Faysal ibn Husayn of the House of Hashim was proclaimed King of Greater Syria on 8 March 1920 in Damascus, following the Arab revolt against the Ottomans of 1916--1918. His accession was not recognized by France or the United Kingdom, the two new imperial powers in the region, and on 23 July 1920 the French moved 9000 troops towards Damascus resulting in the Battle of Maysalun. Faisal was expelled from Syria on 25 July and took exile in the United Kingdom. On 10 August, the Treaty of Sèvres divided the region into League of Nations mandates governed by France and the United Kingdom. Following mass revolts in Mesopotamia, the British government decided to step back from direct administration and create a monarchy to head Iraq while they maintained the mandate. Faisal agreed to become King following a referendum showing 96% in favour, and on 23 August 1921, Faisal was crowned King of Iraq.- published: 27 Nov 2013

Iraq, History, Politics, King Faisal II, King of Saudi Arabia, 1960's - Film 90414
Violence in Iraq. Early 1960's. Iraqis on the busy streets of Baghdad. Sellers in a marketplace. Really good panning shot of an Iraqi street as filmed from the back of a moving vehicle. A policeman/traffic warden stands in a street and holds up his arms, facing the camera. A few cars drive on the street. Wonderful shot of a harbour, overlooked by a mosque, where traders load up a variety of boats. Men dig in a mine, women balance trays of minerals on their heads, while a man in the foreground sieves sand and rocks. Really good shots of horses pulling chords that operate water troughs. Two men operate heavy machinery in an oil rig. Good shots of the oil drilling equipment. Officials supervise activity in the oilfield. Several workmen congregating around a large oil pipe in the ground. Close-up of rich-looking Sheikh types overseeing the work. A workman wears a protective mask and operates a blowtorch to repair the pipe. Shot of the oilfield, where the camera has been positioned to get a shot of the land, as seen between two pipes. High-angle view of several large storage oil drums, while a car drives along the adjacent road. High-angle shot of the oil refinery buildings. Shot inside the refinery of the tall machinery and pipes. A royal horse-drawn procession rides through an Iraqi street (Bagdad or Baghdad?). King Faisal II and an accompanying person in royal dress sit in a horse-drawn carriage, that comes to a stop. Around 40 soldiers all dressed in white stand to attention by the King's carriage, while other military types salute and hold flags. Faisal and companion get out of their carriage. A desk topped with microphones at an indoor press conference. Faisal and officials walk through a door and up to the desk. He wears a military dress uniform. Faisal stands for photographs at the press conference. New footage of Faisal wearing a suit at some kind of outdoor ceremony. He walks away from his car accompanied by aides. Faisal walks along a path laid out for him, shaking several hands. There are many people at the ceremony, and it is notable that virtually all of them wear westernised suits or military uniforms - none seem to be wearing traditional Arab clothes. Faisal conducts some kind of opening ceremony by cutting a ribbon. Footage of Faisal in military dress uniform at an indoor official function, meeting Saud bin Abdul Aziz, then King of Saudi Arabia. Members of Saud's entourage sit in the function room, looking solemn. They wear Keffiyehs (traditional Arab head-dresses) and white robes. Faisal and Saud sit and talk to one another. Army and airforce officers seized control of Iraq in 1958, with accompanying images of planes flying in formation, shot from the ground, and a tank driving down a road. Cheering soldiers line a Baghdad street. The army leader of this coup, Abd al-Karim Qasim, is seen standing solemnly on a porch, with some officials. A tank travels down a street, Qasim is seen welcoming an Arab dignitary of some kind. Qasim and the dignitary sit in on a sofa together while cameramen film them. We are given a close-up of Qasim's smiling face, Another officers' coup d'etat killed and overthrew Qasim. We see the inside of a room containing the bloodied corpses of Qasim and two others. What appears to be Qasim's corpse is briefly seen being carried through a street on a stretcher. This coup enhanced the position of Gamal Abdel Nasser.' This man, Egypt's President, is seen in a large hall, walking up to a podium to give a speech to an applauding audience. He smiles and informally salutes them. Panning shot of the crowd clapping. Nasser begins to speak. Anwar Sadat stands near him. Iraq's new president, Abdul Salam Arif, is seen in military uniform, walking up a set of steps. He turns away from the camera and waves at an unseen crowd. The camera cuts to the cheering crowd, but it looks as though this shot may have been edited in from a separate occasion. At night, Arif stands by a microphone and reads out a speech. Shot of a massive cheering crowd in daytime. Arif gives another speech from a platform, this time seen during the day. Lots of smiling Arabs have congregated in a crowd, and the cameraman pans round to film them from fairly close-up. They smile and wave at the camera. Some are military, others are civilian. Two soldiers sit on top of a tank in a Baghdad street. Shots of traffic in Baghdad, and soldiers stopping and searching cars at a roadblock. Militia men carry on the search for communist infiltrators, over 100,000 of whom entered Baghdad during Qasim's regime. Mugshot picture of an Arab man. A poor-looking Iraqi rides a horse down a Baghdad street. Three armed soldiers stand powerfully in front of a tank parked in the street. Soldiiers continue searching cars at the roadblock, and an armed man in civilian clothes looks on. Soldiers stand in the street by a parked military jeep and stroll around. The parked tank is seen again shot from further back.- published: 20 Sep 2013

