add video playlist Hardly a welcome sight for travelers at New York's LaGuardia Airport. Long lines, canceled flights, and hundreds of people stranded in the season's first winter storm. SOUNDBITE: RAMONA, TRYING TO FLY TO ATLANTA, SAYING: "I'm trying to get back to Atlanta. My flight was canceled yesterday, last minute. So now they have me going from here to Miami just to get back to Atlanta. And hopefully, I'll get back there at 9 o'clock tonight." Travelers are being forced to wait it out as thousands of flights have been canceled or delayed in the Northeast. Crews are working around the clock to clear the runways after the fierce winter storm dumped heavy snow on the region. For some, it's been a frustrating wait with no end in sight. SOUNDBITE: ANDY, TRYING TO FLY TO CANADA, SAYING: "Got here an hour and a half before our flight and found that it was canceled and then they gave us a 1-800 number to phone and we've been on the phone for two hours and our flight is now departing on Monday. And so I think we are going to take a bus." Unsafe conditions forced flights to be temporarily suspended at New York's JFK Airport Friday morning.

Tongue in cheek, silly, sarcastic poke at Income Inequality Reform. I know it means more than my portrayal of this stereotypical slacker who lays around the house all day watching TV and collecting food stamps and welfare and singing songs out on the front lawn when they ought to be out looking for a jobby job. I hope nobody gets offended by this. Just for fun.

For those out of the USA. Income inequality is the hot topic here. President Obama has made it his goal this year to combat inequality.

I recorded this with an Omni directional gooseneck microphone attached to my guitar and plugged into an H1 zoom. Used a camcorder for the video.

I played the Beverley Hillbilly song at the end.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has resigned in a bid to defuse two months of unrest in the country.

His announcement came at the start of an emergency session of parliament called on Tuesday morning.

Azarov said he was stepping down because of the threat to the economy caused by two months of unrest.

Now, Obama is pursuing military intervention in the sovereign country that borders Iraq. Hardly a welcome sight for travelers at New York's LaGuardia Airport.

Ukraine has seen some of the worst civil disorder since the beginning of a wave of demonstrations two months ago. The opposition and government blame each other for the violence in the capital Kiev. Ukraine's chief prosecutor has called it "a crime against the state" while the opposition fears civil war could follow. How great is the danger the situation will spiral out of control? Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovich has warned of a threat to his country and offered to hold talks with the opposition. At the same time the interior ministry has said police may use their firearms if they feel threatened. Until last weekend the rallies had been largely peaceful but they radicalized after the Ukrainian government introduced tighter laws on holding demonstrations. The gulf between the two sides has deepened. Can further escalation be avoided? Is President Yanukovich really interested in dialogue or is that just part of a wider tactic? The Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has resigned in a bid to defuse two months of unrest in the country. His announcement came at the start of an emergency session of parliament called on Tuesday morning. Azarov said he was stepping down because of the threat to the economy caused by two months of unrest. Under the constitution, the departure of the prime minister means the resignation of the entire government. In a statement, Azarov said he had personally asked the president to accept his resignation "for the sake of a peaceful settlement of the conflict." "The conflict situation which has come about in the country is threatening the economic and social development of Ukraine, creating a threat to the whole of Ukrainian society and to each citizen," Azarov added. The 66 year old was appointed by Yanukovich after the presidential election in 2010. He backed the decision in November to shun a free trade agreement with the European Union. Yesterday, President Viktor Yanukovych met with the three opposition leaders for four hours and agreed to repeal controversial antiprotest laws. At the meeting, Justice Minister Olena Lukash said politicians would also discuss the issue of the government's "responsibility" in Tuesday's session of parliament. Outgoing Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said former Economy Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, now one of the opposition leaders, was offered the post of prime minister but turned it down. euronews: the most watched news channel in Europe Subscribe! http://eurone.ws/10ZCK4a euronews is available in 14 languages: http://eurone.ws/17moBCU In English: Website: http://www.euronews.com/news Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/euronews.fans Twitter: http://twitter.com/euronews Google+: http://google.com/+euronews VKontakte: http://vk.com/en.euronews

The Enemy Within: The Pakistan Taliban. With rare access to a deeply troubled corner of Pakistan, this report looks at Pakistan's war with the Taliban. For downloads and more information visit: http://www.journeyman.tv/?lid=65884&bid;=2 Out of bounds for most Pakistanis, this report gains rare access to a deeply troubled corner of Pakistan. The army claims it has South Waziristan under control, but is it a ticking time bomb of extremism? In a military hospital in Islamabad, hundreds of "profoundly damaged and disabled" soldiers are being treated. They've come from the western tribal belt, where for the last nine years Pakistan has been waging a largely hidden war against extremists. "There has been this double game that has gone on for many years, of Pakistan supporting the NATO presence in Afghanistan and at the same time allowing the Afghan Taliban to operate against the NATO forces", explains Pakistan's foremost expert on Islamists in the region, Ahmed Rashid. He claims the government's duplicity has radicalised a local variant of the Taliban. "There is now a full-scale extremist movement in Pakistan that is trying to overthrow the State." The agents of some of the worst acts of global terrorism inhabit this remote frontier. Yet many local villagers claim life under the Taliban "was normal" and "nobody was afraid". They argue the army intervention in the region has only been destructive. In an attempt to win hearts and minds, the army has opened a high school for girls, which aid workers argue is "critical for countering extremism". However Pakistan's Taliban vow they're determined "to escalate the war". U.N. Envoy: First Phase Of Syria Talks To End Friday
U.N. Envoy: First Phase Of Syria Talks To End Friday
  • Order:
  • Duration: 1:10
  • Updated: 29 Jan 2014
U.N. mediator Lakhdar Brahimi says the first phase of the Syria peace talks in Geneva will end on Friday, and the gap between the government and the opposition remains "quite large." Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Brahimi said he does not expect any substantial achievements over the next two days. Still, he said, the "ice is breaking slowly." He said both sides will decide on Friday when the second phase of the talks will take place. Earlier Wednesday, both sides managed to discuss the thorniest issue: the opposition's demand for a transitional government in Syria. But President Bashar Assad's adviser, Bouthaina Shaaban, toldThe Associated Press that it would be difficult to even hold a presidential election in Syria, given the raging violence of the civil war, and she rejected a transitional governing body. http://rssfeeds.usatoday.com/~r/usatoday-NewsTopStories/~3/0Kv-r423ojk/ http://www.wochit.com
