Anonymous is simply an idea, "Real revolution begins in the mind". #OP7 on 7, September 2013 set to become Biggest Protest in the History of Brazil!! Wondering if this is only because of the R$0,20 raise in public transport? Keep reading... BRAZILIANS POLITICIANS are among the most WELL PAID AND RICHEST in the world. A "MP" in Brazil earns: $13,000 monthly of salary alone + can hire 25 of their closest friends to be his secretaries. $1,500 monthly to help to pay his rent $20,000 monthly to help with telephone, travel, food, post services bills and MORE. Minimum Wage: $300 And this is nothing, compared with what they steel from the public vaults on a daily basis. Over half a century in Brazil In the history of emigration to other countries, South Koreans who have gone to Brazil have succeeded the most in adjusting to life in a new country. It has now been 50 years since the first Koreans have emigrated to Brazil. They persevered and overcame the early problems they faced to eventually settle down for good. This program will shed light on their lives in the past 50 years. Legendary figure in the history of emigration to Brazil, Rice Grandpa On December 1963, 103 South Koreans departed on a ship from Busan port to reach Santos Port in February of the next year. It was the first government-approved emigration plan implemented after the formation of the new democratic Korean government. Halfway around the world, Brazil was a place of hardship for the South Korean immigrants. Those first-generation Koreans were able to adapt to life in Brazil thanks to help from the warmhearted Jang Seung-ho, otherwise called the "Rice Grandpa." Rice Grandpa's amazing story of compatriotism Born and raised in Yeongdong, North Chungcheong Province, the Rice Grandpa decided to travel to Japan at the age of ten. Later, at the age of 21, he followed a Christian missionary to Brazil. During an encounter with Korean anti-communist POWs in 1953, he became concerned of his fellow compatriots. From the time his life as an immigrant began till the day he died in 2000, he delivered rice to support Koreans. He gave away rice to fellow Koreans, co-signed loans and gave people shelter. He was like a living Buddha to Koreans living in a difficult foreign land. 2013, Descendants of the rice grandfather Even after his death. 60,000 Korean-Brazilians still remember him. And the love and sharing he demonstrated in his life are carried on by second-generation Korean-Brazilians. The Rice Grandpa's simple wish was to see his fellow Koreans prosper and it has come true in an amazing turn of events.