[English Voiceover] Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah(HA) - Press Conference - August 09, 2010
The full text of the press conference held by Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Monday August 9th, 2010 at Shahed Hall – Airport Highway
In the Name of Allah, The Compassionate, The Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, The Lord of the world. Peace be on the Seal of prophets - our Master and Prophet Abi Al Qassem Mohammad - and on his chaste and pure Household, chosen companions and all prophets and messengers.
Brothers and sisters! Ladies and gentlemen! Peace be upon you all and Allah's mercy and blessing.
First, I have promised to hold a press conference in which I present indications and data that open new horizons which help in accusing the Israeli enemy of assassinating martyr Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri. This is exactly what I promised of, and I will fulfill my promise tonight Inshallah.
Also since I made my announcement to this effect, comments from one party were issued: Why now? Why not years before? Why did you hide this data? Why are you unveiling it now and talking about it?
Apart from the means, background and technique in which this issue was evoked – as we will talk seriously because we do not want to get engaged with each other – I will leave answering this question to the end of the press conference because the data which I will present will help, taking its nature and timing into consideration. That will help very much in answering this question.
Indeed I must welcome all of you and thank you for this important and great attendance. It goes without saying that the event, the topic, the cause, the stage and the challenge necessitated on you this level of responsibility – and you are competent for this responsibility. Welcome then. I also thank all the media outlets that will show interest in what I will say and broadcast it live on air.
As usual, there are several topics:
I will try to be as quick as possible. I will talk also in classical Arabic to generalize the benefit abroad. I will be as quick as possible to make full use of time though the case deserves considerable time from all of us.
The first topic: Israel's accusation of Hezbollah. This is an indispensable prelude. The Israeli enemy had been working on this since the very beginning and especially after the event of September 13th, 1993. All of us – all the Lebanese – know that on that very day Oslo Accord was inked. Hezbollah organized a protest in the southern suburb (Dahiyeh); it was opposed by the Lebanese government which was then under Premier Hariri. Fire was opened on the demonstrators; ten martyrs fell and more than 50 were wounded. At the time, a kind of political tension and conflict took place between Hezbollah and the first government of Premier Hariri and with Premier Rafiq Hariri in person. This is well known.
The Israelis intruded through one of their agent at the time who contacted one of the security internals in the party of Premier Hariri. He worked at convincing him that Hezbollah is plotting to assassinate him and is now in the execution stage. He particularly accused brethren martyr Imad Mughniyeh and others of what he claimed and the data he gave.
To comprehend the issue, I would like to present it in my way: Months after the event of September 13th, 1993, Syrian Intelligence and pursuant to a command by General Ghazi Kanaan, arrested one of the Islamic Resistance cadres in Sidon – namely brethren fighter Hajj Ali Deeb who is known as Abu Hassan Salameh and who was later killed by the Israelis. When you listen to the collaborator talking about Abu Hassan Salameh, he would be meaning brethren Ali Deeb. Brethren Ali Deeb was arrested in ambiguous unknown conditions. Days later, I knew that brethren Abu Hassan Salameh is in Anjjar. So I went to meet General Ghazi Kanaan, and I called on him to set free the brethren. He told me that he sent him that morning to Damascus and that the issue is in Damascus by now. I blamed him saying: What is the story? Has you summoned him from me for interrogation, you know that we would have responded. You know we respond in such issues especially if the case is sensitive.
General Ghazi told me: (Indeed let no one say I am referring to deceased persons because the document exists and will be presented in a while) Some days ago, Premier Rafiq Hariri paid me a visit and told me: I have some data; there is a very close person to Hajj Imad Mughniyeh. He is either a politburo or one of the very close bodyguards to Hajj Imad. He attended a session (this reminds me of Zuheir Essedeeq) with Hajj Imad Mughniyeh and Abu Hassan Salameh among others whom he did not know by name. In the session, they plotted to assassinate you. The assassination will take place through ambushes which will be set for you in this road and on that road. He gave him some details. General Ghazi carries on saying: We can't remain silent on that because this is an assassination operation which is being set for the Premier. We can't contact Imad Mughniyeh but we ca

TOU ZINDA HAY WALLAH-Opening of the Graves of Two Sahabi in Iraq
Though in normal cases and circumstances the dead bodies in the grave decompose and disintegrate yet there are proofs where the dead bodies of martyrs, prophets and saints have been found intact when their graves were dug. In 1932 A.D. (1351 A.H.) the then ruling King of Iraq Shah Faisal I, dreamt that he was being addressed by Hudhaifa al-Yamani, who said :- "O king ! Remove Jabir ibn Abdullah Ansari and me from the bank of river Tigris and bury us at some safe place because my grave is already water-logged, (full of water) while Jabir's grave is slowly getting water-logged ,What happens next? watch this exclusive documentary in Urdu language
