the Barclays logo.

Barclays Investment Bank has offices in over 29 countries and since the acquisition of Lehman Brothers' main U.S. division in September 2008, employs over 20,000 people, over 7,000 people work in the IT division. This has significantly increased Barclays Capital's presence in North America.

Theodore Roosevelt IV (born November 27, 1942), is a managing director at Barclays Capital Corporation. The son of Theodore Roosevelt III and great-grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt, Roosevelt is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Economic Club of New York, and the Foreign Policy Association. Roosevelt is also a prominent conservationist. He is married to Constance Lane Rogers, and their son is Theodore Roosevelt V.

Roosevelt earned a bachelor's degree from Harvard College, served as an officer in the U.S. Navy with Underwater Demolition Team 11 (BUD/s class 36), and then served in the U.S. State Department as a foreign service officer in Washington, D.C., and Upper Volta. He later earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School, where he was a member of the HBS Rugby Club.

Roosevelt is Chair of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, a Trustee of the Alliance for Climate Protection, a member of the Governing Council of the Wilderness Society, and a Trustee for the American Museum of Natural History, the World Resources Institute, and The Cultural Institutions Retirement System. He is also a Counselor for the China–U.S. Center for Sustainable Development.

Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt ( /ˈroʊzəvɛlt/ ROH-zə-velt; October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919) was the 26th President of the United States of America (1901–1909). He is noted for his exuberant personality, range of interests and achievements, and his leadership of the Progressive Movement, as well as his "cowboy" persona and robust masculinity. He was a leader of the Republican Party and founder of the short-lived Progressive ("Bull Moose") Party of 1912. Before becoming President, he held offices at the city, state, and federal levels. Roosevelt's achievements as a naturalist, explorer, hunter, author, and soldier are as much a part of his fame as any office he held as a politician. Roosevelt was 42 years old when sworn in as President of the United States in 1901, making him the youngest president ever; he beat out the youngest elected president, John F. Kennedy, by only one year. Roosevelt was also one of only three sitting presidents to have won the Nobel Peace Prize, the other two being Woodrow Wilson and Barack Obama.

Lewis Allan "Lou" Reed, born March 2, 1942, is an American rock musician, songwriter, and photographer. He is best known as guitarist, vocalist, and principal songwriter of The Velvet Underground, and for his solo career, which has spanned several decades. Though the Velvet Underground were a commercial failure in the late 1960s, the group has gained a considerable cult following in the years since its demise and has gone on to become one of the most widely cited and influential bands of the era. As the Velvet Underground's principal songwriter, Reed wrote about subjects of personal experience that rarely had been examined so openly in rock and roll, including sexuality and drug culture.

After his departure from the group, Reed began a solo career in 1971. He had a hit the following year with "Walk on the Wild Side", although he subsequently lacked the mainstream commercial success its chart status seemed to indicate. Reed's work as a solo artist frustrated critics wishing for a return of the Velvet Underground. In 1975, Reed released a double album of feedback loops, Metal Machine Music, upon which he later commented, "No one is supposed to be able to do a thing like that and survive."
