The 17th G7 Summit was held in London, England, United Kingdom between July 15 to 17, 1991. The venue for the summit meetings was Lancaster House in London.

The Group of Seven (G7) was an unofficial forum which brought together the heads of the richest industrialized countries: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada (since 1976) and the President of the European Commission (starting officially in 1981). The summits were not meant to be linked formally with wider international institutions; and in fact, a mild rebellion against the stiff formality of other international meetings was a part of the genesis of cooperation between France's President Giscard d'Estaing and West Germany's Chancellor Helmut Schmidt as they conceived the first Group of Six (G6) summit in 1975.

The G7 is an unofficial annual forum for the leaders of Canada, the European Commission, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Helen Flynn (1977–2002), played by Lisa Faulkner, is a fictional administrative officer appearing in the first two episodes of the BBC spy drama Spooks, known in the United States as MI-5. The violent death of the character in the second episode sparked a record number of complaints.

The Flynn character is a relatively new MI5 recruit; according to the fictional Spooks: Harry's Diary,, she joined Section D (devoted to counter-terrorism) not long before January 2002. She is the flatmate of junior officer Danny Hunter.

In the second episode of the first series, "Looking After Our Own," Section D is investigating Robert Osborne, believed to be responsible for inciting race riots. Section chief Tom Quinn and junior officer Zoe Reynolds are to go undercover and befriend Osborne's wife. When Zoe is called away to work on another assignment, Helen is asked to take her place. Keen to move up through the ranks of the service and possibly attracted to Tom Quinn as well, she is eager to participate in the operation. She and Tom pose as man-and-wife teachers of a computer course in which Mrs. Osborne has enrolled. Tom and Helen succeed in winning her over, but the deeply suspicious Osborne discovers that they are spies, and they are taken to the kitchen of his plant for interrogation. To force information from Tom, Osborne tortures Helen by dipping her hand into a deep fat fryer. When Tom will not comply, Osborne forces her head in, then shoots her.
