Gerald (Gerry) Forsythe (born in Marshall, Illinois) is an American businessman and auto racing magnate, best known for being one of the three men (Kevin Kalkhoven and Paul Gentilozzi are the other two) that owned the Champ Car World Series. Forsythe also owns a racing team, Forsythe Championship Racing, that competed in the Champ Car series.

Forsythe began his career as a car owner in 1983. His team, Forsythe Racing, fielded an entry for Italian rookie Teo Fabi in the CART PPG Indy Car World series. Fabi made an impressive showing, winning four races and six poles (including that for the Indianapolis 500) and finishing second in the series points standings. In 1985, Forsythe sold his team in order to concentrate on the development of his other businesses, which are discussed in the "Outside Racing" section below.

In 1993, Forsythe returned to auto racing, teaming with Barry Green to form the Forsythe/Green Racing team in the Toyota Atlantic Championship (a developmental series for the CART PPG Indy Car World series). Backed by Canadian tobacco company Player's, Ltd., the team's two drivers, Canadians Claude Bourbonnais and future Formula One World champion Jacques Villeneuve, finished second and third in the points standings, respectively. In 1994, the team graduated to the CART PPG Indy Car World series, with Villeneuve behind the wheel. The French-Canadian had an immensely successful season, winning Rookie of the Year honours.

José Guillermo "Memo" Gidley is a Mexican-American racing driver, of German and Canadian ancestry, born in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico in 1973. He holds dual citizenship - American and Mexican.

In his early years, he sold his apartment to fund his career and spent 4 months homeless living in his car.^{[citation needed]} He worked at the Jim Russell racing school as a mechanic to fund his career for some time, eventually getting a chance in Champ Car with Derrick Walker in 1999, although this was as a short-term replacement. He did the same task for Gerry Forsythe a year later, and Chip Ganassi in 2001, twice coming close to race victories. He nearly retained his drive for 2002 - Chip later suggested that they keep Bruno Junqueira over him as the Brazilian was under contract.

He has raced assorted sports cars since, although he made 2 Champ Car starts for Rocketsports in 2004, and briefly ran in the rival IRL series. Since 2005 he has competed full time in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, co-driving with Michael McDowell to a victory in the Mexico City season finale. In 2006 he raced in the Team Playboy cars and in 2007 he partnered Max Angelelli in the SunTrust Racing team. In 2010 Gidley co-drove Team CytoSport's Porsche RS Spyder with Germany's Klaus Graf and Sascha Maassen to second in class (and overall) at Laguna Seca, but he reportedly hasn't given up on a return to major open wheel racing.

John Logan Forsythe (born January 14, 1987) is a Major League Baseball second baseman for the San Diego Padres. Prior to playing professionally, Forsythe played college baseball for the University of Arkansas. He also competed for the United States national baseball team in the 2007 Pan American Games.

Forsythe was recruited from Christian Brothers High School to play college baseball at the University of Arkansas under coach Dave van Horn. Forsythe's mother also attended Arkansas. Forsythe intended to take a medical redshirt in 2006, but entered a game after an early-season injury. He singled in his first two games as a Razorback, and continued to start 24 games his freshman year. The freshman also won a game in the 11th inning with a walk-off single for the Hogs, entering as a pinch hitter. Forsythe added over 150 points to his batting average his sophomore year, with 4 home runs and 29 RBI. He also led the team in steals with 18.

Forsythe was a part of Team USA in summer of 2007, finishing with a silver medal in the Pan Am Games. The junior was named a third-team pre-season All-American, and also named to USA Baseball’s pre-season Golden Spikes Award Watch list.

Jim Forsythe (born October 1, 1968) is a current Republican member of the New Hampshire Senate, having represented the 4th District since 2010. Forsythe moved to Strafford, NH and became involved in politics after a career in the US Air Force.

On June 8, 2011, Forsythe was announced as New Hampshire Campaign Chairman for the presidential campaign of Congressman Ron Paul.

On January 5, 2012, Forsythe announced that he would not run for re-election in 2012.

Gerald Arpino (January 14, 1923 – October 29, 2008) was an American dancer and choreographer. He was co-founder of the The Joffrey Ballet and succeeded Robert Joffrey as its artistic director in 1988.

Born in Staten Island, New York, Gerald Arpino studied ballet with Mary Ann Wells, while stationed with the Coast Guard in Seattle, Washington. Arpino first met Robert Joffrey at Wells's school. He studied modern dance with May O'Donnell in whose company he appeared in the 1950s.

In 1956, Arpino was a founding member of the Robert Joffrey Theatre Ballet with Robert Joffrey. He served as co-director of the company's school, the American Ballet Center, and was the leading dancer until an injury forced him to stop in 1963. By 1965 he had choreographed five works for the company, and became the Joffrey's co-director and resident choreographer. In the first twenty-five years of the company's existence, Arpino had created more than a third of all its commissioned ballets.

After the death of Robert Joffrey in 1988, Arpino became the Artistic Director of the Joffrey Ballet and in 1995 moved the company to Chicago. In July 2007, he was named "Artistic Director Emeritus" as a search for a successor began. Arpino suffered from prostate cancer for seven months and eventually died on October 29, 2008.
