Luarca (Ḷḷuarca in asturian) is one of 15 parroquias and the capital in the municipality of Valdes, in Asturias, Spain. Situated at an elevation of 110 m (360 ft) above sea level, it has a population of 5,354 (2008), and an area of 5.94 km² (2.29 sq mi). The village is 90 km (56 mi) from the capital, Oviedo. The Nobel laureate for medicine in 1959, Severo Ochoa, was born in Luarca.

The Way of St. James named The Northern Way (Camino de la Costa) passes Luarca.

Fishery and agriculture has dominated the region for hundreds of years. Luarca is home to the ALSA bus company.

Raphael Joseph De Mesa Eigenmann (born September 25, 1961), better known as Mark Gil, is a Filipino actor.

He is the son of actors Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil, brother of actors Michael de Mesa and Cherie Gil. He is fourth Filipino, fourth Spanish, and half Swiss German American descent. He is the father of singer/actor Gabby Eigenmann and Ira Eigenmann from actress Irene Celebre. He is also the father of Tim "Sid Lucero" Eigenmann and Maxene "Max" Eigenmann from actress Bing Pimentel, and of Andi Eigenmann from another actress, Jaclyn Jose. Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni (8 June 1671 – 17 January 1751) was an Italian Baroque composer. While famous in his day as an opera composer, he is mainly remembered today for his instrumental music, such as the concertos, some of which are regularly recorded.

Born in Venice, Republic of Venice, to Antonio Albinoni, a wealthy paper merchant in Venice, he studied violin and singing. Relatively little is known about his life, especially considering his contemporary stature as a composer, and the comparatively well-documented period in which he lived. In 1694 he dedicated his Opus 1 to the fellow-Venetian, Cardinal Pietro Ottoboni (grand-nephew of Pope Alexander VIII); Ottoboni was an important patron in Rome of other composers, such as Arcangelo Corelli. Albinoni was possibly employed in 1700 as a violinist to Charles IV, Duke of Mantua, to whom he dedicated his Opus 2 collection of instrumental pieces. In 1701 he wrote his hugely popular suites Opus 3, and dedicated that collection to Cosimo III de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany.

Gutierrez began acting as a teen actress in the 1980s, under BMG Films. She became part of German Moreno's That's Entertainment in the early 1990s, before becoming a beauty queen in 1993.

As the official representative of her country to the 1993 Miss World pageant held in Sun City, South Africa on November 27, Gutierrez obtained the title of Miss World Asia & Oceania and placed second runner-up to eventual winner, Lisa Hanna of Jamaica. Despite being a Binbining Pilipinas-World titleholder, her wardrobe, costume, accessories and travel expenses were funded and paid for solely by the Crown Prince of Brunei.

She is the daughter of matinee idol Eddie Gutierrez and talent manager Annabelle Rama.
