The Bridge of Sighs (Italian: Ponte dei Sospiri) is a bridge in Venice, northern Italy. The enclosed bridge is made of white limestone and has windows with stone bars. It passes over the Rio di Palazzo and connects the old prisons to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace. It was designed by Antoni Contino (whose uncle Antonio da Ponte had designed the Rialto Bridge), and built in 1602.

The view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment. The bridge name, given by Lord Byron in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells. In reality, the days of inquisitions and summary executions were over by the time the bridge was built and the cells under the palace roof were occupied mostly by small-time criminals. In addition, little could be seen from inside the Bridge due to the stone grills covering the windows.

A local legend says that lovers will be granted eternal love and bliss if they kiss on a gondola at sunset under the Bridge Of Sighs.

Robin Trower (born Robin Leonard Trower, on 9 March 1945) is an English rock guitarist and vocalist who achieved success with Procol Harum during the 1960s, and then again as the bandleader of his own power trio.

Trower was born in Catford, South East London, England and grew up in the seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea, Essex. In 1962, Trower formed a group that became The Paramounts, later including fellow Southend High School pupil Gary Brooker.[Believe this should be Westcliff High School for Boys] The Paramounts disbanded in 1966 to pursue individual projects. During this time, Trower created a local three-piece band called 'The Jam' (not to be confused with the later group with Paul Weller). Trower then joined Brooker's new band Procol Harum following the success of their debut single "A Whiter Shade of Pale" in 1967, remaining with them until 1971 and appearing on Procol Harum's first five albums.

Before launching his own eponymous band, he joined singer Frankie Miller, bass player James Dewar, and former Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker to form the short-lived combo Jude. This outfit did not record and soon split up.

Paul Ruskay is an award-winning sound designer and composer of several video games and films. He currently runs his own sound studio, Studio X Labs.

He is most noted as being the composer (with the exception of two tracks) of the game Homeworld. His style for this title differs from other composers of real time strategy game soundtracks, as that instead of using climactic orchestral music, he uses an ambient electronic style with Middle Eastern influences.

The Homeworld soundtrack was awarded Best Soundtrack of 1999 by the magazines PC Gamer and Eurogamer. In film, he won a Leo Award for Best Sound Editing on the short film Mon Amour, Mon Parapluie in 2002, and a Leo Award for Best Music Score in a Short Drama for the film The Road That Binds Us in 2005.

Paul Ruskay is also co-founder and co-developer of Aveon Productions and The Oracle of Aveon respectively. In addition to sound design, Paul composed nearly all of the tracks on The Oracle of Aveon. The project also marks this composer's first foray into animation.

Remember Shakti is a quintet which combines elements of traditional Indian music with elements of jazz. The band consists of English guitarist John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain (tabla), U. Srinivas (mandolin), Shankar Mahadevan (vocals), and V. Selvaganesh (kanjira, ghatam, mridangam), who are all of Indian descent. The band's name is derived from John Mclaughlin's acoustic Indian fusion band Shakti which was active in the 1970s. This band consisted of John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, L. Shankar, T.H. "Vikku" Vinayakram, and R. Raghavan. The word Shakti translates in Sanskrit to "female creative power" or "goddess."

After disbanding in the late 1970s, Shakti enjoyed a twenty-year hiatus before McLaughlin and Hussain decided to reform the band. In addition to John and Zakir, T.H. "Vikku" Vinayakram (ghatam, mridangam), returned for Remember Shakti's eponymous debut album in 1997. However, McLaughlin could not locate Shakti's fourth member, violinist L. Shankar, and replaced him with bansuri player Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia for the live recording of this album.

Louise Lynn Goffin (born 1960) is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Signed by record executive Lenny Waronker to Dreamworks in 1999, Louise released her critically acclaimed CD Sometimes a Circle on Dreamworks in 2002. She also independently released the album Bad Little Animals in June 2008 on her label Majority Of One Records, launched May 2008.

Goffin's parents are songwriters Carole King and Gerry Goffin. At the age of 14 she and her sister Sherry provided vocals for the song "Nightingale" on her mother Carole King's album, Wrap Around Joy, released in 1974. She also sang backing vocals on Carole king's 1975 release, "Really Rosie". Goffin's debut public performance was opening for Jackson Browne at the Troubadour when she was 17 years old. Her debut album Kid Blue was released on Elektra/Asylum in 1979.

Goffin was the youngest artist on the soundtrack to Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Louise lived in England between 1984-1994 and made two records while signed to WEA. This Is the Place, released in 1988, includes the VH1 classic video hit "Bridge of Sighs". The following UK album was recorded 1990-1 at Astoria Studios, a houseboat, built in 1911 for and once owned by impresario Fred Karno, now a recording studio owned by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. The rare UK Eastwest Records recordings include a version of the U2 song "Sweetest Thing", with additional lyrics by Bono.
